"It was very difficult searching for a memory care setting for my mom. She loves gardening, listening to music, and going for walks. We picked Villagio because we realized our mom can continue doing the same things she enjoyed before she was diagnosed. The person is charge of activities does a great job and every time we visit our mom is very happy. I look forward to getting the activities calendar every month to see what fun things the staff has planned. "

"I will move into Sunnycrest Senior Living. It has a great program, the food is good, and the programs they put on during the day and at various times look interesting. It's close to a good hiking path or for walking. The atmosphere is great. The tenants that I met all seemed happy. It was clean and wonderfully kept, and had a nice courtyard. All the rooms were very nice. They have a gym, libraries, card playing, game rooms, and stuff like that. They were wonderful. All the people I met were first class."

"I toured La Mirada Heights. I fell in love with that location. I even want to live there. I even met, I don't know if it was the cleaning lady or the kitchen lady. They speak our language because we speak Spanish. That's our main first language. They came up to us while we were waiting for the person who was going to give us the tour. They were hanging out with us, talking to us and letting us know how everything worked, and hoping my father would choose their place. I told him that my concern was the price range. I was looking for something affordable because we didn't have much to work with. So, based on that, he showed me the lower end of their price range. So, the room was small, but it worked perfectly for what was needed, which was just a place to sleep. Other than that, the place was very clean. I love that place very, very much."

"My aunt and uncle moved to Bayshire Yorba Linda. They can accommodate a lot of things. The grounds are kept clean and the atmosphere is very inviting. It was very spacious. It didn't seem like everything was kind of crammed in. The people that we met there were very helpful and very kind. We haven't run into any problems as far as helping my aunt and uncle. The food is very good. My uncle is not as social as my aunt. Even within memory care, they have a lot of activities to stimulate their brain, and to keep them busy. We've been very happy with the available activities. The value of memory care is awesome. It's pretty reasonable."

"I did take a tour, and it was pretty good but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, specifically for my mom's needs. Overall, it was not a bad place. It was clean and the room was nice. I was impressed with the room. It was a second-floor room, the one they had available, and everything looked pretty clean. I didn't like that it was a multiple-floor building because I wanted my mom to be on the first floor but they only had a room available on the second floor."

"My mom is here. She has only been there a few weeks. The people that work there seem very helpful and very nice. My mom seems to like it. They do Bible studies and exercising. She has gone to bingo. She has a pretty good size room. "

"My overall experience at Emerald Court was wonderful. It was great. I met a whole bunch of people. They took time to talk to me. It was very nice. I looked at one room and it overlooked the parking lot, which I knew my mother wouldn't like. It was also on the second floor. I asked if they had a first floor and she said in 30 days they were going to have one. We went down, and it had a little atrium off the sliding glass door. When you come out the front door, you'll see a beautiful courtyard. They're going to remodel the room. They're very amenable, giving us a $2,000 moving cost, and I'm hoping my mother is going to like it. I met the chef who has been there for 27 years, and before I left he brought me two big, homemade cookies from the kitchen. Everything is pretty comparable because they have a menu that you could choose from. Most of the places have two entrees, but they only have one entree, and then you can pick something else from the menu like sandwiches, hamburgers, and stuff like that. Their dining room is pretty plain. I told my mother it wasn't as fancy as the one she's in. They're going to open up their dining room next week. Yesterday, when we were there, they were playing bingo separated with their masks on. At least they have some activities, which my mother is not getting right now."

"I went to visit my great aunt at the Villas. I was so impressed by the beautiful property and even more impressed by the amazing staff. I was lucky enough to visit during the weekly Happy Hour in the club room. Everyone was so friendly, catching up on their week, and enjoying hors d'oeuvre and a glass of wine before heading to the dining room for dinner. I am so happy my aunt lives in such a loving, positive environment, where she has been able to make so many friends."

"I visited The Meridian at Anaheim Hills and toured their memory care for my mom. It was nice and organized, and everybody was very caring. It seemed like it had good activity programs. The memory care was clean and well-organized. They had a dining area and an activity room. The staff who toured me around was also very knowledgeable."

"After my father passed away, my brother and I started looking for a facility for my mother to spend her remaining years. After visiting several places, we found Walnut Village in Anaheim, Ca. Our mother has been a resident now for 5 years. It is a first class facility....that is no exaggeration. It is truly the quality of Celebrity Cruise Line on land. From the staff, the cleanliness, the dining room which looks like a 5 star restaurant that has menu items like Filet, Scampi, and beautiful salads and even a salad bar. To the piano lounge with "Happy Hour" every night. Residents can bring their own drinks or use "wine lockers" there. They offer various types of assisted living services including an entire memory care unit. The facility has a very unique way in determining the monthly fee you pay. The facility even has church services on site for various denominations as well a full exercise programs, library, arts and crafts room and even on-site hair salon. An underground parking garage is there for residents who drive. They have a shuttle that takes residents to appointments, shopping and even a day trip monthly to Pechanga Casino and wine country. Everything is included so no money is ever exchanged. 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms are offered and cleaning and daily nurse visits are provided. It is right near Disneyland so the residents can enjoy the nightly fireworks. If you want your loved one(s) in a first class living facility, Walnut Village is it!!"

"This was one of the better assisted living facilities I've ever visited as a student volunteer. The institution is divided into two wards: those who need constant medical attention and supervision and those who can care for themselves. Every week, I visited the later ward to provide some recreational activities. Each of the residents gets their own room and bathroom, which they decorated with their personal touch. The overall atmosphere is a gentile and friendly one. A few of the residents gets upset or depressed because they haven't seen their family in a while. But some of the residents who have lived there longer try to cheer them up by inviting them to tea or some recreational game. The supervisors always make sure that the residents have something to do most of the time. They have an aviary with some of the most charming singing birds, and a rec room with musical instruments and books. I understand that to upkeep a facility like this one comes at a considerable costs, which is the main compliant I've heard from other families. But, their loved ones receive the care that they should be receiving from home."

"I visited Atria to see if this facility would be appropriate for my 90 year old father. I was very impressed with this facility. It was very clean and the rooms were very nice. The dining room was like a fine dining restaurant. The activity center was busy with residents playing games. At the time I visited they were planning to expand the facility to accommodate Alzheimer's and dementia residents. Although I have not been back, I understand that they have since opened this expansion. I would recommend checking into this facility. "

"Our parents have been at Sakura for almost a year, and their overall experience has been very positive. The facilities are nice and clean, and, more importantly, our parents are content and doing as well as can be expected. We have found Daniel, Shin, and the rest of the staff to be responsive, attentive, and proactive. This has been particularly true as to one of our parents, who needs assistance from staff with some activities of daily living. We have also been impressed with the job they have done navigating the pandemic and arranging for residents to receive the appropriate vaccines. Needless to say, we worry about our parents constantly, but we worry about them less since they moved to Sakura."
