My Dad lived here for a year. He received excellent care from the caregivers, medication managers, everyone. Maria, the owner, was easy to get in touch with via call or text and very responsive. He had been in other ‘high end’ memory care facilities but didn’t receive nearly the attention and flat out was not kept safe from other memory care residents. He was always clean, well fed and looked after. The care givers were always happy, laughing and talking to him and each other. His room was literally steps away from the main living area where there were always at least 3 caregivers present. The resident to caregiver ratio was the best I’ve seen. My Dad was safe and happy here and I am grateful for that. *There were not extensive activities due to COVID.

Splendor Oaks Senior Living at Park Lake is located in the Folsom neighborhood. The newly constructed home was built with assisted living in mind. Each room has its own bathroom. It's also equipped with its own Heating AC split system for the resident's room temperature. The community is not too small yet not too big. The just right-sized community of 15 beds provides a homey environment full of personal care and interactions. The 24hr specialized care and supervision tailored to residents' needs afford them the dignity and compassion they deserve. We also provide personal assistance with the activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and grooming. We accept male and female residents, ambulatory and non-ambulatory, continent and incontinent, Alzheimers, Dementia, oxygen, catheters, respite care, colostomy and diabetics. Our staff is qualified, trained, and experienced in caring for the elderly and certified in First Aid. Maria, the program coordinator is extremely unprofessional. She does not follow through with appointments. Avoid this facility. At first they say that respite care is $200, and then they change prices. When we visited the facility, all the employees were on the phone joking around on the table, by the kitchen, while two elderly resident where left un-cared for. Please avoid this facility, if you want good quality care. There are many caregiving agencies that will gladly provide 24 hour care for $150.00. Do your research.
Provider Response
Client wanted a respite care for a week. We told her that we only do respite for 30 days. Due to Mom's level of care, specific meal plan, and only one week of care, the price would have to be $200 per day.
In addition, all the documentation was not provided. We did not have a complete 602 Physician's Report nor the Medication List. We could not take Mom in without the proper reports. We turned the Client down multiple times but that came across as not following thru and not acting professional! Not so sure why the Client kept begging us to take her mom knowing that there are other facilities that "will gladly provide 24 hour care for $150.00."
As for employees on the phone / joking around on the table, all staff comm is via Smartphone. Staff were interacting with residents at the dining table. There was a board game being played. Two elderly residents were left "uncared" for because they were sleeping on the couch at the moment.
