"La Posada is an assisted living, it's terrific, the staff is absolutely fantastic, and the food is good. They have all kinds of activities, games, they even give them haircuts, and clip their toenails. There are nurses on duty all the time. They're an absolutely great facility. They also have hospice. It's a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for. The food is very good."

"My wife stayed at Sparr Heights Estates Senior Living for respite care. She was in the memory care section because that's all they had available, but they allowed her free reign. Her level of care was a little bit higher. I like the very quick response and interaction of the people there and the staff, and their professionalism. The cleanliness is just above board. In the dining room, they put out the menu for each meal on each table, and then the resident gets to select what they want from the menu each day. Then they publish the menu for the week on a big board where you come into the dining room. Their level of activities is quite good given that it's a single building complex. It doesn't have any external grounds that I know of, but they have a big inside patio where they have plants and flowers. It is a growing station so that the residents there can come out and water the plants; they can grow plants. My wife's room was right on the patio with a sliding glass door, so she had access to go out onto the patio and sit any time she wanted in the garden-like atmosphere. Their staff was excellent, they were outstanding. I had an early dinner with my wife when I was out there. The kitchen staff, and the dining room supervisor, were all just great. The food was awesome. I don't know how much better to say it, my wife enjoyed that. The only problem my wife has with some of these senior care facilities is many of the people are not as engaged mentally as she is. My wife's a writer, so she still reads and writes poetry. She doesn't think she's old. The facility probably looks a little better than some of the places I have been into. It looks like a big apartment complex, but it's very well kept. They have a nice ramp next to the entry, as well as stairs. They've got automatic doors. You're greeted, and you go in. The office is immediately in front of you. The activities director worked with us quite a bit when we were there. They set up a poetry reading for my wife. My wife took one of her main poetry books with her. They have a lot of activities. They do well for what they have. I think the value for money is excellent."

"My father is in memory care at Hollywood Hills, and he has been there for two weeks now. Everybody is friendly, and it's clean. I don't really have any complaints. His room is clean, large, and spacious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The building is very nice and clean. So far, I'm pretty satisfied with it. However, it's really expensive."

"I liked Oakmont of Whittier a lot. It was just totally out of my price range. The rooms were very spacious with minimal furniture, but it could be made into a comfortable space and dressed up into whatever you wanted it to be. It was good. Their theater room was like a mini theater, and it was beautiful. Nice, spacious, walkways, staircases, and chandeliers; it was extremely nice. It would have cost much more than what’s within my budget. But the personnel were very helpful. They had beautiful dining areas with tablecloths and napkins; it looked more like a restaurant. They had serving areas that the people could kind of see the food being prepared and then served to them. The Alzheimer’s unit was one of the locations that they were going to put my brother in because they had more caregivers there, and I didn’t think that was the best fit for him, but he did need more care. If they have had space for him and the money was right, this is where he would have been. "

"When our father reached the point where we could no longer care for him at home, we were fortunate to have found Belmont Village in Burbank to care for him. He has truly enjoyed his time there. High on his list has been the great food served in their dining room, the wide range of music events performed by local professionals and the fun tours in their sightseeing bus. But the biggest plus has been the Belmont Village staff. These people not only provide great care for the residents, they truly enjoy being with the residents and it shows. A casual visit there will always show the staff laughing and joking with all the people there, everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. I would recommend Belmont Village to anyone who is looking for good home for a member of their family. "

"We’re lucky to get dad in Belmont Village Hollywood Heights. We already did the contract, and we’re moving him in on Sunday. He will be in the assisted living level, but they have a separate level that’s kind of in between, and they call it Circle of Friends. It’s something that they’ve been doing for a little while where they do match up the people of equal brain ability into kind of a circle, and they’re going to be incorporated in this ongoing constant all day long program or as much of the program that they want to be a part of. They eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner together. They have discussion groups together. I thought that really sounds like something my dad would love. He liked the idea, and that’s really what sold the place for me. I think it’s a good fit. My dad loves food, and they have a chef and a really nice restaurant dining room environment. It’s a little more expensive, too, especially because of all the ongoing care that my father would have, and they watch him a little more often, too. I’m paying for a little higher level of care as well. So far, from what I’ve seen, everyone is really nice. The place is very upscale, very clean, and very elegant. I have a friend of mine whose mom lives there. He says it’s an amazing place, and his mother loves living there. It’s like living in a 4-star hotel but with a lot of care. "

"I liked CityView, but it's very pricey, and there's no outdoor area. It's out in the city, so there are no grounds. It's nice and clean, but it's a little dark inside for me. They take the residents out, and they play bingo. The place was lovely, and the staff was very accommodating and very nice. They also showed me the memory care where you have to share a room with somebody."

"We visited the Bethany Towers assisted living facility while searching for a suitable assisted living facility for our great aunt. Many of our family members live in the area, so this would be an ideal place for her to live. The outer grounds looked well-kept and pleasant. The staff greeted us and seemed very warm and friendly - which is the most important thing to our family. We want our aunt to be treated well in his new home. The foyer was nicely decorated and seemed homey, as did all of the communal rooms. The private spaces were all clean, well-kept and conveniently designed. They take the time to personalize to each resident's tastes. The dining areas were nicely designed and warm. Residents may choose communal dining or more private situations. There are places for them to visit with families, as well. The food looked deliciously prepared, as well as nutritious. The dietician and chef changes up the menu to keep it interesting and encourage resident to make suggestions. The activity calendar features many healthy and stimulating activities. They have outings to local libraries, events, culture, restaurants, shopping and athletic events. They take suggestions to update the schedule as much as possible. We really liked that the staff encourages participation and tries to make everything interesting for its residents. Staff appeared to make every effort to ensure that the residents were both safe and comfortable in this living environment. "

"The tour I had at Coral Oaks Care Living was decent. The staff was very friendly. They were really good with what they needed to do. I did not care for the facility as much though. I felt it to be outdated, and it had more of a hospital feeling to it. It seemed a little outdated from what other living situations were. The rooms were OK. It's more of the environment that everyone's in. So, they can't really move anywhere else besides the rooms. There weren't really facilities to go anywhere, and then their outdoor facilities were very basic. It was just a concrete patio and a wall around them. I understand that it is winter, but there were no plants. I could see there would be nothing to do, and if I was there and I was elderly, I would be bored out of my mind. I believe their rooms were shared or one room. It's like a hospital room setting where you can have one room for yourself or you can have two and you share. It's OK because you pay a little bit less for that. The reason I'm also listing it as a three is because they have a salad bar that they offer at all times of the day. You can just come over and get some potato salad, macaroni salad, and stuff. It was 11:00 when I went to go to see this facility, and it looked like they were out the day before, and then they put it back out. I would not eat it, and I would not have my father eat it. Nevertheless, the staff was willing to answer any questions. They showed me everything I needed to. They were going to work with me on all my dad's issues that he had."

"It was very clean and very beautiful. It's got beautiful gardens and beautiful accommodations. The staff gave me a tour of the memory care. They were very, very knowledgeable. They have crafts, yoga, and different activities. The dining room was beautiful. They also have a TV room that's very clean and very nice. Another thing was I don't have to make appointments to go see my sister if I place her there and people can go visit her. It's open 24 hours. So, that's a plus because sometimes you'd make an appointment and it's hard to get there. So, you're able to go there when you can. I'm in love with that place."
