"We chose here for our father because he'd be able to walk outside freely. That's the main reason. The staff and rooms were great, and the nurses and everyone there was very good. I ate there and the food was good. They do all sorts of stuff, like they go on field trips outside. The most important thing is that they can go outside on their own unsupervised because everything is fenced in, so it's a secure community."

"I am a resident of Discovery Village At Boynton Beach. The services are pretty decent. The buildings are kept clean. It's a pretty nice place. The food is industrial. It's okay. It's not great. It's not terrible. We sort of knew what we were getting into because we tried the food at a few other places before we came here and they're all pretty much the same, just depends on the in-house chef. Some may be a little better than others. The soups have pretty much been great. We've gone through a few cooks and we're on a new chef now, a real chef for the first time since I moved in. The staff is pretty good and friendly. The people are generally friendly and talkative, which is one of the big reasons we came here."

"I toured the assisted living facility of The Club at Boynton Beach. The director who was supposed to give me the tour was not there, so they gave the job to somebody else who didn't know that much about assisted living. When I got to the front desk, nobody helped me, so they weren't very welcoming. The parking in the back is also very sparse. It's very hard to find a spot. The apartments were very small and very expensive. They were like $6,000 or more a month, and you have to pay a move-in fee. The cheapest place I found was about $4,300, and that had no kitchen. The rooms were very small, and the layout was very unusual. They weren't typical 1-bedroom apartments. The higher floors cost more, and the top floors have balconies. They all look over the intercoastal. When we opened the door to the library, they had a nursing staff meeting, and there were about 15 nurses in there. These are people who would take care of you, so I was impressed with that. They even make your bed in the morning, and that really surprised me. There's a concierge place, so you get more help, but you pay for it since it's very expensive. I met the cook, and I asked what kind of meals he cooks. He said he cooks simple meals. They had a very good menu posted on the wall. They had cocktail hours outside, and people were enjoying it. The cocktails are free, so that was good. It was very clean. I would live there, but I couldn't find an apartment I liked."

"Brookdale West Boynton Beach was a nice place. But this was a little bit too small of what I was looking for at the time. The only available thing was a studio. I saw a couple of people, and they were going to have lunch. I was in the dining room area. It was extremely clean and spacious. The young lady who showed me around was professional and patient. She was awesome. They did have a beauty salon where you can get your hair done. I thought that was an awesome idea. I saw a pool area that was nice if you want to go swimming. When I went in, I felt safe there. The parking area was good."

"My in-laws are doing very well here. The staff is doing well, too. Like any place, there are some staff members that do well with our parents. My wife's parents like them and the staff likes her, and there are some others that they have no opinion on. My wife's father is in a particular state of dementia where he gets angry and so you really can't judge by what he says. He doesn't really know what he's saying. Their room is very nice. We like the rooms and the layout. The food is good, too. We'd been there a few times to eat with them before COVID, and we enjoyed the food. This is a difficult time and we wish that we could at least see them through the window, and they're not even letting us do that. I think it's time for us to be able to at least see them through the windows."

"I toured Barrington Terrace at Boynton Beach for my aunt. The staff who accommodated me during the tour was really lovely, she was very nice. I didn't have any food, but it looked very good from what I saw in the restaurant. It appeared to be very nicely laid out. I liked the idea that they have an apartment available for my aunt on the first floor, which I liked because she is legally blind. So for her to get on an elevator by herself would be difficult."

Everything's on the premises. Everything is in close proximity, so his level of needs is quickly sufficed. There's a salon, a pool, and an open area with a big television where you can socialize. "This is a wonderful establishment. I moved my mother there a few months ago after receiving a number of recomendations about the facility. As her dementia progresses they have shown an amazing ability to join her in the "journey". I especially like the quad set-up of limited residents in one of 4 wings. It is the closest thing to home I had seen in a professional residence. "

"We loved Symphony at Delray Beach. It was lovely. Kathy was the lady who helped us and she was so nice. That was our number three choice, but we just ultimately decided that Delray Beach wasn't the right location. We would have picked it if they had been in Boyton, and that was only our preference. There was nothing wrong with their location. It's clean and all brand new. The studio was gorgeous. They had a move-in special that would have been helpful."

"Moore Care is like heaven here on earth. Everything is fantastic. I love it there and my husband does too. He has dementia so he thinks he works there. He was a security guard before therefore he thinks he's security. He just fits in and loves the people there. I'm so happy to see my husband getting great care. I've seen the food too and watched them eat. It smells so good. They have activities there as well. They have art and play domino and bingo. Matter of fact, he runs the bingo. He thinks he's in charge of it. It's like another world for him and for me. His room is gorgeous. He has a roommate, and they get along perfect. They have a TV in there. My husband has his nice bed, a dresser with all his clothes and stuff in there. It's ALWAYS so neat when I go in there. In addition, Keisha is so caring and loving. She takes all of us like family. She calls me every day to make sure me and my sisters are fine, that I work on time and I get back home. She's been asking about my sisters too. It's difficult for me to be home alone without him but to drive up there and see that he's happy, it makes me happy. I've never seen a place like this. It's absolutely phenomenal. "

"The best memory unit for someone who needs one is Arden Courts of Delray Beach. The residents can go outside on their own. There's 12 doors they can go in and out of wherever they want. They don’t feel like they are locked in, but they sort of are because there's a fence. It's gated, but you don’t see the gate. They have bushes there. So it’s a nice feeling of being outside without feeling like you are fenced in, but they are. They have staff that are very well trained, and they keep their staff. They have been doing this memory care facility quite a while, and they know what they are doing. "

"We went to Discovery Village at Palm Beach Gardens. The location of the property felt isolated, which would be secure, but I found it a little unwelcoming. It was far from the town, but it appeared safe. The staff seemed attentive and cordial. The residents were engaging in morning exercise and arts and crafts. The resident ambassador took the time to review the day's activities with us and our family member. The resident ambassador helps orient new residents, which I thought was a good touch."
