"Communication from the staff to the families is terrible. We are never provided updates regarding our loved one who has dementia. We are never informed of policy changes, such as we can no longer enter the building from the main entrance, we must use the side entrance. Or that we must sign in a family member. This type of information should be mailed to the families so they are aware of changes. There are many times that the RN is late in the morning, thus preventing us from allowing our loved one to enter the building since that is their policy. We have has to sit on our car for 20 minutes at times until the RN arrived. Makes it difficult to get to work on time. There is also no outdoor space. "

"This adult day care center is far from professional compared to any other center i have visited. the employees are a rude and don't care about anything that goes on around them. I guess it's the training given from their higher ups, and unfortunately it shows as soon as you walk in. supervisors are disrespectful to employees and argue on front of clients and family memebers. So unorthodox. "

"We have found the very best for our mother! From day one the staff and director were so kind and caring. Everyday our mom is happy to attend GOLDEN AGE ADULT DAY CENTER, she feels welcomed and safe and happy. We are so grateful for these people. They can handle our mom's changing needs in a professional, skilled, structured setting. From the Top down the whole staff is wonderful! Beautiful environment, the furniture and décor and bathrooms and flooring is lovely. We're very proud to tell people that my mom attends Golden Age Adult Day Center. We recommend them to all our friends and family and anyone looking for a good adult day care. We could go on and on, they have exercise for the clients and celebrate all holidays with crafts and parties. The food they serve is nutritious and the cleanliness of the facility and staff is all very desirable. When we leave our mom in their care we have peace. We know that they treat her with dignity and respect and genuine kindness. Ester Weber Philadelphia "

"I was hesitant to send my mom to Wiley. We live about a 1/2 hour away and the building at Wiley is not modern by any means. But, I gave it a try because I heard great things about the care at Wiley. It has been 3 months since mom started and it has turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. The staff is tremendous and they really do care about the folks that attend. Do yourself a favor and consider Wiley when looking for a medical day program for your love one. "

"I got in late to Senior Care, so I didn’t see everything. They changed over to a new person, and he was there only 2 weeks. They were very flexible in the schedule, and they provide transportation to the facility. I thought the cost was reasonable. They even offered to go with me and do an assessment for me. "

"I just finished visiting this Adult Day Care and was sooooo impressed! Spacious place, all the clients were happy and singing to the piano player they had. They served breakfast and lunch! And.... my grandmother will be able to get her physical therapy she needs there. They will be able to accept her COSA waiver. They also have a RN on duty. I feel so relieved. Now I can have transportation take her there and I can go to work with a peace of mind knowing they will be taking great care of her! Thank You!!! "

The mission of Mercy Neighborhood Ministries of Philadelphia, Inc. is to create partnerships and services that respond to the needs of those who are poor in the North Philadelphia community, especially women, children, and persons with special needs. The Sisters of Mercy have worked in partnership with the working poor of the Tioga-Nicetown community for more than 40 years. As a result, they have developed relationships across generations that have been manifested in the work of our ministry. Since its incorporation in 2003, MNM has remained a beacon of progress for children, adults, and the elderly in North Philadelphia. In 2005, MNM purchased an abandoned warehouse that opened in 2009 as the Mercy Family Center - the first green building constructed in North Philadelphia and now one of 42 silver level certified buildings in the City of Philadelphia. Mercy caters to needs of the senior community by offering a safe, caring, and stimulating environment: a comprehensive program that uniquely integrates social interaction, creative activities, personal care, and nursing services. Based on our experience and the evidence of health and medical providers, Adult Day Care is “the least expensive and most desired form of Elder Care,” in that seniors can age in place in their own homes while receiving the necessary services allowing them to live their last years with the dignity they deserve. (NADSA study comparing all Long Term Living options) Who can participate? Any adult age 60 and older can participate in our adult day program. Also eligible for adult day services are those experiencing difficulty with daily activities due to health problems and/or disability. What do we offer? Personal care plan Nursing services Social services Socialization and community Health and wellness activities Computer activities Music and crafts Recreational and cultural enrichment Delicious, healthy meals Necessary assistance to continue living independently in their own homes or with a family member High quality care by caring professionals Services that improve and enhance quality of life Sense of belonging and community Joy and peace of mind Mercy Neighborhood Ministries offers compassionate, loving care. From the moment you arrive, until it’s time to go home, you will receive plenty of attention, respect and a healthy dose of fun! According to the Pennsylvania HealthCare Association, the median annual cost for a private room in a Pennsylvania nursing home is $99,280. Being able to age in place, attend Adult Day Care, and avoid placement in skilled nursing facilities has saved our current participants at least 85 years of nursing facility costs, which would be approximately $8, 840, 880.00 over 5 years. In June, 2014, at the annual Adult Day licensing visit by the Dept. of Aging, Bureau of Quality Assurance, the licensing representative commended the Center for good fire safety training, procedures and nursing assessments, observations and goals which incorporate personal care issues which go above and beyond the expected regulations, helping to ensure the most current information is provided to caregivers about the participants. "Most of the staff was really kind, to me at least. You could sense that some of the people that worked directly with the patients on a day-to-day basis had a little less patience with some stranger like myself asking questions and walking around. No one was mean, or cruel, but you could definitely tell that the job took a toll on them. Regardless of how stressed out they seemed, I could tell they genuinely cared about the people they were caring for. I can't imagine they'd be doing it otherwise. The whole building was extraordinarily clean. The few people I talked to that actually lived there were extremely positive. They had really great attitudes toward their situations, and seemed to appreciate all of the activities that the staff provided. The painters and musicians particularly impressed me. "

"My mother-in-law goes to Senior Care of Broomall from 9:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon. It's a really good place. It's just like being in an assisted living situation, but they don't live there. She goes in the morning, she sits at the table, and they give them breakfast, and then they have some conversation to spark their memory, and they have a room for exercises. They have chairs, or they can stand or do whatever they want to do. They have another room for movies. They give them a full lunch -- more like a dinner -- and then you pick up and bring them home, and I was all for it. There are people that she could talk to. It's a great place. The staff is great. She has only been once a week for about a month now. We're trying to push her to go more. They're very courteous, clean, and appropriate for daytime activities for the elderly. "

"We choose Senior Care of Delran for my dad. The staff is very caring, kind, and very helpful. My dad is qualified for a VA grant to go there, and they walked me through the process. Many of the staff has been there for over 15 years, so they are well-loved by the participants. I chose them because I had recommendation from the people from the community for them. They have occupational and physical therapy. They have 3 nurses on staff. Every Friday they have a band that they bring in. The social worker there is very helpful. "

"I do not usually write reviews, but I was very impressed with this facility! The nurses could not do enough to ensure that my mother was comfortable. If I had any questions regarding my mother's care, the nurses always took the time to answer any questions. The cleanliness and rehab department were top notch! I would certainly recommend this facility. "

"The facility is wonderful ! my mom just started going here early in 2011. She attends 2 days a week, hoping it will be more. She needs the kind of daily activities and interaction that MLADC provides to keep her mind focused and help with her memory loss. They are always so nice, and I have finally seen my mom happy again to find a place that does fun activities for her. "

"My mom attends day care at Active Day Chestnut Hill. They're very attentive, and they respond to my inquiries. Their hours are very flexible, too. My mom seems to like it there. It is a good place, very friendly environment and very friendly staff. They provide meals as well. They do group activities, light exercise, quizzes, games and arts. They provide a monthly calendar of activities to the families and the patients. They're open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m."

"I am very pleased with St. John Neumann Nursing Home. The staff are always pleasant and very willing to help with any questions, concerns, or needs for my Grandmother. Being that she has Alzheimer's we were very wary about choosing a nursing home because we needed to make sure she was being taken care of well and not being abused. She wouldn't be able to tell us if there was something wrong so we needed to fully trust the facility. St. John Neumann and its staff has our full trust. We received many recommendations for them over the years prior to us placing our Grandmother there. The facility, and my Grandmother's room are always kept very clean and in good order. My Grandmother seems to be very happy there as they offer different amenities such as a game room, a dining room, a salon, holiday-themed parties, and various other activities. They also have flexible visiting hours during certain situations. I highly recommend them as a nursing home care provider for anyone who is interested. "

"My aunt is at Cumberland Manor. We chose this place because her primary care physician is actually the medical director, so that gave her some comfort going somewhere where she knew she would still see her own doctor. My experience with them has been excellent. They have been very good with her. They really are working with her. She has improved actually since she has been there. There are a lot more interactions. They make sure she is getting physical therapy. It has been very positive. What I like best about Cumberland, for us is that it is in a great location for our family because it is centrally located, and they are just so very friendly. It is very clean. It is just very exceptional. You don't walk and think you're in a nursing home, and that was important to us that the environment was a good healthy environment. "
