My first priority deciding on an ALF/Memory Care facility: Medical care in a caring environment, provided by experienced staff. Choosing Elevated Estates, Brooksville met my requirements. The medical, support, and facility staffs attention to my husband was exactly what he needed. Yes, the facility is undergoing major physical renovations. While that was ongoing, it is clean, comfortable, and when something unexpected happened they addressed it practically immediately. I’m truly grateful for the care Elevated Estates Brooksville gave our family.

Don't go to Elevated Estates Brooksville. If I were trying to get rid of a rabid dog and take it to a pound, I would not take it to that facility. They showed me two so-called shared rooms. To be very specific, a shared room is the size of a small bedroom, and it has a half-wall dividing the two spaces. There's room for a small bed on each side. The bathroom door is nonexistent, and the toilet sits in the door right in the view of the person in the bed at the first bed. They can stare at you while you're on the john. Even if I divorced my husband, I wouldn't put him in there. Kay helped me during the tour. She was very sweet and very helpful, but she has a big sales job to do. It's under renovation, which is one of the reasons I went upstairs, because downstairs it's empty. The people who live there were milling around. However, it struck me more as a facility for the mentally impaired rather than the physically impaired. It's a place where you throw somebody away. I looked at their dining room. It looked decent. It was nice. It was set up probably as a restaurant-type dining room.

We went to Elevated Estates Brooksville. I didn't like anything about that place. It was a 150-year-old building. They were under construction. We walked in, and there was nobody in the lobby. There were people outside smoking and loitering. I couldn't tell who was a resident or a street person. We had an appointment, but we had to stand there and wait until somebody came by. It was a resident who was able to assist us, so that was a turn-off right there. We did meet somebody, but they couldn't show us anything because the whole place was under renovation. And they didn't really have a whole lot of grounds outside for people to walk around. It was more like in the city type, and what I saw was very dumpy. Anybody could walk in there, and there was no security. The staff only showed us some colored printouts of what the intended rooms would look like.
