What I first noticed when I drove up to Gloria's ALF, was it was a very small home, with street parking and in a very questionable neighborhood. I also noticed that if a resident wanted to sit outside to enjoy the outdoors, they would have to sit in the sunshine as there were no trees to offer shade, also there was no outside seating. When I went inside I noticed a nice aroma coming from the kitchen. The dinning room is compared to a private residence dinning room. The facility is very small so not much room inside, the rooms are fairly small. The bathrooms are shared. There is a staff member that lives on site. One of the residents let me know that some evenings they offer group singing, but as far as any other activities for the resident I didn't find any. I was also informed that the staff will tend to the resident's hair care needs and they also offer internet if the resident wants to use the computer. The things I liked the most were: It was like a small family living together The staff person I met seemed caring and kind The meals appeared healthy The things I didn't care for were: The neighborhood was a little rough Very tight quarters Not enough activities to keep the residents busy Not a nice outdoor setting
