"I toured Cresthaven Senior Living. I think that it'll be perfect for my daughter because everyone is friendly. She'll be able to meet new people, and they do have three meals a day. They will help her with her meds. So, I think everything is falling into place. The staff was very helpful and very respectful. She took us on the tour and everything seemed very clean and well organized. I felt that it was going to be a very friendly and positive place. It was originally a hotel, so there were hotel rooms, which were just enough. They have a little kitchenette and then two bedrooms."

"Elison Independent Living of Lake Worth is beautiful. The tour was great. They explained everything to us. I saw the dining room, and it was very nice. It was exquisite and beautiful. I saw the menu, and it was a topnotch menu. They had a lot of activities. The place was beautiful; it was really nice. The room was very nice, spacious, clean, and bright. It had a balcony and a kitchenette, so it was like you have your own condo. It was really independent. However, it was not for my father. I think he needed medication management, and that was not offered there. Nevertheless, the place was very well maintained. I wouldn't mind living there. The staff who gave us the tour was great. She was nice."

"I toured Palomino Gardens Retirement Resort a couple of times. The staff was nice. The place itself was only a few months old, so everything looked new. It's brand new, so it can't be bad. They have to stand in line and look and see what you want to eat for dinner, and I don't like that fact. I'd rather sit down and order what I want and have them bring it to me. Once you decide what you want to eat, they bring it to your table for you, so you don't have to carry it. But I didn't like the fact that I had to stand in line for it."

"I toured Meridian at Lantana for my wife, and it was very nice. My issue is we're both sixty-nine, and I felt like I would be a bull in a china shop. The thing that I didn't like, and it's nothing personal against them, is you have an apartment, but you aren't allowed to have a stove, a hot plate, or even a toaster oven. I don't have Alzheimer's or anything, and I am capable of using a stove so far, but who knows what will happen down the road. I understand why they would do that, but that was one of the things that totally turned me off to the place. The whole place was nice, and I'm sure it was for the right people. The person who assisted us was very hospitable and very nice. To me, the smallest room was very small; it was maybe 600 square feet. Then she showed us a bigger one, and that would have been adequate. The place was very nice, very clean, and very livable. Our house was 3000 square feet, so to jump down to a little 600-square-foot room without a stove would have been rough, and I just couldn't do it. They don't allow a stove, but you have a little refrigerator and a microwave. I understand that your meals were in the cafeteria. I didn't go into the dining area; I just looked through the window and it was nice. There were activities, but because of COVID it was extremely limited. They had a pool and a big area where you could sit outside, so I'm sure they had a lot of different things. I did notice it was extremely limited, and I understand it was because of COVID, so I never really looked into it that closely. For me personally, because they have no stove, you're not really independent. You're really dependent on their dining area, and you have to eat when they're serving each meal -- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I didn't eat there, but they gave me a big chocolate-chip cookie just for coming, and they were very good; they're like super excellent. I have a feeling the food was probably very good there."

"When we visited Brookdale Palm Beach Gardens, it was just starting its renovation. It took them a good year to finally get it totally renovated, and they did contact me numerous times to come in, have lunch again, sit and talk, and see that the place had been renovated. I never got back in to do that. I saw their plans for the renovation; they were really nice. It seemed that it was going to look good, but I never really get back there. I had lunch there, and the food was fine. "

"Vi is the best, but it is for the people who have a lot of money. My father stayed there last August for 21 days that Medicare provided. Then he had to leave because he could not afford what they charge for skilled nursing. It was the best, and I tried to get my father back in there, but they had no beds available. My father didn't have the income to stay there. Their food was excellent. They made the patients feel like they were in restaurants. Their dining room was beautiful. They had not just one alternative, but 3 different alternatives. The quality of the way they treated the older people -- their way of life -- was 100% They didn't make them feel down; they keep things going, and they had activities all day long. The dining room was like you're in an expensive restaurant. You sat down and eat. They also allow the family to come in and eat with them. But it's basically for people who have money. "

"I like Discovery Village At Boynton Beach, that was pretty nice. It's like living on a cruise ship, it's nice, and it's been newly renovated. There's entertainment every night, you get two meals a day, and it's got a nice 1-bedroom apartment or 2-bedroom apartment. They have very nice facilities, and the staff seems friendly. They had a good presentation in the lunchroom with flowers on every table, linens, so I couldn't think of anything bad about the place. The person that gave the tour was personable, knowledgeable, he's been there some time and he was able to explain and answer questions that I had. When I was there, they were having lunch at that time so it was pretty much crowded, and they didn't offer a meal. The room was like a hotel. They had a pool, they had a barbershop, they have a beauty salon, and they have a gym. They have a huge lobby and there's always a pot of coffee for visitors and residents."

"I went to Windward Palms and found it to be clean. The residents were friendly and looked well cared for and happy. There were quite a few activities and transportation available, which I thought was good. The units were nice and not overly large. They have a band that practices there that's not made up of residents -- just a band that comes in and practices, which I thought was nice. It's compact, so things are easy to get to and not all spread out; the activities and whatever you need are right there. "

"I like Brookdale West Boynton Beach because of its proximity to where I live. It's recently renovated, so it's in good condition. The apartments were beautiful and I like the fact that they provide three meals a day and that they have assisted living. It was a one-bedroom unit that I was interested in. It had ample closet space (multiple closets) and you have the option of a stove in the kitchen or not. I was hoping for a balcony, but there's no balcony so that's the only thing that I had a preference for that they didn't have, but the apartment was just perfect. The sales counselor was very knowledgeable and extremely informative. They also have a library, a pool, a salon, and activities centers."

"The first place that my friend liked and considered was here. It is senior living, assisted living, and memory care. The main lobby had a very nice inviting setting. There are a lot of activities going on with the residents. We were given a tour for an hour to an hour and a half by a lovely lady. It was a very thorough tour. We looked at several different apartments that were available. It just had everything that you would want in your own home and then some. We were looking at a one-bedroom, one-bath and it had a balcony, full kitchen, and washer dryer stacked in a closet. It was very good sized. There were several dining areas in the facility, one was like a bistro for lunch, the dining room itself was very spacious, very lovely, and well lit. They also had a private dining room if you wanted to have a family gathering. There were people playing cards and mahjong, there were several ladies just sitting and talking in the lobby, there was bingo going on in one of the activity rooms, they have a well-stocked library. They had all kinds of games available in a game room that had a pool table. If I had been ready, I would've chosen this place myself. They had nice walkways. It's in a community called Jupiter Abacoa, so it doesn't stand off by itself. It's actually within a community of families around the building. I didn't find anything wrong anywhere. The facility was excellent."

"Apartments in both Independent and Assisted very adequate. Staff is right on, easy access to them. The rush for dining starts early as many like Happy Hour, followed by a great dinner and some kind of show. My mother in law enjoys the exercise class at 96 and rooming the great campus looking for others to kibitz with. The community offered a lot from Card Games, Art class, swimming etc. and Frank Sinatra is still playing in her apartment just waiting for times to start up again. She is ready"

The rooms were smaller and didn't have a washer and dryer. The food was outstanding. It was delicious. The staff was very nice. He was a young man and I liked him. That's probably where I would go.
