"I just wanted to send you a note on your staff at Brookdale west Boynton. As you know, my Mom broke her hip back in September and has been rehabilitating to return. These last two weeks she kept telling me that she could not wait to get back to Brookdale. She did not like the food or the care where she was being rehabilitated. She often told me that even though she could be cranky with the aides she cared for them and missed them. I have always been completely comfortable and satisfied with the care your staff has given my mom. It has been a blessing having her there and I would recommend Brookdale highly. "Ellison Independent Living of Lake Worth was all very functional. They had a bunch of activities and then they had a huge dining room. They seemed to be open with me and the place was clean, nice, and convenient for the families to come and visit (it's right off the freeway). It seemed well taken care of. The lady was really sweet. When we talked about the initial costs, she was amenable to working with me. So that was good, not just for me, but for other people knowing that they work with all of them."

"What was nice about it is that it was located right near a lovely shopping center called CityPlace. It was easy to get to for residents who wanted to leave the independent living and go shopping or for a movie or whatever. The place is very nicely laid out, and the apartments were spacious. The staff follows up with me. They called me like every six weeks to see how things were doing. There is a lot of interaction with the residents. Everybody is smiling. No one is sitting in a lobby falling asleep in a wheelchair. It's not like that at all. It's just a very upbeat place."

"I toured the independent living of Verena at Delray in Delray Beach. I liked the craft room, and the dining room seemed nice and spacious. The gambling room also interested me. They have a beauty salon and a pool. They clean your room every two weeks, and every apartment has a balcony. Then they have a larger balcony that anyone can use. They also had nice areas to play cards. The person who gave the tour was very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. Afterwards, they gave me a little box with a cheesecake in it. The physical appearance of the place was lovely. What I like about it is that everything is in one building. What attracted me to independent living was that everything's just an elevator ride away, not a car ride."

"I'm interested in it, and I'm going back to look at it again. I have a friend who is there, and that's what attracted me to it. What she likes, and what I like, are the lectures that they give there. I have eaten there. The food wasn't spectacular, but it was good. It seemed as if the staff does a good job."

"The person that guided us around Stratford Court of Boca Pointe was absolutely qualified. He knew his stuff, was very pleasant, and helpful. The facility, overall, had good-sized apartments. The only negative aspect of the visit was that the common areas were a little too dark. It had a feeling of something that was cold and not very appealing. The apartments were clean though, and everything else was good. When they change the people that live in a unit, they basically repaint the floor and redo the whole thing, which is a positive thing. Its cost would certainly be more affordable than the newer communities and there was some variety in the layout, and the options that you would have had. They have a large library, too. I just had a good impression."

"We visited Brookdale Palm Beach Gardens. My dad liked the vibe of it. The people are very friendly. It was affordable for him, and they had a beautiful room available. Everybody was great. The facility was a little dated compared to some of the newer ones, but overall, it was very, very clean. My dad would get a 1,100 square foot three-bedroom with two full baths. The atmosphere felt like you were on vacation."

"My brother moved into this facility. We chose it for location. It's very clean. They offer you dinner in your room,or you can go to the dining room. They have a nice swimming pool and a lot of activities. So I think it's very, very nice. I had dinner there, and it was very nice. Everybody was very caring. It was very clean. He chose a very small apartment. It has everything he needs, so it's fine."

"It was a really nice place. The facility was beautiful. The people were nice. I referred someone there and her father went in there. Two weeks ago, we had lunch and her father said, "I wish you brought me there a year earlier." He really likes it. They have lot of activities like arts and entertainment. That place was really nice. I'm thinking of going to Holland next year and I have to go and see them again to see if they could take my husband for a month. What I like best about this facility is that during the visit, they showed us around and they're very knowledgeable. It was just a warm place and I really like it."

"The thing that first impressed me about this facility is that it is small enough that the owners and staff know everyone by name, and also is able to know their entire history (and therefore can respond immediately if a person has a change in condition or needs medical attention!), as opposed to other places which might be bigger and more expensive, but a person is just a number and can get lost in the crowd. The other great thing I found about this facility is that one of the owners (Renee) is a nurse, and opposed to other facilities which might have a home health nurse who comes in once a day to check only on the residents who are on her caseload, Renee is there every day and can attend to each patient at the facility. Having a licensed nurse on staff is such a plus! Equally impressive is that most meals are prepared from scratch and that the cleanliness of the facility is a top priority. Never once have I walked in and been accosted by an odor. Cleaning seems to take place 24/7, which is amazing, and the staff to resident ratio is much better than at many other facilities. "

"We moved in, and we're both quite content. I found the residents very pleasant and very friendly. We have our meals, a cleaning service once a week, drivers that take us places, and we have a lot of outings to dinners and luncheons. The exercises are extensive, and we have swimming and aerobics. We have a beautiful library, a full theater, and women's group discussions."

"We took a tour of Mangrove Bay and the facility was nice. One of the hesitancies we had was the $50,000 buy-in. It's seemed to be a very pleasant community, but we didn't feel that the value was there. The apartments were adequate and they were nice, just a little too small for us. We weren't that impressed. The staff was very pleasant. The place was clean and neat. We had lunch there and the food and the menu were adequate. The dining area was clean and neat. The outdoor spaces were pleasant and well maintained."
