My brother had a brain tumor, and I moved him to McIntosh Manor which was very nice. He was lucky to be able to get into something because he was supposed to go on a skilled nursing, but they wouldn’t take him because Medicare won’t. It was nice, but it wasn’t as luxurious but he liked it. They were short-staffed. My brother was a big guy, and it was hard for them till the end of his life. At night sometimes they only had one person, and they have fifteen or twenty residents. The caregivers were very attentive. They made sure he had his food, and everything. It looks very different from the other facilities. My husband calls it a mom-and-pop place because it was a large family home that had been converted to accommodate the residents.
