"My friend was a resident of Fountain View at Logan Square. They do get you up and around and they don't want the patients to be laying in the bed all the time, and I thought that was very good. The problem is, it's a very good facility, but it's out of a lot of people's reach. I did look at their apartments and it was attached to the rehab center, which I felt was great, but it was pretty expensive. I'm sure there are ways of working it out. I did speak to the person who was in charge of social work there, and she was pretty helpful. It was very nice. They have group sessions, which I felt were very good because she was able to socialize. It was a nice facility. It was just very expensive. I thought this one was one of the nicer ones, mainly because it was also an apartment. They kept it up very nicely. The apartments were very nice, everything seemed to be running very well, and the patient care was very good. Their staff was very good."

"We've toured other places but Summit Place is the one that fits my stepfather the best. We've toured it and spoken to the several nice staff. It's a nice little community. We enjoyed the tour, the people are very friendly, and they don't rush you. The place is clean, quiet, and it's a small community which I like. They seem to be conscientious of the needs of their residents, and overall I like it. They have studios, studio-deluxes, and 1-bedroom apartments. They also have an activities room, a hair salon, a courtyard, a living room that's a general area where they do different activities. They don't have a separate gym or any other fancy amenities, it's a very simple place."

"We chose The Landing of Washington Square for my mother because it's in her neighborhood, and it offered all of the services that she needed. It's a brand-new place. It's not completely staffed yet, but I've dealt with the front desk people and the two managers. There are nurses on duty every day. I dealt with every one of them and they're awesome. All of them are great. My mother has an apartment. She has a full-sized bathroom, a full-sized bedroom, a kitchen-family room sort of combination, and both are nice sized. It's a full kitchen except for a stove. I haven't had the food in a while, but my mother says she loves it. She said it's great. The Landing of Washington Square is very expensive, but all the services are there."

"The staff are wonderful and will go out of their way for the residents. My dad was there for 8 years and they treated him like family. Some even called him "Uncle"! Really a great place."

"We went to Spring Hills Cherry Hill. The food there is probably among the best of the managed care facilities. They have a restaurant setting. It was a former motel, so they maintained that environment. The layout was pretty nice. However, for some odd reason, the handicapped ramp from the outside to the front door is not covered. Inside, they had a really nice interior. It was very large, so I think that's a bit of a challenge for people who are wheelchair bound. I was really sold with their room design. They did a really good job in giving you three rooms, a bathroom, and a huge walk-in closet space. The bathrooms are a little bit smaller than the other ones are, but still roomy enough to give you a shower, a toilet, and a sink. The way the kitchen, living quarters, and bedroom were designed was very clever with the use of the space. I think that was a really good selling point. They also said the doctor actually has an office on-site (as well as the nurses), so that's a positive. The downside is that it is not cheap at all. The memory unit care was a shock to me at how much that was going to cost."

"My mom is a resident at Juniper Village. It is a smaller, more intimate facility situated in a circle. This works perfectly for my mom when she gets confused which direction she is going. She always comes around to the common areas where there are people to help. Her daily needs are adequately met, meds administered properly, meals and snacks are ample, housekeeping and laundry are included. There are many activities throughout the day, a lot of bingo which the residents love, a lot of music, which seeing the residents sing is a beautiful thing to see. I have a peace of mind and know my mom is safe and happy."

"Brookdale Evesham seemed pretty nice. The people were nice. There's gonna be a new room that they're remodeling, new floors and paint and everything. They have bingo, music, different events, a little library, and some type of game room. The lady who took us around was friendly and very nice. It's quiet. They have a garden area where people can sit and relax and that seemed pretty nice."

"We visited Chestnut Ridge. We liked the place and the rapport of the place very much. The staff was very nice, very informative, and very cordial. They had a number of things going on when we were there. They also had a Christmas party going on. The person that showed us the place was very knowledgeable. I asked a lot of questions, and I did get answers. They didn't hide anything. I checked them out, and what they told me was factual. "

"Symphony Square was a nice place. Lani was excellent and knew her stuff. The residents were doing baking and crafts projects while I was there. The dining area was beautiful, but I did not taste the food. The place was beautiful and brand new. They would only allow a maximum of 12 residents for the memory care unit which was a very nice thing."

"Springfield Crossings was OK. It was a way to walk from the parking lot to the building. The rooms to me were kind of small and it was under construction, so I didn't understand that one, but the person that gave the tour was pretty nice. He's a very knowledgeable young guy. Next door to the facility was a nursing home that was available for the residents. If something were to happen to your loved one, they can be taken there, which I thought was pretty good since it was convenient. The dining area was nice and clean as well. Then they have a private room if you have family members that stopped by."

"My brother in law is doing very well in Spring Oak. The place is very good and he likes it. He has got a couple of friends and he is getting acclimated. He's been there since June. "
