I toured Pacifica Senior Living Rancho Penasquitos Memory Care. It was very nice. It was clean and bright. What I like about it is that it's small. Right now, memory care only has 17 people in it. I think they have five caregivers in that ratio, and that's very good. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I didn't sample the food, but the dining area looked just fine. They seem to have a good deal of activities. They have people coming in to perform once a week, and that's pretty good.

I toured Pacifica Senior Living Rancho Penasquitos. The apartments are very nice. They're nicely done. They had a refrigerator and a microwave. I think they even had a coffee pot. They had everything in there unless you want to bring in something extra. The person who gave the tour was really good, knew what he was doing, and very helpful. And they contact you right away, so that's really nice.

When I toured Pacifica Senior Living Rancho Peñasquitos, it was a day when they were very busy with a luau. So, most of the residents were at the luau, and so were the staff. When we went around to see the section for memory care, I had a wonderful man with me, the new director, and he was outstanding. I think he will be excellent, but the memory care facility was dark and dirty. When we got back to his office, he asked me "What do you think?" I just started crying. I could hardly talk because I said, "It's just so sad to see how memory care people get the worst of what the facility has to offer." The room I saw was probably two-thirds the size of what my husband has now, both the room and the bathroom. It was adequate, but the hallways were the terrible part. Just terrible. They are very, very small. They're half the size of the hallways at the other one we saw. It just felt like an institution, but they are upgrading their facility. Right now, they are in the process of renovating the entire facility, and that is much needed. The director has a heart for memory care and to upgrade it, that's what I wanted to hear. I was very pleased to know what he was looking to do. If my husband is still alive after they finish, I will go back and check it again because it's very close to my home and I would be able to bring my husband home during the day for a few hours. That would be just so nice for him and me.

We went to look at Heritage Woods of Huntley. We liked the location. It was close to our house. They were very friendly and helpful. They took us on a nice, long tour and spent some time explaining all of the financial aspects of it and all of the amenities they have to provide. We were very impressed with it. The dining room was good-sized. They had lots of windows. The apartments looked nice and sufficient. We saw in one of the rooms that one of the residents was getting a manicure. The room looked like they did lots of activities in there. We saw a calendar of events that looked nice, so it looked like they do offer a lot.

Pacifica Senior Living Rancho Peñasquitos was very clean. It was a hotel before, so they were still remodeling it, and it looked like they were doing a great job. They gave me a fairly quick tour and explained kind of their philosophy, which I liked because they said that they don't restrict their residents from any habits that they had before, which I think was very nice. One weird thing was that they were giving them popcorn for snacks, which I thought was funny because old people can't eat popcorn. But the staff was very pleasant and accommodating.

We had an in-person tour of Pacifica Senior Living Rancho Peñasquitos. The physical appearance was magnificent. Everything was just beautiful. It was very comfortable and inviting. They had a lot of social activities for people with Alzheimer's. We really, really enjoyed this place. I fell in love with the staff. She was sweet and adorable. The kitchen was clean. They had choices of what to eat. They have an entire floor for the Alzheimer's patients, which is what we really like for my mother-in-law. The dining area was set up just like a restaurant, so it was really nice. This place was clean. It didn't smell. Nobody was in their beds. It was great to see everybody up and around. They're fully staffed.

Pacifica Senior Living Rancho Peñasquitos was a hotel converted, so it felt that everything was an afterthought. It was nice though and I was extremely impressed. They have individual rooms and they don't have to share a bathroom. The person I talked to was very informative.

My husband will be moving into Pacifica Senior Living Rancho Peñasquitos. We toured it, and we liked the facility. The staff that showed us around was very informative and took the time to explain everything to us. The rooms were very nice and big. We didn't taste the food, but everybody seemed to like it. We spoke to several people, and they seemed to enjoy it. The dining area was clean. They have all kinds of activities. We talked to a woman that has been living there, and she likes it. She says they are very kind to her, and they are allowed to have animals. She's very pleased with the living conditions.

I thought they were very professional here. I thought the place was clean, and it was very nice. The apartments looked pretty adequate. We only met with the representative, so we really didn’t interact with the staff. But she was fine, knowledgeable, and friendly, and she answered all our questions. It was very convenient.

It looks clean. The patients appeared to be very happy and had good things to say about it. People we talk to are knowledgeable. They had a model we could look at. Then they had the exact room that my dad would move into if he was determined to go that direction. It was very nice.

The staff was very professional, accommodating, and welcoming. The rooms were too small though with small closets. I can recommend this place to others.
