"Ocean Hills Senior Living has only been opened a few months, and it had a very welcoming, calming feeling from the background classical music throughout the day. The receptionists are very mellow, calm, focused, and professional women. The rooms are a little bit smaller than where my mom was staying before, but the ceilings are very high with bright windows and pleasant window coverings, adequate lighting in the ceiling, wide entryways, and very large bathrooms to accommodate a wheelchair. They also have a kitchenette with a sink, a refrigerator and adequate closets. I'm very impressed with the staff who are caring and qualified, their uniforms are clean, and seem very focused. They ask questions about my mom to make sure they were giving her the care she needed. The chef aims to please the residents, and they are open to suggestions. It's the best food I've ever eaten in a retirement home. They have a lounge where they have entertainment. It's all glass on one side, and French doors open up into a center courtyard, which has a beautiful rose garden. I've sat with my mom for breakfast, and I wish their coffee was hotter. They take them on trips, have a gym, exercise classes, sing-alongs, trivia games, and ice cream social."

"I visited. They gave me a lot of information. They were very nice. I didn't try any of the food, but I did see it and it looked good. The rooms were decent. There was no smell. They were clean. I saw a salon, swimming lessons, an art studio, a place where they held bingo and stuff, and a game room."

"My mother moved into Belmont Village Sabre Springs and is now adjusting quite well. She now refers to it as the hotel, which is a good thing. With her particular level of dementia, they have created a particular program called A Circle of Friends. So they help her with her needs in the mornings, and she joins her Circle of Friends for the day. After her final meal in the evening we hired outside help for a couple of hours when she tends to have Sundown Syndrome, and they help her get ready for bed. So her whole day is pretty full, and she seems to sleep pretty well. Her circle of friends are the same every day, and are in the same level of dementia that she is. They keep them busy with activities and current activities, and they do a great job of that. The living environment is very clean and they keep it very well-maintained. The restaurant there continues to have a daily special for each meal, and they also have a reliable menu with different items. So there's a lot of variety available. They have movies, a little bit of wine tastings in the afternoon, and all of that comes with entertainment. They honor whatever holiday it is, and they involve the residents in the best possible way. They are keeping them active with projects, arts and crafts, and trivia; it's a pretty novel program. The staff is always very responsive. The food is excellent, I've dined in the dining room a couple of times. and it's been great. I'm going to say that for the price we're getting exactly what we need."

From the time we entered the building for a tour of the facility, we experienced nothing but the best possible feelings from every staff person to the folks living there. James did a superb job of explaining everything, leaving us without the need for any more questions. We look forward to enjoying the long list of programs and services they have to offer."

"Westmont of Carmel Valley is a place that I would want to retire to. It is beautiful. It looks very open. It had a lot of beautiful outdoor space. I wanted to sit down and go knit with some of the women who were there. The different places to eat at looked lovely and open. It's a beautiful place where you could just retire and spend your days. It feels more kind of a resort. I liked their bar/bistro area where you could just sit for the day with a drink or a snack. It was big and bright. The downside was the price, because you have to pay for that beauty, and it's definitely on the high end, but if you had the money, that would be a wonderful place for you to go."

"We toured Belmont Village La Jolla. They were nice. It's too expensive and too much of a commute for my brother. They had activities. The food was great. They had a courtyard. They had views. They had all kinds of interactions with the residents. They had outings for the residents. They were just wonderful. The rooms were big and spacious, and the studios were wonderful."

"My mom is at Lantern Crest. The facility itself is relatively new and well organized. The staff seems very attentive and very communicative with all that's happening. She has only been there a month now. They're proactive with giving us updates, and they seem very caring. They give you a calendar of activities of everything going on, but I don't know if that calendar changes due to pandemic or not. There's not a lot of variety. They don't have a pool in the assisted living part, but they have a beauty salon, a nail salon, a movie theater, a restaurant, and a secure outdoor area."

"Guardian Angel Villa was most definitely unlike any other facility that I have ever visited. It was a large home that was turned into a handicapped accessible caregiving facility - and it had very few clients inside - which made it perfect for specialized individual care. The lady there was very nice, and paid special attention to each client. She had a very warm and caring personality that created a positive atmosphere as soon as she walked into the room - and my client talked to her as a friend rather than as an RN. Although it was a small facility, it was ran and organized just as a large facility would be. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone in the San Diego area that is looking for a family-owned individual care plan for their elderly relative. "

"I had a tour in Heritage Park Escondido Senior Community. The staff had been very friendly and knowledgeable. I liked that the ground was very clean and was kept up very nicely. The rooms in that community were very pretty. I really liked the way they had their closets set up and the different things about the place. Plus, the rooms were in covered space compared to the other places I visited. They had kitchens in there too. That was why they didn't have a dining room. They had a recreation room though. They used it as a dining room sometimes. I also heard that they tried to have some activities, but nobody seemed to participate. Eventually, they gave up on it. However, there was a bus stop in front of the facility, so accessibilty was not a problem. In general, it was quite a good visit in Heritage Park! "
