"Wilkinson Woods was a very nice place and it was close to my house. The staff was nice. I would recommend them to others. "

"The assisted living was sort of new, well-kept, and pretty clean. There are low incidences of COVID, the staff seemed warm and helpful, and the residents seemed friendly and nice. It seemed like a nice facility. The apartments we saw were decent. They have 1-bedrooms and the efficiency apartments. They were unfurnished so you have to provide your own furnishings. The efficiency ones didn't have their own shower in some of them, so you had to go down the hall to the shower, but that was okay. They had a library, a TV room, and a piano room. They also have a cafeteria type of facility."

"It was a nice facility. They have everything that we need. The only thing is their rooms are just bigger versions of a hospital room. It's just one area and it was small. It wasn't what we were looking for. If my aunt is going to live her life out there, I would prefer she would have a separate bedroom area and sitting area. For some people, that's not necessary though, so it was still a nice facility and they have a lot to offer. A lot of the residents were sitting out front when we got there. It's got a nice patio on the front. The lady showed us everything that they had and she talked about the facility."

"My mother-in-law is at Bay Harbor Memory Care & Assisted Living. I know she gets good care there, but to me for being there, it could be a little bit cleaner. It's not a place where I would have my mother, but my mother-in-law is there. I'm not the one that put her there; my sister-in-law and husband did. It was one they could find at the time that would take her. My mother-in-law got one of the bigger rooms. It's not too bad. For her, it's okay. I have no idea if they have activities or not because all I see is the staff that's there. The dining area is not as nice. It's an older place, too. In terms of value for money, my mother-in-law pays more than my mother does, so I would say it's kind of overrated. To me, it's pretty high there."

"I like the layout here. I was impressed with the staff. I was impressed with the activities, the meals, and the overall care that they provide. They have everything from bingo, to movie and popcorn night, to crafts, brain games, and they have coffee klatches. The rooms are very nice sized. You have to furnish them yourself, of course, but otherwise, I've found them very, very accessible to anyone. I liked the rooms. We didn't do a part of the whole guest meal thing, but we have seen the sample menus, and it looks varied, very well-balanced, and very nutritious. It looks like the meals are very good."

"The Sylvan Crossings at Hunter Ridge assisted living facility in gorgeous Beaver Dam, Wisconsin was one of the places we saw while looking in the region for our uncle. The lovely exterior looked like other resorts in the area, with beautifully landscaped grounds and tree-lined walkways.The staff was kind and caring to all of the residents that we saw -- of varying capabilities. The communal rooms included a lovely library and the ability for seniors to participate in a number of stimulating activities. The exercise center includes daily yoga and aerobics classes. The equipment is available throughout the day and they receive assistance whenever necessary. The residents may also safely navigate the lovely grounds for exercise. The food we saw looked and smelled delicious. The menus all had healthy food options for all kinds of diets. Healthy snacks are offered all day and into the evening, as well as whenever residents request them. The dining room was quite nice, with plenty of space. The living spaces were generous, with plenty of space to house seniors' cherished possessions.The many planned activities feature everything from exercise classes to book readings and arts and crafts. The residents are taken to many interesting cultural events in the region. Weather permitting, they go on nature walks to enjoy all that Beaver Dam has to offer. It was clear that all of the residents' needs are met here. The decor of the entire facility was really fresh and bright. The staff was also exceptionally attentive -- and we could see how any senior would really enjoy living in this environment they consider their home. "

"We choose Sylvan Crossing at Westshire for my brother because it is a small community and a fairly new facility, but we have not move him in yet. The inside is gorgeous. They have 32 private rooms and they are absolutely beautiful, spotless and very generous space wise. The dining room, the gathering area, the rooms that are open and available and all of the different rooms, I am amazed on how big they are. They are also in very nice size, well light and they are all in outset and facing windows. We didn't eat there, but I did see on the board what they are having each meal and it looks nice and well balanced meal. They tell me that they fix everything from scratch.The only thing that I notice is that they have a kind of a porch on the outside that has spindles and the spindles can be re-painted, but other than, they have a lovely parking lot and it is close to the water. The one who assisted us is the assisted manager and her name is Carmen. She is very helpful. She isn't expecting us, so we come in there as a surprise, but she shows us the whole facility. They have a list of activities posted, very morning after breakfast they have exercises and after that, people have a choice of what they can do or if they don't want to do any of them, they can go visit in the lounge area, go to their rooms or go outside for a walk around the facility. They have a walking path around the entire facility. It is very pleasant, homey and very nice. The location is wonderful. It is like in a cove and there is a lake there. The staff is very happy. They are doing their job and they are smiling. I will recommend them. "

"The facility seemed adequate. I was not overly impressed with the common or private areas for those living there, but it seemed to provide them with everything necessary. The staff was friendly and it was clean, but facilities like this can't get around the typical old person smell. Not necessarily a negative, and not really tangible, but there nonetheless. "

"Sylvan Crossings of Chapel Valley was the first place that had an opening for my friend. I have not been in it because of COVID, but it looked really clean. They've had trouble keeping people and a cook came down with COVID, but they were friendly and they treated him pretty good. It's nice outside and it's only 1-story, so it's comfortable and it has a lot of windows. The staff that I've talked to was very helpful and nice. The cook has been there for many years and he's really good, and he'll be coming back in a couple more days, so a couple of the women chip in and cook for 20 people. Sometimes, he likes the food and sometimes he doesn't. This place is comfortable, well-kept and has good parking."

"I toured Oak Park Place Nakoma. Sue, the director, was the most kind, caring, and generous with the time of any of the people. She was the most proactive in terms of follow-up and not pressuring you at all but just really being in it for the people. It's apparent that she cares about all the people involved and that they truly care about the residents and their families. It was a very good comprehensive tour. In terms of the condition of the place, I would say it was really nice and well-maintained. It's like a newer facility and it's nice looking. They have some nice communal areas. Currently, the average age of their residents is older than my father-in-law who has early-onset dementia. A lot of the patients there were in a little further and later stages of dementia, so that was a negative for us. Part of why we're looking at centers is so that my father-in-law can have socialization, but if you have a lot of bedridden or wheelchair-bound patients that aren't as social with the activities, that makes it harder. Their memory care unit isn't on the first floor, it's on the second floor, so their only outdoor space is a concrete balcony versus other places we toured that had memory care that had an outdoor patio with some green space. Since nature is a huge love of my father-in-law, that's a big thing for us. "

"My mother came to Oak Park Place for so I could go to my grandson's graduation. She had single, very spacious room. The staff did try to get her to interact, but she is stubborn. I know I would bring her back when the need will arise again. Thank You Oak Park Place."
