"I’m happy to leave a recommendation for The Danbury. My father was a resident there for approximately a year. His room was an awesome small one bedroom apartment and it had everything my dad needed. Stove, microwave and refrigerator. My dad loved that he called his home. The staff is awesome, very caring and responsive. And pleasing to interact with. The food was great. It’s like going to a restaurant sitting down. They bring a menu tell you the specials that they have today and the quality of the food was excellent. They made it easy to have lunch or dinner with my dad and I had it set up so when guest came to visit that they could get a meal ticket at the front desk and add it to my bill, so he would have someone there to still have lunch and dinner with so they all enjoyed their time while they visit with him. My dad loved the Danbury and it was easy for him, He would say I’m perfectly happy being here at home. There were couples that lived beside of him and across the hall. All the residents were friendly as well as the greeting staff whenever I would visit, It was always pleasing to go there. “It wasn’t like going into a nursing home” it was like going into a nice facility that you might be greeted by an elderly person in a tracksuit doing their physical activity walk or a resident on their scooter or a walker, but in a nice well-kept lobby and the dining area was right there to see as well. The facility is well kept where they have a barber shop, activity rooms, movie theater, and it’s the kind of place that if I was going to look for myself to move into being elderly. I would definitely go to the Danbury. The overall feel and the smell of the facility was pleasant not like most other type of Facilities that I had visited, so my overall experience was excellent. "I thought Brookdale Piqua was very great, and it was my favorite place of those I toured, I tried to get my mother there. I loved the director and the staff there, the activities director, and the person who was in charge of maintenance and things. They were just super, they knew what they were talking about and they were very energetic. They didn't talk to you like it was just "Yadda, yadda" like just another person. They're very, very nice. I think his name is Chris, he was the director, he called me several times because he knew I was very much trying to get my mother to switch there. And he stayed in touch with me and tried to help me, which he didn't have to do. What appealed to me was when I came in at lunchtime, and they had something that I didn't see very often, which was tablecloths on the tables. It was more like a dining room instead of a cafeteria. And the residents had made centerpieces on tables, like for whatever season. It was very nicely done. The facilities were super, they even had a spa room with one of the walk-in tubs. They had a spa room where you could sign up, and at a particular time go into one of the walk-in tubs and have a spa time, and somebody's there to help you. I like the activities director, they had probably more options than I'd seen anywhere else. The difference was that they did more trips out of there, and the courtyard was beautiful. Everything about it was, to me a cut above the rest, but my mother didn't think so. They were a little bit more expensive than what she's paying now, so that played a little part in it."

"Brookdale Oakwood was very nice. They had almost the same amenities and everything as the other facilities, like common areas and activities for the residents, but what I liked was that they had a pet dog in the facility (my mom loves dogs). They also had a fish tank and a bird cage with some birds in it. The staff was very nice. They showed us a studio."

"The Carlyle House is beautiful. It is very nice, but they don't have any rooms. They have a chef, and it looks like he was preparing something really good. The interactions with the residents were a lot better than the other facilities. They all have a list of activities. They all have a schedule, but that doesn't mean they do them, but the schedule looks fine. You are only there for a little while, so you only get a quick glimpse. The facility looks really nice. The ambiance is very nice, and the staff that assisted us was very knowledgeable. His own grandmother is there. I would recommend them. "

"We visited the assisted living facility of The Wellington at Dayton a couple of years ago. It just seemed like a really nice place to be, and the price was right, and all of the services they provided were just what my parents would need. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. Everything in the facility was clean, and it was nice."

"We toured Fairborn Assisted Living. They were very friendly, and my sister was impressed with them. We went to the memory side, and they did not have any openings at the time, so she was on the waiting list. When we walked out of the building, she said that's where she wanted to be. All of us had a positive experience with them. The person who gave the tour took us over to the assisted living side as well to just kind of show us the first floor, which had the dining room and the living room area. They have an activity room and a patio that's enclosed, so everybody can go outside if they want to. It was a little garden area with a couple of benches underneath a covered overhang where the residents could sit and talk, which was kind of nice. We were out there for a couple of minutes. The memory care unit is a lockdown unit, and the residents are escorted to the assisted living side by a staff member so they can participate in activities whenever they want, and then they are escorted back to the memory care side. The family members are given a code to be able to get into the memory side whenever they want to come and visit, so they have access, but the residents that are there are locked down in case they have wandering issues. We did not go into the assisted living side of the dining room, but the memory care has a breakfast area there. They have 14 residents on the memory side, so it was big enough for 14 of them to have a meal together. From what I was told, the person who does the cooking makes meals according to the residents' tastes."

"I liked the size of Trustwell Living at Oakley Place. It was smaller and all on one level, so it presented a home-like atmosphere. Everybody was very nice and their programs were good. The staff who gave me the tour was not just professional, but she was very kind and very helpful in answering questions. We enjoyed her. We toured the rooms very nicely and thoroughly. We saw the eating areas and different rooms, and everything was very nice and clean. But the bedrooms were older and smaller."

"The people at Brookdale Kettering and everyone we met there were nice, and the price is good. The rooms are really nice because you can eat in them, and they have a porch that's screened-in where you can sit and enjoy. They will also take my puppy, which is nice. The people who live there and the people who work there are nice. The dining area looked clean to me. The gentleman who did the tour and the people we walked with were nice. They explained everything and showed us everything."

"Brookdale Beavercreek has turned out to be the perfect fit for our loved one. Since the day he arrived (and multiple staff came to greet him and make him feel welcome) he has been happy & content. The complex is small, residents are kind and caring and the staff is highly involved. His apt is cleaned twice weekly, laundry completed and they are always cleaning & maintaining the property itself. He is encouraged to participate in activities and does so. Nursing staff is on it—great communication about his care. When touring properties, ask yourself what is the best fit for your loved one—we had a not great experience in a fancier setting, with lots of staff turnover. We highly recommend Brookdale Beavercreek."

"The staff is amazing! They treated my husband like family and accommodated his unique food preferences, responded to his daily needs with compassion. When it was time for him to come home, the communication was quick and arrangements were easy. We enjoy continued friendships with the staff and residents even though he is no longer there. "We visited the assisted living facility of Fairmont of Washington Township, and it's really beautiful. It was just a little out of our price range. The lady who runs it was wonderful. She just had a really great personality and was very kind to my parents. My parents, my mom especially, loved her. She's very helpful, and she still calls every now and then. We were able to sample the food, and it was very good. It was nice that they had options on their menu. The facility was very clean and very nice."

"Landings of Sidney is very nice. It seems to be the most reasonably priced out of the three facilities we are choosing from. The staff is so friendly and helpful too. They all speak to you every time they see you in the hallways. It's nice, neat, and clean. They have breakfast all day, which is nice. They serve three meals a day. They have snacks and refreshments available 24/7. The rooms are very spacious. The building itself and the lawns are very well kept, very well maintained, and very clean inside. They have a kitchenette and a living room area that you can use for your whole family to come in for holidays or birthdays, as well as a nice activity room."
