I have had several friends who lived in Taylor Care Center and stayed there until the end of their lives. Most of their family members said they were so pleased with the care they provide; that's why I chose it for my husband, too. He's been there since January 27, and it's been a good experience. The rooms are kind of drab. I think they just need to freshen them up, but the staff has been excellent, responsive, and professional. In fact, he's getting a manicure right now, so he's really happy. He has had a few meals, and so far he said they tasted pretty good.

My mother was recently a patient in the care center for rehab. It is old - the bed, bedside table didn't work...the toilet seat was loose and the toilet wasn't caulked down. Very dangerous for someone older and in rehab! The food was atrocious but the help was worse. She would ring the bell and no one would come...over and over an over. Phones are shared and good luck trying to get a staff member actually bother to hand it to the patient. The staff is very apathetic and most are lazy - moving at a snail's pace. Very understaffed. My mother had excellent private insurance - not medicaid or just medicare but received terrible care. PT and OT were the only areas that really seemed engaged. Taylor needs to spend some of their foundation and donor money to update their care center to modern times, hire a new chef and hire engaged personnel who actually give a darn.
