She knows my mother-in-law has dementia, and they know she is feisty. They help us to go about her finances, and they talk to her doctor about her medical records. My mother-in-law is in an apartment, and we are able to place a love seat, a sofa, a recliner, and her TV. She has a room for her twin size bed and a dresser with a mirror. She has a closet and a shower. My husband enjoys the food. They had activities like singing, dancing, and bingo. We recommended them to my husband's friend. "

"My sister and I visited Friendship Manor. The facility itself was very accommodating. It was very clean. As a matter of fact, it was a growing facility and it was quite large. The staff was very gracious. They answered our questions. They were very understanding of the difficulty to move your parents. I thought the people there were happy. The apartment seemed very pleasant. It would be a progressive need facility. So, when they were in the independent and they would need full care, they could move as needed. It was very good. I thought they fit for what they offered. "

"I've been to The Fountains Retirement Community. It was very nice and very beautiful. The staff was very courteous. They had fitness, theaters, cards, puzzles, and a library. The rooms were very nice. They had a couple of dining rooms. They were nice, clean, and pretty."

"We like Grand Haven. The person who gave the tour was very nice and friendly. She had a folder already that she could give us with information, and she was still able to take us on a tour. I didn't know that that would happen because we were in the area, so we called them on the phone to see if they could give us a folder or let us come in, and they were like, "You can come in and we'll give you a tour," so I was surprised that with COVID and everything, they were very accommodating. The staff showed us a couple of one-bedroom units, one that was furnished, and one that wasn't, they were very nice, and clean, and we were pleasantly pleased with how much space there was. We also saw the dining area. It is not being used because of COVID right now, but the meals are being delivered to the rooms. I also like that it's one level, so it seems kinda a little bit more friendly and homey. Activity wasn't at the top of my list to look for, but I know they have a regular activity area where they can do different things, games, movie nights, and things like. The staff was very nice, very friendly, and helpful, and when we walked through the first time, the place was nice and seemed clean, too."

"Park Vista Retirement Living - North Hill was very nice and very friendly. There were lots of things to do. The guy that does the tours was very nice. I have nothing bad to say about any of it as far as the public places. I saw people chatting everywhere and people walking around. It wasn't a mealtime, so we didn't see people eating, but the dining rooms were open. It was pretty lively. They showed me the one-bedroom with a den. It was very clean, but very small, and pretty outdated. There's not much with the finishes, it's just kind of blah, you can't paint the walls or anything; outdated carpet. They've got independent living and assisted living, and their prices go by what tier you're in as far as care needs. They have a bus or a van to take you to your doctors' appointments and things like that, but if you wanted to go out to eat, they would not take you to a restaurant. It's just for mostly doctors' appointments or maybe groceries, but I think you have to be in a group to do that. It's a nice place. I wouldn't have any problem with my parents living there, but part of the reason I decided not to go is because the rooms were small. I know they're small everywhere and all those things, but they also were pretty bland. The appliances were older, the cupboards were older, and the carpet was older. That would be my only complaint about it."

They have a reading area, a lobby, a theater, a large community room where they do crafts, have entertainment, and dine, and an outdoor patio area. I have eaten there before -- they had numerous events there before COVID -- and their food is fantastic."
