My husband has moved into Huntington Terrace. We didn't tour any other place because we were looking for just temporary one-month assisted living and none of the other places were available for that except for Huntington Terrace. It's great. We like it. We chose it because it was available and close to where we live. The staff is very caring and very professional and they have enough staff to meet the needs of the residents. He loves the food. He doesn't participate in any activities, but they have them. It's short-term living, so his room is furnished and it met our needs. It's right across the street from a pretty big shopping center that has restaurants and amenities and it's fairly close to a hospital, which is just within a mile or two. It's very clean.

Huntington Terrace was a nice facility. We were greeted with a reserved spot with my name on it. When we walked into the facility, I got another sign saying "Welcome to us." They took us back to the model where we waited. They had refreshments and coffee waiting for us. Then we met with the sales consultant and she kind of walked us through and wanted to know what we were looking for. We didn't taste the food, but we were told that the chef came from a five-star restaurant and that the food was good. My dad was familiar with this place because he has friends that are there and has eaten the food and he also says that it's very good. The cleanliness was good. It's an older structure, so some work needs to be done and the woman told us that they were working on that. The atmosphere was also good. It was lively. A number of the residents welcomed us, even though they didn't have to. It was a very friendly environment.

Huntington Terrace was very clean. I saw one room, which I didn't like because it had two beds, but there was no partition in between, so there was no privacy. The dining area was very clean. I met several staff, and they were very friendly and very professional.

I went to look at Huntington Terrace. I like it a lot. They were incredible. Everybody there, like the nurse and head person, was fantastic. If my mom needed the service, that's probably the place I would go. I was very impressed. They have a restaurant, a barbecue place outside, and a pool area. It was just very clean. Everybody was so friendly and helpful.

Huntington Terrace was a beautiful, beautiful place. It's got two and a half acres of land with grass on it, pools, and covered benches where you sit out there. It's got a gorgeous dining room. They have movie days and people come to play music and sing. It's clean. The rooms were very, very pretty and everybody was talking to you. The whole staff talked to the residents all the time. It's an amazing place. They make two special meals a day and they bring it to your table. They would say if you want this or that or if you want to order off the menu. They feed them from 7 to 7 anytime you want to eat.

I went to look at Huntington Terrace. I like how they are located right by the beach. I like how one of the activities that they have is that they can go to the beach and get ice cream because my mother likes the beach and the ocean. So the location is preferable. The facility is very clean. The staff was very friendly. The rooms are nice and bright. I was able to sit in on the activities, and I enjoyed watching the residents go through their routines naturally. It was the original coordinator that was supposed to tour me, but they were at a convention. So the person who showed me around didn't know some of the answers to my questions. They gave me a blueberry muffin when I left, and it was very good.

I went to tour Huntington Terrace, and I loved it there. First, the salesperson was very polite and very knowledgeable about everything. He helped me out a lot. He had a lot of good information. They had a beautiful outside yard with putting greens, all kinds of really neat stuff, and a pool. It was just really nice. It was beautiful. In the dining area, you can order breakfast any time of the day or whatever you want. It was just really, really nice. The rooms were good. They were a little small, but they will fit my dad just fine. They have different rooms for different prices. They had a billiard room. There was a clubhouse that you can use at no charge, like if your family wants to have a party. I thought that was cool. They also had a hair salon and a gym.

I toured Huntington Terrace, and it was average and nothing outstanding. The grounds and layout were acceptable, not outstanding but it was ok. The room was a little bit above average from what I've seen, it's not that spacious but it was a normal size. The staff who gave the tour was very knowledgeable, and the people there were very knowledgeable, friendly, and very, very open. I saw some mild exercises going on and they were also showing a movie.

Huntington Terrace was very nice and very clean. It was a great community. Unfortunately, they wouldn't accept my mom. The rooms were very nice. The staff during the tour was great and very helpful. It was very safe. It's in a good area.

We liked the level of care that Huntington Terrace would be able to provide. That we would be able to update mom's care and services. We liked that they had onsite physical therapy, a spa tub, and things like that. They dispense meds, they have a podiatrist that comes monthly and transportation to the doctor's visit. They had a hair and nail salon too. She would be wearing a pendant which will be monitored for the residents. I also liked the room options. They looked nice. Pets were OK and you can have a companion to visit. The lady gave us a good tour and she was knowledgeable.

My husband and I are moving into Huntington Terrace. What I like about this community is that it's softer. That means that people were around in the lobby, and walking around, and doing activities. There was a grassy area, a patio area, a big barbecue, and umbrellas. Everything looked nice and soft and wasn't sterile. I don't care if the the lobby has a beautiful chandelier in it, that doesn't impress me at all. I wanted to know that we had activities, and everything was nice and relaxing. They have a small gym with a bicycle in there. It has a stationary bicycle, and they have an exercise bar. My husband has Parkinson's and I'm moving in with him, and he will be able to use the exercise bar and the bicycle to keep moving. It's an old community because my friends' mothers were there. The staff that I met were very friendly and good. I would imagine that all the staff is good. I didn't get a chance to meet many, but when I was looking at different rooms, the staff members, whenever they would see a resident, they would call them by name and say, how are you doing today? They just knew everybody, and they were very friendly. When my husband goes in, he'll get a medallion, like a call button, and they will check on him regularly all the time because his needs are of a high level. We are going into assisted living. I am totally independent, but my husband will have level four care. So, it's a combination. The apartment that I'm moving into has a big living room, but the bedroom is small because I'm going to need two twin beds in there. This place is older, but it's clean, it's got nice, big wide halls, and the residents are friendly. They were sitting in the lobby, chit chatting, and talking, and all the staff knew them by name as they would walk by. So that's why I say it's nice and comfortable.

My ex-husband has been living at Huntington Terrace for a few weeks now. I thought it looked pretty nice, so we went to go look at it. They were very nice there, so that's why we chose it. The staff seemed very nice. They had an open house, and I was impressed with their open house. Everything was set up so well, and they're very well-organized. So far, I'm very pleased and our children are very pleased. Some days he likes the food and some days he doesn't. He doesn't feel like he gets as good a service as he should because they have a lot of new help. They just did a lot of remodeling, and they've done a good job. I like the way they have repainted it, and there's new furniture. It's very pleasant. The cleanliness seems to be very good. They seem to do activities. Now it looks like they're going to be starting to do a little bit more on the 15th. They have a game room. Yesterday when I was there I heard they had somebody leading a lot of the residents and singing. I was very impressed with how well they sang.

I saw Huntington Terrace yesterday. My overall visit was really good. The place seemed to be nice, and the lady was really nice, too. My only concern is that the room that we're interested in, which is a one-bedroom, is a little bit small -- it's like 375 square feet. The next-more-expensive room after that is really expensive, so I can't do that one. The facility was a little pricey, but it was good.

I walked out of Huntington Terrace crying. Stay away from this place. I would not be able to leave my husband there. I would be crying if I had to do that. The rooms there looked like a cheap Motel 6 with a dirty floor. I just talked to the lady who toured me around, and she was very friendly and appropriate. I couldn't see anything. There were just ten to 12 women sitting in wheelchairs and staring into nothing. I looked at this place because I think it's the most expensive one if I'm not mistaken, and they had a swimming pool. My husband loves to swim, so I toured it first, and I was absolutely appalled.

My mom has been in Huntington Terrace since November. The experience is pretty bad. My mom hates it there. The help is pretty horrible as far as assistance. They have an air-conditioning and heating unit that is like an old model back in the 1970s. They'll turn the heater down but they don't switch it to air-conditioning because they don't seem to understand how the thing works and vice versa. One time I asked if my mom could be ready for a doctor's appointment. Well, they had her dressed and ready in the lobby, but they brought her down without turning her oxygen bottle on. It was completely shut off. She walked with her walker all the way down, and she was one of farther residents from the lobby. They didn't have her oxygen on. My mom was getting scared because they couldn't figure out how to fill her oxygen bottles and turn it on. Along with that, she is adjusting to the new environment and to the people in the dining room. They don't assign seating to a new resident right away, which makes sense, but my mom felt pushed off so she started having them just bring food in her room. She is deteriorating, which is why I got her a care person outside to come in and spend the day with her. My mom has a studio. It is OK but it would be nicer if it was a bigger room. They have crafts, mind games, movies, crocheting, and bingo. She likes all those. They have a good variety of activities; they're excellent on that part. The upper management is really nice, but I don't think they have it together as far as training. Like when she first came in there, I was complaining about that they don't even know how to operate the oxygen machine and they told me this: 'Okay, I'm going to have in services where I will train all the staff' and I was like that should have happened way before. My mom hates the food there; it was super bland.

The staff at Huntington Terrace is very nice and they're very good. It's very nice, specially the grounds. It just seems like the people who live there needed more help than the other place I visited. I only saw 1 room and it wasn't a model room, it was one of the resident's rooms. It was more like a dormitory, because it's just a one room that's like a bedroom with a bathroom. They had a swimming pool, a bocce court, their grounds were very nice and there are little cabanas that seem nice. The outdoor part of the community is nice and they have events outside. For activities, they have a screening room, a PT area that looked nice, a gym, and they have a hair salon. I only really talked to the sales person but she seemed very nice.

My father spent 4 years at Huntington Terrace in Huntington Beach. I was referred by a friend who mother was and is still living there. It was truly a blessing to find a place where the staff is kind and caring to their residents. The facility is very clean and updated. The staff knew Dads name immediately and made him feel welcome and comfortable everyday. My father enjoyed the Dining Room and the staff everyday. There is always an activity to get involved with if you choose. I have recommended H.T. to many friends and will continue to!

Huntington Terrace is very nice too. They have instructors who go over there as part of a program and across the street is a nursing home. It's not quite as elegant as the other places I have been to because it's an older community and they don't have as big rooms to perform in. They're still very nice and elegant, but also expensive. I have several students who live there, and they tell me that the food is very good. The rooms are very nice, just smaller than the others. They have lots of activities as well. They also have buses to take them to the doctor or on outings. The staff members that worked with us were very polite and helpful, and the ones from the dining room were very thoughtful, very nice people. In terms of facilities, they have everything like the others. The rooms that I saw also looked nice. I talked to the people who lived there when we visited and they all said it's wonderful.

My mother has lived at Huntington Terrace for a few years. It has been truly exceptional, up until about 4 months ago. They have new management and things have really declined. Some of the long term managers that really brought a lot of joy to the community have recently left and I believe it is due to the leadership. I don't really want to move my mother after 3+ years but I don't see things improving.

My relative has lived at Huntington Terrace for over a year where the safety of the residents has gone down hill. The majority of the staff are wonderful, caring and knowledgeable. However, the direction from the top has gotten worse in the past few months. If your loved one has special safety needs due to age related psychological problems, I suggest you avoid this place. He/she will NOT get the care and guidance they deserve.

We really liked Huntington Terrace, we really liked their outdoors; it's really nice and relaxing looking. We felt they're very flexible, and they had a lot of information for us. Their rooms were a little bit small, but they had casitas which was nice for some people. However, the location was far from all of us.

The tour at Huntington Terrace was very congenial. It had very nice outdoor spaces and new management. They answered my questions and took me around. Huntington Terrace was the one that we chose out of the ones that we looked at. It was very welcoming and clean. The staff was really friendly. It was the best one that we saw. They had a nice courtyard for the residents to walk around. They had a beauty salon. What I liked about it was the outdoor area. Plus, they had a pool where they did aqua therapy. My mom was on a wait list there.

We have found Huntington Terrace. It’s for my mother-in-law. They are very friendly, very helpful, and compassionate. They have been absolutely wonderful. When you walk in the door, you feel like you’re in a home. I did eat there with my mother-in-law. She has been in there since Wednesday and raves about the food. It’s absolutely wonderful. I think the dining area is very nice and very cozy. It’s not too pretentious. I definitely recommend this place.

Huntington Terrace was very nice, and the people were very friendly. They had cottages, and they had very good food. They had three chefs. There was a large meeting facility on the grounds, but it was away from where the residents lived. There were different social functions related to health care. It was a little more convenient for someone independent.

Huntington Terrace was the best place for my mom. She has lived there for about five or six months. The place is absolutely gorgeous. They make sure everybody knows everybody's names, and they make sure they know the visitors' names. I have been very impressed by this. Every two hours, they have activities for the residents. The cleanliness and attentiveness have impressed me the most. They have a private chef, and I'd rate the food a 10.

My visit at Huntington Terrace was well presented. The staff was very helpful. The dining room looked good. The only problem I saw was that there were so many people at different levels of needs, so some needed activities like music and dancing or something lively because not everyone likes bingo or chess or those kinds of activities. They wanted to be active and were not ready for the slower-moving activities.

Huntington Terrace was a wonderful and nice place. I loved the grounds because they had grass and a pool. Mom wants to live there because her good friend lives there, it’s the closest place to us, and the price is reasonable. She is on a waiting list to have her own apartment. The dining area has tablecloths and looks like a restaurant instead of a cafeteria. Plus, they have their own chef. I liked the activities that they offer and the social networking available. All of the people I met were very nice. The place is always full because it’s popular and hard to get into, but it’s worth the wait.

Huntington Terrace was well-maintained, and kept. It had a homey feel to it. The grounds were spacious, and it had many benefits for the occupant. The dining was very good because it was 24-hours. You could dine when you wanted to. There were transportation opportunities. Socially, they have a person who directs them, and they have a lot going on. It's an attractive place.

The staff seemed nice enough. It was a little old, the rooms were very tiny, and they had some cottages that were quite a walk away. Huntington Terrace would have been OK for my mom. I didn't look at it so closely -- just that the rooms were very small -- and the cottages were too far away for her to be able to negotiate that. She would need some help to get from the cottage to the dining area each time, so that would be too hard for her because she is either in a wheelchair or walker -- she couldn't walk very well -- so she would have to be very close, and it just wouldn't work out for her.

As a professional in the Long-Term Care industry providing help to Veterans and Surviving Spouses for Aid & Attendance, I have long found Huntington Terrace to be the highest quality of people and services serving their senior residents. I love food and find their food is incredible! They maintain the community to the highest of standards. As a retired Air Force officer, I also am pleased at the esprit, teamwork, and responsiveness of Huntington Terrace employees to be the most considerate, caring, and respectful. The most wonderful testimonies about the Huntington Terrace staff come from their residents, of which several are my clients. Huntington Terrace is a resource for seniors and their adult children offering insight into how to plan and obtain the best care whether using Huntington Terrace or other assisted living or In Home Care. In fact, Huntington Terrace serves as a central meeting point for the entire industry with their hosted events for professionals and industry experts. Thus, Huntington Terrace stays current with the latest in care technologies and methods that make them the best in care to seniors. Congratulations are in order to the staff and leadership of Huntington Terrace for their tradition of excellence and highest level of people-centered care. My mom has Alzheimer's, and she is in the memory care portion called Connections in Huntington Terrace. The staff is amazing, and the environment is clean and modern. The food is great, and they have their own chef there. It's prepared daily, it's very healthy, they have vegetable soups everyday, and it is really good. There's nothing that needs improvement.

I have been living in Huntington Terrace for four years now, and the staff is good and nice, but there are managers that are rude; sometimes she blames people for something, and sometimes she is rude with all people, but pretends to be a nice person. The apartments are beautiful and nice, well-taken care of. We have get-togethers, like Wednesdays for movies and popcorn and Fridays for dinner where everybody participates. They got a gym, a Jacuzzi, a park -- which is very nice -- barbecues. The environment is very nice, and the place is very safe.

Huntington Terrace was very nice. I was most impressed with the staff. It appeared to me that they took genuine interest in the well being of the residents. Huntington Terrace is very nice. It?s a newer facility, and the rooms were very nice as well, but the overall environment is like a hotel or apartment complex environment. The staff was very knowledgeable, and they did a great job explaining everything to my parents. The residents were very nice as well. The place itself is very homey and welcoming. The facilities were very nice, and I have no complaints of the facilities themselves. The woman that we met was awesome; she did a great job. I found her quite unique, and she picked up right away that my parents were not yet on board.

Huntington Terrace had everything I wanted. It had a community. The people were very friendly. It smelled clean. It had nice open areas for activities and a big dining room with a chef. The studio's size was adequate, and it had a small patio facing a green space. However, it was too expensive. It was almost $3,000 a month, and it was out of my range, but I had a very good feel for it when I went to visit. The room had a small access bathroom, nice closet, a small kitchenette, and a quarter-size refrigerator. I was told that you that you wouldn't stay in your room for long because people would come knocking on your door to take you places. They had transportation to the local pharmacy and to local doctors. They had cable TV, and they pay for everything. The only things they were not paying for were your personal items such as your medications and any other personal items you might need. I saw the dining room. It was very nice with round tables. I read their menu, and it looked very tempting. The food was included in the rent. They had a swimming pool with an exercise program, a mini golf course, and they had a nice little green area where you could take a walk. It was situated on a hillside, but all of their levels inside were flat of course. However, it had limited parking for guests, and that was the only difficult part if you were a guest coming in with your own car.

My parents and I were treated to a lunch and tour at Huntington Terrace. The food was outstanding, with a whole menu of choices available for each meal. The facility was clean, and the staff was friendly. The residents we saw looked happy. Small dogs and cats were allowed. Unfortunately, my dad has Alzheimer's and they do not have a wing designated for Alzheimer's at this time. I understand that they might have one available at the beginning of 2012.
