"Danbury has been a wonderful caring home for my mother. The staff is knowledge and friendly, not just the nursing and the support staff but dining room, cleaning and maintenance people are all warm-hearted. The food is healthy and delicious and a variety of items are available each day. My mother’s studio apartment as well as the rest of the community is always well maintained. It is a bright and cheerful “home”. Danbury has taken the worry off of my shoulders. I know my mom is getting her medication everyday and on time. If she needs help it is there and given by loving gentle people. In short, Danbury has made my mother’s life easier with less anxiety and therefore more enjoyment for her. My visited with her are now filled with calm loving quality time."

"I thought Brookdale Piqua was very great, and it was my favorite place of those I toured, I tried to get my mother there. I loved the director and the staff there, the activities director, and the person who was in charge of maintenance and things. They were just super, they knew what they were talking about and they were very energetic. They didn't talk to you like it was just "Yadda, yadda" like just another person. They're very, very nice. I think his name is Chris, he was the director, he called me several times because he knew I was very much trying to get my mother to switch there. And he stayed in touch with me and tried to help me, which he didn't have to do. What appealed to me was when I came in at lunchtime, and they had something that I didn't see very often, which was tablecloths on the tables. It was more like a dining room instead of a cafeteria. And the residents had made centerpieces on tables, like for whatever season. It was very nicely done. The facilities were super, they even had a spa room with one of the walk-in tubs. They had a spa room where you could sign up, and at a particular time go into one of the walk-in tubs and have a spa time, and somebody's there to help you. I like the activities director, they had probably more options than I'd seen anywhere else. The difference was that they did more trips out of there, and the courtyard was beautiful. Everything about it was, to me a cut above the rest, but my mother didn't think so. They were a little bit more expensive than what she's paying now, so that played a little part in it."

"Our visit to 10 Wilmington Place was very thorough. The main thing we liked about it is it was very clean and the people were very friendly (both the staff and the residents). We went through to the cafeteria and people were sitting there eating and they were saying how good the food was. It was a very, very nice place. It's also very big and offers quite a lot. You could stay there and never leave the building if you didn't want to. You could have your groceries delivered and everything. So it was a pretty nice setup. There was a theater there, game rooms, different kinds of classes, and just about everything we could want. The staff were very nice and very, very informative. They were very concerned about making sure that we didn't stumble on anything while we were walking around and gave us a chance to rest if they felt that we needed to rest and things like that. So I appreciated that."

"We chose Brookdale Oakwood for my father because the people there are very nice and it's very clean. His room is very clean and large, and I thought he would be safe there. The staff is very welcoming, very helpful, and went out of their way to help me. He's in the locked down Alzheimer's unit. They exercise them, and they took them out for the choir and field trips. I'm very happy with the place. It's in Oakwood, which is a posh neighborhood. It's a beautiful home."

"The Carlyle House is beautiful. It is very nice, but they don't have any rooms. They have a chef, and it looks like he was preparing something really good. The interactions with the residents were a lot better than the other facilities. They all have a list of activities. They all have a schedule, but that doesn't mean they do them, but the schedule looks fine. You are only there for a little while, so you only get a quick glimpse. The facility looks really nice. The ambiance is very nice, and the staff that assisted us was very knowledgeable. His own grandmother is there. I would recommend them. "

"We visited The Wellington at Dayton and toured independent living. The director stood out to me. We were there right around supper time so there were a few residents out and about, and she knew every one of those residents by name and called them by name. She spoke with them and talked with them in their first names. I was with another couple that had come with me and they pointed it out. One of them told her how she called every one of these people by their first names and she said they were family to her, which stood out to me. They have the same amenities as some of the others that I have seen. I liked the way the apartment was set up and I liked the showers. They had a fold-up seat that you could bring and sit down on. I liked the check-in that they had, too. There's a button in the apartments that when the first person wakes up, they can push the button and the staff know that the people are okay. If they don't, then they call them, and if they don't get an answer, they come and check on them. I like that part of it, even though it's independent living. I think they also serve two meals a day."

"My parents moved into Wickshire Fairborn. We chose it because they sent two movers to move my parents' stuff and waived the community fee. They also honored the monthly rate that the other facility had, up until December of 2023. Everybody is friendly and helpful. The facility is clean. They have a lot of family involvement. The staff and the other residents are very nice. My parents' room is smaller than the other facility, but it is clean and up-to-date. I'm not going to say it's spacious, but it's big enough for two people. The dining area is very nice, clean, and has a cheerful atmosphere. The food is good. They do bingo. They have different people come in for music activities. They have cooking classes. Their family night was fun, with different entertainers. A lot of the residents play cards together in the sitting area."

"My mom has been in Brookdale for approximately 4 years. The staff are all willing to help you when needed. My mom loves going on the country drives when weather permits."

"We toured Traditions of Beavercreek and it was very nice. The place that they had was sixteen hundred and some square feet. All the appliances and everything was there. You also receive your Internet, your TV, and your yard maintenance. It was very big. It's a two-bedroom. This particular one we saw was brand new and never lived in. It also had a garage. We only met one staff who showed us through. She was very nice and very informed. I know they had a nurse 24 hours a day. They even had maintenance come if something happened to your place at night. It was quite a bit less expensive than the other one that we saw. They also have something that if you happen to become incapacitated, they had something you could move from that place into a place that had medical attention. You can get any meal for $5 while you're living in the other part."

"I liked the size of Trustwell Living at Oakley Place. It was smaller and all on one level, so it presented a home-like atmosphere. Everybody was very nice and their programs were good. The staff who gave me the tour was not just professional, but she was very kind and very helpful in answering questions. We enjoyed her. We toured the rooms very nicely and thoroughly. We saw the eating areas and different rooms, and everything was very nice and clean. But the bedrooms were older and smaller."

"We went to Brookdale Kettering. I liked the fact that they served two meals a day, that it was neat and clean, and that each apartment had its own patio. They had nice washer facilities, and everything looked nice. Kirsten was very accommodating and very helpful. She has since been even more helpful trying to get us in there. The young lady at the front desk was very pleasant and very accommodating to anybody that came through the door. It was nice."

"My mom has moved into Brookdale Beavercreek. They're great. They've been very good with her, so it's been helpful. I think her room feels very homey to her, which is important. The food is good; she likes it. They have quite a bit of activities and she has been doing a lot, so that has been good also. She does exercise every morning with a group, and I think that's been good. It has taken her a little while to get involved in that, but she is. It's pretty much all positive. So far, they've been really helpful. The staff have been really good. My mom's room has been fine for her, and she has a lot of room outside the room. They actually will do laundry, too. They have transportation, but I have not had to use that yet; I pretty much take her to her appointments. The dining room is good. They have different areas where they do activities and stuff. My mom has been pleased with it, so it has made the transition a lot easier. "
