I would describe my experience with this provider to be indirect, as my grandmother was the actual resident of the facility. For the most part, the grounds were kept clean and free of trash and debris. To enter the parking lot, a code had to be entered at the security gate. I found both the gate and secure building to be comforting. Inside the facility appeared clean, yet comfortable. Due to the facility housing predominantly elderly and disabled residents, I noticed a big emphasis on communication between residents and staff. Protocols such as, signs to hang on the doors, that read "I'm okay" and emergency buttons in the apartments/rooms, provided a solution to recognize and handle potential emergencies.Eventually, my grandmother moved, due to an imposing management team. Residents were not allowed to have grills, for out-door cooking, or certain types of cable- i.e. Dish Network, Comcast, etc.In my opinion, I would consider Aspen Place to be a facility which promoted their resident to be active. Bulletin boards advertising endless community events and holidays were on virtually every wall.
