"I love volunteering at Solheim because the care and companionship they provide for their residents is definitely something to note. It really sets them apart from other communities I've volunteered at over the years. Solheim has always been one of the happiest environments I visit. Residents are always busy doing a fun activity like enjoying live music with their friends, going on outings, participating in painting classes, playing various games, and so much more. There is a skilled nursing facility on site (like a hospital setting) so if your loved one needs any kind of rehab after a fall or surgery, they can take care of them right here in the comfort of their own community and with help of the super friendly staff onsite. Staff and residents always seem to have a smile on their face! The cleanliness here is also something to note. Everything I have learned about Solheim over the years I have liked and would recommend this community to any of my family members any day! And everyone else too!"

"We visited many assisted living facilities in the Los Angeles area before we chose Belmont Village Burbank for my father. Belmont Village Burbank was not only the nicest and most cheerful facility by far, the costs there are very competitive and are indeed toward the lower end of what we saw when we were looking. The facility is very clean and very cheerful. My father was very lonely and depressed after the death of my mother. He has made new friends at Belmont Village Burbank. The many activities there bring him joy and comfort. He loves the musical performances in the afternoons and he loves to play Trivia on Thursday nights. My husband and I often join him at many of the activities. We chose a pet-friendly facility so that our three dogs could visit their grandpa, and our dogs are always welcomed by the staff and the residents at Belmont Village Burbank. My father often comments on the fact that all of the staff members know his name. We have seen how kind and caring all the staff members are. The administrators have always been very warm and gracious to us and are always available to help. We highly recommend Belmont Village Burbank. "

"Sparr Heights Estates Senior Living was a very good place. The people were very nice, both the staff and the residents. We got to meet a lot of them. It was just a nice, clean facility, and I would recommend it. The apartments had a bed, a nightstand, and a desk. They were clean and it had a nice bathroom. So, the apartments were very presentable. It was just very pleasant. The person that did the tour was a nice girl. The building was good. The only drawback, if there is one, is that it's on a fairly busy street, and if somebody wanders out into the street, they could get run over."

"We went to Ivy Park at Burbank. It was a very beautiful building. It was newer. It was my second choice. Price-wise, it fits the price of where my mom is at now. The trouble I would have had with them is just that it's in a busier section of town. They have three parking spaces for visitors, but if you're visiting your parents there, you have to park several blocks away, so that is super annoying. It's very busy, and the traffic getting there would have been a bigger hardship than where she is now. However, the views from the foothills are very pretty from all the common areas. It was a very pretty facility. It was on par with the other place. It felt like it was designed specifically for senior assisted living. In my mind, it was a toss-up, but when my mom saw this other place, she said she liked it and she felt like she would be comfortable there, so I canceled our second appointment with Ivy Park because she had already made up her mind. The staff members answered all my questions. They were good at responding to the emails that I sent, but in person, I would say they were a little more formal and stiff and not as open or friendly as the members from the other places."

"I was very happy with my mother's stay at Regency Park Oak Knoll. I was particularly happy with all the activities that they offered. My mother is still quite able-bodied, and they paired her with a group of similarly active people. Everyone on the staff seemed personally invested and treated residents with a genuine kindness. I highly recommend Regency Park Oak Knoll."

"We visited the Bethany Towers assisted living facility while searching for a suitable assisted living facility for our great aunt. Many of our family members live in the area, so this would be an ideal place for her to live. The outer grounds looked well-kept and pleasant. The staff greeted us and seemed very warm and friendly - which is the most important thing to our family. We want our aunt to be treated well in his new home. The foyer was nicely decorated and seemed homey, as did all of the communal rooms. The private spaces were all clean, well-kept and conveniently designed. They take the time to personalize to each resident's tastes. The dining areas were nicely designed and warm. Residents may choose communal dining or more private situations. There are places for them to visit with families, as well. The food looked deliciously prepared, as well as nutritious. The dietician and chef changes up the menu to keep it interesting and encourage resident to make suggestions. The activity calendar features many healthy and stimulating activities. They have outings to local libraries, events, culture, restaurants, shopping and athletic events. They take suggestions to update the schedule as much as possible. We really liked that the staff encourages participation and tries to make everything interesting for its residents. Staff appeared to make every effort to ensure that the residents were both safe and comfortable in this living environment. "

"My aunt moved into Astoria Park Senior Living. We chose them because they had memory care in addition to assisted living, so that she could transition, and it was also in her price range. The staff knew who my aunt was right away, and from the time I went in, they knew exactly who she was. They could give me information about what was going on with her, and that was within 24 hours of her being there. The facility is spotless. It's laid out very nicely for the residents. There are no stairs or steps anywhere. It is beautifully decorated and very clean. It looks like walking into a fancy hotel. I have looked at the menu, and it looks nice. They have lots of options. They have a dinner special every day. They have options if they don't want whatever the dinner special is. My aunt's review of the food is that it's very good. She has only done a couple of things with them because her stay there has been very short so far. But, looking at their calendar of events, they have lots of opportunities for the residents to do things."

"Sakura Gardens of Los Angeles was a very good place especially for memory care service. We liked that, but their fee was so expensive. They had a private garden for memory care, and the facility was so clean. It's one of the best. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable, explained everything from the monitoring to the menu. She showed me the rooms and the restrooms, and there were two persons per room."

"I went to visit Hollenbeck Palms, and the walkthrough was very nice. It's a very impressive building, and the grounds and facilities were very nice. The staff was helpful and brought a lot of information. My only issue was the pricing, it was higher than what I was capable of or willing to pay. They have both shared and private rooms. In the outside area, the grounds are large -- and it's a lot of areas -- and so for the residents there, they're available to them, so it's very nice. If I could afford it, it would have been great, but I just couldn't. The staff who accommodated me was very nice and very good."

"Sunrise Beverly Hills is a lovely, hotel-like facility with professional, caring staff and provides all of the comforts of home in roomy suites. They have a movie theatre and a long list of daily activities to keep things interesting for those residents who care to partake. My mom enjoyed flower arranging, pet visits, scenic rides, she's not much of a joiner, but there were plenty of things to do for someone that wants that. She had dementia, which progressed quickly, and during Covid, when her family was no longer able to visit her, they moved her up to the Reminiscence floor. There she received excellent memory care and a lot of attention from the small staff that she quickly befriended and was comfortably familiar with. They took excellent care of her and made sure to supervise frequent family FaceTime calls and eventually socially distanced outdoor visits, so mom wouldn't feel as isolated. It was a difficult time for all of us, but Sunrise BH made it much easier, giving us the peace of mind that our mother was seen and cared for in a very kind, loving environment, where she was safe and her needs were met. So many of the staff deserve kudos, but I especially appreciate Reminiscence Dir., Aurora and Laurie the Dir. of nursing staff. Jason runs a wonderfully tight ship with a friendly, happy atmosphere.
