A loved one

My husband was at The Springs at Pacific Regent rehab section. It was an excellent facility. We had a peculiar situation where someone came in to be my husband's roommate and his wife came with him and would not leave his side. She slept on the floor next to his bed and they each had five and six brothers and sisters and they all came to visit daily. It was very difficult to rest because of the crowd in the room all the time. One of the nurses said we could request to change the room, so we switched to another room and that roommate was quiet and very agreeable. The room was an adequate size, so you chould put a wheelchair or whatever other kind of equipment the person needed in there. The nursing staff was very attentive and the therapy was excellent. They would get him up and do things with him that I didn't think he could do. The food was good and they were very receptive to our suggestions. They had a diverse menu, but if you wanted to opt for something else, they always had options available. You just let them know the week ahead what you want during the week.

I was in rehab for four months at The Springs at Pacific Regent La Jolla. I came there right after surgery. Generally speaking, I was in bed most of the time. There was a doctor who was a director there, and he was very good. I developed an infection while I was there, and he was able to put me in remission for that. On that basis, it was very good. Some caregivers were very qualified, and some were not.
