Pompano Retirement Village

We headed over to the Pompano Beach region to check out assisted living facilities for my friend's mother. The Pompano Retirement Village looked really well-maintained. My friend's family is spread around Florida, so he is hoping to find a suitable place for his mother so that everyone can visit often. The atmosphere around the grounds was pleasant and peaceful, with many nice seating areas. The main foyer was lovely - kind of like a country bed and breakfast. They seem to be able to handle all levels of ambulation. The communal areas were nicely designed and all easy to access. We could see seniors enjoying themselves doing a variety of things, from reading to social interactions and games. The dining room was spacious, fresh and bright. The food choices all looked nutritious and delicious, as well as the regular snacks, which are offered continually and whenever requested. Scheduled events included anything you can imagine - from casual and fine dining restaurants, art exhibits and libraries, to exercise, which my friend's mother particularly enjoys. Seniors also visit movie houses and host monthly parties for residents at the facility which they encourage family and friends to attend. The private living spaces were all sized well and were very nicely decorated. We could see that my friend's mother would be comfortable in any one of them. Each living unit had individually controlled temperatures. The residents we saw all looked very content in this lovely facility with caring and attentive staff.
