PA Peterson at the Citadel

We visited PA Peterson at the Citadel's assisted living. The place is much older and slightly gloomy. We were there on a beautiful sunny day and it was sort of dark inside. Some residents were outside, but it was giving more of a hospital vibe. Frankly, it was a hard no for us as soon as we were there. It just seems so dark and gloomy, and I don't know what they can do about that, but that was my overall impression. The other places we visited were very sunny and welcoming. The staff who accommodated us was fine. It was also just a brief tour, and we weren't interested. It was a bit more of a perfunctory tour. It's less informative and I thought we got a lot more information from the other places we have visited. They showed us the physical therapy room but my mother-in-law was bedridden, so we weren't interested in that. It also seemed much more aimed at rehabilitative therapy or perhaps it was just the person giving us the tour. My mother-in-law is 99 years old so that's not something we were looking for.

PA Peterson at the Citadel looks like a hospital setting but it looked clean. The entryway was inviting. The staff was friendly. Activities were available. There are weekly church services and some outings.

My wife is a resident of PA Peterson at the Citadel. I would not put her there if I didn't believe it was a good situation. They're very good. That's what they do. I communicate with the staff quite a bit in the open. They answer my questions. I like them. They're good. Everything is top-notch in this facility. I don't know how to put it any other way. I spent my time finding the right place, and that was the one. It's clean and organized, and there seems to be plenty of help.

I toured PA Peterson at the Citadel. I was surprised. I didn't even realize they had independent or assisted living. I mean, it's too small. I can't even get my bed into their bedroom. They needed to be redone because I did see an apartment, it wasn't for me, but the people were very nice, and the residents that I did see there seemed to be happy and content, which is always a good sign. They do have a different parking lot for independent living. It was hard to find a parking place. They had very few and they were kind of scattered. They did have a special parking lot, which I thought was nice because it's a lot easier to come and go, and a different entrance. The kitchen is a tiny little cubbyhole. The refrigerator and stove are there. The only thing you would have to supply is a microwave. There was very little counter space. So what little there was, the microwave would take up. It's one little tiny little corner because the main meal is provided. So, the only thing you would fix would be breakfast and supper. They have quite a menu. It's nice and it is a full meal. The staff was very courteous and she knew the residents. So I know she had a good rapport with them. The cleanliness, that's hard to judge because everywhere, they've been remodeling and redoing everything. It was kind of dirty on that but it was a construction site thing.

We toured PA Peterson at the Citadel. Nothing wrong with the facility. They had great care, but the facility is dated. They showed us a one-bedroom and a studio apartment. However, I wasn't going to put my mom there, and it was a personal thing. Everything's great. I know where she's coming from, and I don't think she would like it. They have common areas where everybody can meet. They have different levels of care there. Everything was fine, so you could go in there and get rehab. You could stay there longer, so all of that was good.

I liked PA Peterson at the Citadel. It was very nice. The people were friendly. I was satisfied with what I saw there. The room was so good. I just wasn't totally impressed with it, but it was nice and clean. The staff was very good.
