Austin House was the perfect residency for my mother. She lived there almost eight years. My mother was treated as if she was the mother of the women who work there. I always felt that there was good communication between myself and the staff there. they were very attentive to my mother's needs. Not only that, they literally saved her life more than once. When my siblings would come from out of town to visit they would always thank me for finding Austin House. This is a great HOME!

The first thing I noticed was their warm friendliness. Also, it has a small population and they have the ability to give specialized care. I didn't have a second option when I saw this facility. The fact that they watch my mother very closely and escorted her at all times, this made me happy with their service. The place is small enough to see when she's moving which is what I like. There is a language barrier but they are trying to overcome that. Most of the girls speak Spanish than English and mom does not talk any Spanish. That was a concern but they seemed to be very warm and caring. They listen to what the people want and try to give them that. The place is very clean and it's decorated beautifully. Right now we're waiting for a shared bedroom. She is currently in a communal bedroom while waiting. She hasn't made any comments about sharing the room. Though the room is shared, they keep it nice and everything and she's only there for sleeping. Their food is very home made and very delicious as I have eaten there a few times.
