My mom moved into Heyday Senior Living. They seem to be very caring. It seems like it's a very comfortable, very caring staff, the directors, very responsive. There were few issues at first, but they were able to take care of them. The food is pretty good. It's a private home. They have puzzles, they're going to bring in someone to do the ladies' hair and nails before Christmas. They do have a big table out on the patio that they all gather around in the warm afternoons. There's a TV, a living room with reclining chairs. The inside is maintained nicely. They have showers versus a bathtub, those are a good thing. She doesn't have to step up over a tub. That's a good thing.

My husband will be moving into Heyday Senior Living. When I went there, it was like walking into a home. The facility was clean. There was no odor. I saw a regular bedroom. The bathroom is just across the hall, which makes it convenient. The living room has a big TV and lounge chairs all around. There were three residents in the living room, and they all were dressed and looked well. It looked like they had been taken care of. The staff was a lovely man. He answered all my questions. My question was how much would my husband's daily schedule have to change to accommodate the house, and he pretty much told me that they would let him keep his own schedule as far as getting up in the morning and going to bed. It has a very nice backyard with a big covered patio, a big table, and comfy chairs.

Heyday Senior Living - Costa Mesa was a nice location. It was a nice home. The caregiver seemed very professional, very nice. She seemed very caring about her charges, but it was not the place for my mom. She would not have done well there. The staff was attentive and she knew her patients. They had a nice backyard area for the seniors. It was a private home type situation which was nice, but it doesn't offer a lot of things that other assisted living facilities normally have with a lot of patients. It's a home, they took care of it very well, and all of the patients seem to be pleased to be there.
