My father has a one-bedroom apartment. They offer cleaning services and laundry, and you can get different levels of care. They have different floor plans. They have a cafeteria on-site, a library, and a gym. It is connected to Emory University Hospital and because it's on the Emory University campus, they have buses that run all over Atlanta and all over the campus to go shopping. He can do things on the college campus as well as in the community. The facility is downtown Atlanta, but it's in a beautiful wooded area. The lady that I have been working with has been absolutely wonderful, very helpful, professional, and friendly. These are people you would want to be friends with. He has a kitchen in his apartment. He can go to the cafeteria or he can cook if he wants to. There are meeting rooms, workout room, common areas, and elevators. He's on the 13th floor, so he has a beautiful view, too. They are $1,000 lower than other facilities that we looked at. We're very happy where he's in. It's not just one building. It's a community atmosphere down there. With college students around, it's a very vibrant part of Atlanta.

Staff shortage. Little security. Old HVAC and electric. Only 1 meal a day with always overdone and tasteless food and ridiculous wait time. Very little transport. Be prepared for frustration and a definate institution versus retirement feel.
