I visited this facility

We have chosen Superior Residences of Brandon for my father. I chose it because of what I was shown by the staff and its location. Generally, it was the on-site tour. It looked like there was a lot of engagement. The activities director is engaging with the residents. There are a lot of medical services that come into the facility, which require my father not to have to leave the facility too much. They have a secure outdoor area. They have an area that looks like an outside town, and they go out of there. They have a salon and what appear to be small stores, so it was very welcoming. The director who is in charge of admissions, whose name is Laura, was very helpful and knowledgeable. She checked in on me every bit of the process, especially with the paperwork. She was very honest and very transparent. She seems like a very caring individual. Other staff members were very friendly, too. You can see them engaging and joking with the residents. They had a lot of workers moving around. It was extremely clean down to the rooms. You could tell the staff really keeps up on it. At that point, they were playing bingo, or they were doing some type of group activity. You could see that the caregivers were engaging. The director definitely seemed very compassionate about what she did. I stated that my dad is going to need a little bit more guidance and inclusion because he won't make a decision for himself anymore. I felt that she understood what I was saying, and she said that that's something that they actually do. They really get people engaged. They have different-level activities, so I was really happy about that.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife moved into Superior Residences of Brandon. I haven't noticed any activities that they provide so far. I know they bathe them twice a week, but not everyone should have to wait twice a week to bathe. There may be some people who need to bathe only twice a week, but others who, I am guessing, should bathe more often. So, that's one of the things that I don't like. The staff was good, but as far as the hours, I don't know if they've been changing the hours or what, but one person tells me that the hours are 8 and 8, the other one tells me it's 9 and 9, so I end up leaving at 8 p.m. instead of 9 o'clock because they're not on the same page. My mom doesn't eat everything. I tried it a little, and it's pretty decent. The main activity I've seen is bingo. Besides that, I haven't seen them play anything else.

Superior Residences of Brandon was nice. I rated it a five because of the unique setup and the cleanliness of the facility. I think the interaction of the staff was topnotch. It was a clean and modern facility. The weekend staff was very engaging, from the maintenance man to the care coordinator that was present. The common areas were uniquely designed and very updated. The rooms were also very updated, and they had options, like some had bathrooms and others did not.

We visited Superior Residences of Brandon, which was excellent. The place is very clean and very accommodating. I love the layout of it. It was very nice. The staff that took us around was very informative. She answered all the questions, so it was a very positive visit. We visited the common areas, the outside areas, and the game rooms and what's available for them to do. They took us around to different rooms and explained what was available and the pricing. It was a very pleasant experience.

Superior Residences of Brandon was a very unique place. They had the entertainment areas up front before you walked through the locked doors. Once you get through the doors into the residence itself, that would contain the memory care residents, and then it becomes very basic. So I imagine that they took people in individually with an assistant or a caregiver who would stay with them, so they were always accompanied by that. The only problem that I found is that because my mother has COPD and she uses oxygen, they could not accommodate her because they do not have a certificate to deal with oxygen. We toured the whole facility, and the rooms were very basic. They were not nearly as large as the other places, but they were roomier and more private. They had attached a bathroom to each room. It wasn't as spectacular as the other place, but they were definitely adequate, and they were certainly not the worst. It was a very good place, but after going through so many places, it was pretty typical, acceptable memory care. The person who conducted that tour was fabulous.

I visited the Superior Residences of Brandon today for the first time. I can not say enough about the amazing staff they have there. They were very kind, compassionate, & sincere! I am sure what most people want for their elderly family is to know they are in good hands when they have to put them in a senior facility. I can tell you by my brief experience today that I truly saw the staff genuinely care about their residents! One person stood out above the rest & that was the manager, Latrina. She went above & beyond to show her compassion & kindness in a situation that she did not have to be involved in. She chose to make herself available because she genuinely is kind hearted & very compassionate! I would encourage anyone needing to find a place they trust that will care for their family member to go talk to Ms. Latrina & you will see what I saw in her!

Superior Residences of Brandon had a smell when I walked in. It's strictly memory care, it's not assisted living. When I went to their office for my appointment, it was in the afternoon, there was a big dead roach on the floor. But I liked the staff, they were everywhere. Aides were everywhere. The staff who gave me the tour was a real gentleman. I liked him. He was awesome. They had a nice activity room. I liked everything about it except the smell and the roach. They had a lot of shared rooms, which I didn't like for my mom.

Superior Residences of Brandon is new and immaculate. The residents were dressed very cleanly. All of them were smiling and looked happy. Also, there were no odors of any kind anywhere. It's just a beautiful place to live. The furnishings in the bedroom, as well as in the common areas are very nice. I liked that they have something different for entertainment in the afternoon, and that it's not always bingo. They have music, dancing, cards, and trivia. The staff was very, very professional. They answered the questions I had and did not sidestep them. I feel very comfortable with them.

We liked Superior Residences of Brandon very much. We are going to use them for respite in the coming weeks, and we will be considering them for long-term care as a possibility. The staff was very engaged with the residents. It was clean and residents were able to socialize. The rooms were also very clean, and the size was more than adequate. The people can access outdoor areas where they can walk around. It was nice and clean with benches and things. It looked very comfortable.

I toured Superior Residences of Brandon. The facility was OK. We liked the little downtown area when you first walked in. It was very inviting. We got a nice tour of the facility, and this is the facility we chose to move my friend into, but we got a decline from the doctor. The person who took me around was extremely helpful.
