I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother moved into Brookdale Greenville. We chose it because of their security. I haven't had any complaints yet. It takes a special person to work with these people, and they're very helpful and seem to be very knowledgeable. They do something every day. They played bingo, and one day they were planting succulents. It's very clean.

Mom's room is a nice size for her. It fits a bed, Lazy Boy chair, chest of drawers, and night stand with room to move around. She has a nice bathroom and small kitchenette. We call it her apartment. The staff couldn't be more friendly, helpful, and caring. They take good care of her - that is such a relief for the family. Mom enjoys the many activities. She especially enjoys the therapy dogs that come to visit. Mom enjoys meal time. They always tend to her needs and she loves to socialize with the other residents at that time.

The rooms are very nice, maybe need a little updating. The staff is very caring and helpful. They call all the residents by name and are respectful. They are truly a blessing.

My Mom has a large room. She has her own restroom, shower, etc. She has a sink, cabinets, and a small refrigerator. The staff is helpful. My Mom likes the group exercises. She likes to play the piano once in awhile. They have bingo and other activities most everyday. They have activities for holidays. They have their choice of snacks @ night. My Mom enjoys the staff. She likes the food.

My mom has been in Brookdale for approximately 4 years. The staff are all willing to help you when needed. My mom loves going on the country drives when weather permits.

Brookdale is an excellent choice for quality care. Mom has been there five years and we have been nothing but very satisfied with how they’ve cared for her. Her room is bright and cheery. The staff is always available if we need them. And they are always engaging the residents in some type of activity.

This facility provides an extended family. We are confident of the security so no worries about our father/ father- in law/ grandpa accidentally leaving. It’s like a home with many common areas where the residents gather to watch tv or share a meal. I can’t rave enough about the hands on staff, SO caring! Unfortunately our family member doesn’t participate much but he’s clearly at home and familiar with the other residents and staff. He’s clean and shows no signs of distress or neglect which we are very alert to as he cannot tell us. We have confidence and comfort and never want him to leave!

I visited this facility

Sterling House was an assisted living and memory care. I thought they had a really good setup. They had a library and place for the residents to shoot pool. They had outdoor eating. The rooms were spacious. We saw a sample with the living room, bathroom, and bath, and they were pretty big. They also told me that they were setting up computers so each resident would have their own access. So, they could keep in touch with their family that way, and I thought that was a really good idea. It was their PR person who took us around. She told us that they had a way that it could be financed through Elder Life Financial Service, but they wouldn't do it for us because my dad's health wasn't worth enough money. So they couldn't loan us the money to get started. However, they would work with you, and they would try to hook you up with Elder Life Financial. So it might be more easy for other folks to do it. I thought they were really first class.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My husband's mother was in Sterling House of Greenville for seven years. I thought they did an okay job. There was a big brouhaha for a while when they changed the person that runs it, and I am not sure what that was all about. They got rid of some people that we particularly liked who were good with my mother-in-law, but they weren't at liberty to share any reason why they were let go. The rooms and the location were fine. For all I saw, it was a nice facility. Right before she passed on, she was moved into their new memory care center. I think she had some very good caretakers. They did a good job as they could. I thought it was adequate. The cleanliness was fine. They did what they could to keep it clean.
