"Sparr Heights Estates Senior Living was a very good place. The people were very nice, both the staff and the residents. We got to meet a lot of them. It was just a nice, clean facility, and I would recommend it. The apartments had a bed, a nightstand, and a desk. They were clean and it had a nice bathroom. So, the apartments were very presentable. It was just very pleasant. The person that did the tour was a nice girl. The building was good. The only drawback, if there is one, is that it's on a fairly busy street, and if somebody wanders out into the street, they could get run over."

"I toured Belmont Village Hollywood Heights. It was a quick tour. The reason why was because I was looking more for a respite place. From what I saw, it was really, really nice. It was very well kept. It looked very nice. It appeared that they had some very nice facilities from what I saw that. It was a good-looking place and it looked very well maintained. The staff members were very professional and very friendly. They showed me a suite and a room, and they were both very nice. It was very well presented. They had a good concierge at the front. It looked very nice. I saw the library; it looked nice. They had a community center. I saw the dining area very quickly. Those are basically the things I saw. From what I can see from the appearance, it was very nice."

The residents furnished their apartments; they showed me one furnished very nicely. They showed me the restaurant -- it had a nice setting, and they had a small backyard. They need to improve on the parking space; it was small. "

"La Mirada Heights was very nice. The place was very big and very pleasant. It was very clean, and there were no odors or anything like that. It was very well-kept. I didn't really experience it in terms of eating or anything, but the dining area was very nice. The staff was very nice and pleasant. The place also had a library and a gym."

"The staff was very welcoming and warm. The facilities were quite nice. We were impressed. The room that we were considering had a nice view, but when we got down to selecting it, they told us that that room wasn't available and the other room was one that faced out to the parking lot, and we really didn't like that. The staff listened well and the gal that took us on the tour knew all the residents' names, so she greeted them by name and that was very impressive."

"I should have brought my mother here a long time ago. We tried the more corporate places, but my mother feels happier here. The care is unmeasureable and the staff is great to work with. I am able to be her son, and enjoy our time, and not her doctor or medication nurse. "

"I toured and they had the most amenities out of the places I visited. They had the option of having care coming in versus having to take somebody out. They had little trips going to different places, and they have a facility there for parking your car if you wanted to -- if you're still in that mode. It just seemed like they had different things that would have been going on were it not for COVID; those kinds of things are very important for older people. The staff were very nice. You can make the apartments your own, and if you really needed, you could borrow from them if you didn't have the right size -- like my couch would not fit in there. They don't seem to provide any kind of cooking facility inside the room. They had a small refrigerator. I could see the people interacting with each other in a really nice manner. One staff member was able to kind of tease back and forth while talking about what they were doing that day. It was just kind of nice watching the interaction between the staff and the clientele there. I rate them highly because of the overall appearance, the camaraderie between the staff and the clientele, and the amenities that were offered there. It was a country-living kind of place. There were places out there where you could walk along the sidewalks or on small trails. It wasn't in woods or anything; it just had more of a country feel to it, and that appealed to me."

"My mother did not want to go into a convalescent home-feeling place and Clearwater at Glendora was the only place that I found that did not have that kind of feel. It's private pay and fortunately, my mother has the resources to do that. So, that's why we chose it. Our move-in experience was very good. The building is excellent. It's a new build. It's just about a year old. So, everything's fresh. They have daily activities. Mom played bingo and it was very nice. They have a gym, a salon, a physical therapist for hire if you need additional physical therapy and a restaurant-type dining facility. They have a chef. It's a very nice place, probably more than what my mother needs. Everybody I've dealt with so far has been wonderful and the community of residents seems very happy there. I haven't had any of the food yet, but my mother seems to be okay with the few meals that she's had. They have two courtyards, and they're in a residential community that is easily walkable, for those who can walk. My experience has been just excellent from beginning to end."

"It has been a positive experience with Artesia Christian Home for the most part. My mom's room is pretty nice. It's a 1-bedroom with a full bath and kitchenette. The facility is also pretty nice and above average. They have a lot of activities for the residents, and the food is pretty good. The place is really clean and it's been kept up really well. They have nice furniture in the lounging areas."

"Palm Court Retirement Living is the best of the best. It's a lot of money, but it's still the best. It's perfect. It's very private, luxurious, very nice like you're going on vacation somewhere and you have everything. It's a small studio, but with everything, a nice, modern bathroom. In the corner, there's a little, kind of kitchen, so you can put a microwave for example, and then super, super, the balcony, or the terraza, the patio, is perfect for the first floor or the ground floor. The view of the bushes, the plants, they're beautiful. The street is like a private street."

"We went to see West Park Senior Living in San Dimas and toured for independent living. The room I saw was beautiful. It had a balcony with trees outside and a beautiful view. The room was fairly big, the closet was enormous, which is great, and the bathroom was very safe for an older person. Those are the things I liked. I didn't like that we had to get in the elevator on the first floor to get to the room. Unfortunately, that's where all the people who wear diapers live, so the place just smelled terrible. I think it would be very discouraging to my aunt to have to get on that elevator every day and smell that, then go up. We went to the seventh floor to see the advertised apartment. If they could close that off somehow so as not to see the people in the wheelchairs who were crying and needed change, it would be better. It was just very sad and heartbreaking. I would not want to see or smell that every day in the place I live. The person who gave us the tour was a very nice gal, but she was a new hire, and I don't think she knew all the answers to the questions that we had. She didn't know very much, but she was kind and sweet. They had a library there. They also have some sitting areas where there is some green grass, which is very nice. There were a lot of walking spaces around the building. It was a very large building, too, probably seven stories high."
