"CityView's rooms are very clean and user-friendly for the residents. They’re a good size and big enough to be comfortable. The food was very good, healthy, and had some good choices. They had a nice variety of activities for different types of interests and people."

"The Leonard on Beverly was beautiful. It's wonderful, but it's too far away. My daughter lives in Burbank, and it took over an hour to drive there, so that wouldn't work for us. It was brand new, and it had beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. The rooms were fine. The staff was very helpful and very friendly."

"Beverly Hills Carmel Retirement Hotel is a five star facility. Staying in this facility is like staying in a hotel. The staff members are cheerful, welcoming and full of energy. The facility is well decorated and clean. Loved ones are well taken care off. This facility is five out of five and I would hifgly recommend. "

"Belmont Village Westwood was more like the Four Seasons for old people. It would have been fine, but to me, it was a bit snobby. With that being said, it was amazing. They have a pool, and they have this equipment to lift old people into the pool. Every resident was so into it. They were having so much fun. The staff was very nice. They made it very clear that they were very exclusive, and if my parents were there, they would definitely be part a really cool little community."

"AvantGarde Senior Living is very nice. The grounds are very well-kept and very clean. Mom's room is nice. It's well done, very cozy, and comfy. The staff seems very friendly, and very attentive to her needs. They communicate well. They're doing some exercise classes, they do movies, they take them on trips, and they have music therapy. So, they keep them pretty busy. The dining area is clean. I haven't tried the food but they have a variety of options."

"Warm, inviting, and impressive inside and out. The Atria community in Tarzana is beautiful and gave an amazing tour. Excellent food and an excellent selection of activities to choose from. My husband and I were also very impressed that they offered Shabbat. "

"My dad moved into the Villas at Astoria Park Senior Living a year ago, and we couldn’t be happier with the decision. After touring several other communities, we were drawn to this one because of its small, close-knit atmosphere and the fact that the apartments and amenities were newer. However, the real deciding factor was Trishia, who has been absolutely wonderful from day one. Trishia truly cares about the residents and is always coming up with creative ways to keep them engaged, encouraging them to get out of their apartments and participate in the community. Her energy and kindness are unmatched, and it's clear that she genuinely loves what she does. The Villas at Astoria Park Senior Living has given my dad a new lease on life, and we are so grateful to Trishia and the entire team. I genuinely thought he would be staying in his room and not very social, but it’s just the opposite. He participates in everything. I highly recommend this community to anyone looking for a place where their loved ones will feel cared for and connected."

"Sakura Gardens provides a positive and nurturing environment for senior living, especially in the Legacies/Memory Care unit where my mother resides. The facility is bright, airy and clean. The shared room are fairly spacious and upkept very neatly. The staff is well-organized, trained and very caring. Beyond the level of care that I deem to be at a very high level, the reinforcement of the Japanese culture and heritage in the facility is a huge plus for my mother and comforting for the family, knowing she is in a place that offers familiarity to her heritage. The Japanese cuisine that is offered in addition to its normal Western menu along with the various cultural activities allow the residents to feel comfortable in the surroundings and a peaceful setting to live out their final years. Our family has noticed that our mother is visibly happy there and socializes with the other residents and staff. We are grateful to have such a facility serving our community. Transitioning my mother to a sr. living facility was difficult, but knowing that Sakura Gardens would provide the proper amenities and environment for her, gave us peace of mind. "

"Hollenbeck Palms was beautiful. It's just that they wanted half a million dollars to get in. The staff was terrific. They have a bar and dance halls. They have somebody there in assisted living all the time, but you're not locked in your room, you can leave anytime. Everything was nice. They take you wherever you need to go."

"For somebody who needs a lot of help, Pasadena Highlands was very good. At that time, I needed it for my husband, who needed assistance in cooking and housekeeping. The staff was very helpful. They were well organized and the place was clean. They go out somewhere, and they had activities inside also. They had a schedule of activities that the residents do every day or every week. It seemed like they help them not just stay in the rooms. It's pretty pricey, and the room wasn't furnished. From the menu, the food looked pretty good, and they had a nice dining area. They had laundry and housekeeping. The place looked very nice and secure."

"Palm Court may not be the newest retirement community around, but I'm so glad I placed my loved one there! The community has a certain charm to it and the entire staff is excellent...many have worked at Palm Court for quite some time, which is not standard in this industry. I don't know why other people have complained about the food--my loved one residing there and I think it's very tasty! It must be tough to make 3 meals a day for 90 or so residents that everyone will enjoy. Everyone has different taste buds, likes and dislikes, and an opinion of how food should be cooked and prepared. Also, each apartment has a kitchenette so residents are able to purchase some of their favorite foods desired that the community may not offer. My loved one also gets daily housekeeping services, which are not offered at other communities unless you want to pay extra. And, the activities at Palm Court are top notch! There is always something to do! Plus, residents have the added bonus of living right next to the Culver City Senior Center for extra activities. I would highly recommend Palm Court to anyone!"

"I toured Westmont of Culver City. The facilities are very new. It is very nice, clean and organized. It looks like there's a lot of space, and the staff seems to be quite professional. The staff members were very responsive, too. They greeted us quickly and they took care of us. They seemed very helpful and professional. They offered us some snacks and drinks, but we didn't take any. The atmosphere felt okay but it felt like a shopping mall. The layout of the rooms was very modern. There are wide hallways and high ceilings, so it felt very open."
