"My mother lived in Prosperity Oaks before she passed away. She stayed there for 10 days. It was excellent for the little bit that she was there. Everybody was very sweet to her. The staff was just fantastic. They knew that she was in distress and they really looked after her with special care. We picked out this facility because of the location and it was a beautiful place. It was just a mile away from my mother's youngest grandson and an hour and a half from me and her oldest grandson so we were there every day. Mother had a screen and porch and she liked to stay there. She had a nice-sized bedroom and she had her own furniture. There was a kitchen, a bath, and a nice door hallway. The main bathroom had a shower and a tub. It was quite luxurious but of course you paid for what you got. She had two levels of care and it ended up approximately $5200 a month. They had a chef so they served gourmet food. You couldn't get the same quality for the price. They only charged $11 extra for my sister and I to eat there. They had a dining room on each floor. There was also a main dining room which was a little fancier, where you couldn't wear shorts or jeans or anything like that. Too bad my mother never got well enough to go down there. "

"Vi is the best, but it is for the people who have a lot of money. My father stayed there last August for 21 days that Medicare provided. Then he had to leave because he could not afford what they charge for skilled nursing. It was the best, and I tried to get my father back in there, but they had no beds available. My father didn't have the income to stay there. Their food was excellent. They made the patients feel like they were in restaurants. Their dining room was beautiful. They had not just one alternative, but 3 different alternatives. The quality of the way they treated the older people -- their way of life -- was 100% They didn't make them feel down; they keep things going, and they had activities all day long. The dining room was like you're in an expensive restaurant. You sat down and eat. They also allow the family to come in and eat with them. But it's basically for people who have money. "

"I like Discovery Village At Boynton Beach, that was pretty nice. It's like living on a cruise ship, it's nice, and it's been newly renovated. There's entertainment every night, you get two meals a day, and it's got a nice 1-bedroom apartment or 2-bedroom apartment. They have very nice facilities, and the staff seems friendly. They had a good presentation in the lunchroom with flowers on every table, linens, so I couldn't think of anything bad about the place. The person that gave the tour was personable, knowledgeable, he's been there some time and he was able to explain and answer questions that I had. When I was there, they were having lunch at that time so it was pretty much crowded, and they didn't offer a meal. The room was like a hotel. They had a pool, they had a barbershop, they have a beauty salon, and they have a gym. They have a huge lobby and there's always a pot of coffee for visitors and residents."

"Windward Plams is just close to where I live and so I can visit frequently. The staff there is phenomenal. They take an active interest in each of the resident. They are always interactive. The place is homey, clean and welcoming. "

"I like Brookdale West Boynton Beach because of its proximity to where I live. It's recently renovated, so it's in good condition. The apartments were beautiful and I like the fact that they provide three meals a day and that they have assisted living. It was a one-bedroom unit that I was interested in. It had ample closet space (multiple closets) and you have the option of a stove in the kitchen or not. I was hoping for a balcony, but there's no balcony so that's the only thing that I had a preference for that they didn't have, but the apartment was just perfect. The sales counselor was very knowledgeable and extremely informative. They also have a library, a pool, a salon, and activities centers."

"The facility is very clean, homey feeling. Residents are friendly and the staff is excellent. Have not had any problems in the 9 months my mother has been there. The medical staff take very good care of my mom and the head of the nursing staff is always there to answer my questions or concerns. They all take very good care of my mom. "

"Grand Villa of Deerfield Beach is very good, but they have a lot of people, and we were looking for a smaller facility. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were very nice and large. They have a salon."

"We went to visit a former neighbor at the Christian Manor. My friend's room was nice, but furnished with his own furnishings. It had a nice layout. They have a good location as far as being close to entertainment, like the Travis Center and downtown West Palm Beach. "

"I used to live at Tradition for five years. It was a first class facility all the way. The dining room was absolutely beautiful, the service was excellent and the food was outstanding. "

"Lourdes-Noreen McKeen was great and really terrific. The apartments were clean and beautiful; they faced the water and were great. The lady there was great. She was very nice and informative. There was a concert going on that afternoon. It was excellent. They have independent living, assisted living, and nursing areas. "

"I'm in Windsor Park Apartments. It's a 55+ community, and it's very nice. I met several people that are friendly. They speak to you. They say hi, and you say hi. Everybody talks to each other. They've been really nice. Landscaping is good. The amenities are clean. The apartment is like brand new with new carpet and new appliances. That's how new it is. There's a swimming pool, a tennis court, a weight room or gym, and a gathering place. I believe they pick your garbage up from your door if you set it out. There's an elevator. They have three floors per building. There's a space for a washer dryer, which is the vertical combo. The dryer is gas. The stove is gas and some of the hot water heaters are still gas. You do not get the washer dryer unless you choose to pay $50 a month for having that convenience in your apartment. If you don't choose to have that, there is a laundry room onsite that you can do your laundry. If you want to have it in your apartment, there's an extra fee. That's the only quirky thing that I have found so far about them. A nurse comes one day a week. If you need your blood pressure checked or whatever you need one day a week, you can see a nurse. There is a food bank, and there are hot meals available. All I have to do is go over to the community room and sign up with them, and they'll give me hot meals for free. Laundry facilities are available or for an additional fee, you can have your washer and dryer in your apartment. There are no organized activities. The tenants seem to do that on their own like normal people outside. They have not started putting that back together yet where they have a bunch of people in the room that are playing cards. Right now, there are no organized events because of COVID. Most of the apartments that I looked at, the money was about the same. I think that I hit the jackpot here. The value is good. I got a brand new apartment. If I had the money, I was expected to pay more for the apartment because of how nice and clean and new it is. It's worth more than that, but because it is a restricted income complex, they can't charge you more."
