"I went to Bickford of Marion. It was smaller and it seemed very homey. It was really like a comforting, homey area. The apartments have microwaves and mini fridges because all their meals are provided. The person who took me around was very friendly and accommodating. She had a lot of information. They have two courtyards that had fences around them, so people that had memory problems couldn't get out."

"My aunt has moved into Lincolnway Villa AL. It was a small community. Everything was on one floor, and I met all the staff. Everyone was very helpful and very attentive to their guests. It's very clean, very personal, and home-like. My aunt doesn't like those games and stuff; it's just not her thing. They had us come for lunch and a long visit with any of the residents that we would like to visit with. The food is okay; it's not gourmet, but it's a homestyle food and they serve it. You sit at a table with three other guests, and they serve the food to you. You do not have to get up and get it. They have linen tablecloths, plates, and nice glasses; no plastic, everything's all glass. It's a small town, but with a big heart."

"The rooms at Leland Smith Assisted Living are very nice and clean. The whole facility is clean. Every staff member is helpful and do whatever is needed. Everybody is so caring there, even the residents. They have a library and a community room, a nice dining room, activities, good food, and a nice, safe shower. They have call systems that people wear around their necks like a necklace to call if they need help. "

"Wilton Retirement Community was a very friendly place. They called us back when we left messages and they were always informative. The grounds were very nice and very well kept. There's a lot of greenery. The rooms were very spacious. The dining room looked very nice and they get three meals a day. They have something that they organize for the residents every day."

"The facility was very nice, but I found the atmosphere very sad and dull. My grandpa had to stay there for some time because he had gotten surgery and my grandma could not take care of him. I saw the food that he got to eat for lunch and it just looked and smelled really really bad. Also, the whole place is so gray and dull, the walls are white, the carpeting in gray, there are no posters anywhere, I don't know why anyone would want to stay there. Pets are not allowed, and I thought that that was so sad because my grandpa loves his cats and he was not even able to see them. When I went to visit, they had to check who we were and it took forever to make the nurses accept us into the facility. They were really really slow and no at all active. the room he stayed in was nice, the bed looked comfortable, and it had one chair in it, so my grandma could sit down when she went to visit him. his room also had a nice tv propped on the wall, so he could watch his favourite shows. "My Mother was a resident for 4 months before she passed. For the first 2 1/2 months she was in the assisted living 2 bedroom unit which was beautiful. She had her own furnishing and really enjoyed it. Het room openefd on the court yard and she spent a lot of time outside on her patio. The last 1 1/2 months she was in the garden unit/ extended care unit. Throughout her stay she could not have had better care in either unit. They took excellent care of her and i always knew she was safe. She was always treated with dignity and all her needs were met. She always said her meals were so good. The fact that her dog could be there with her was such a plus. Thank you to all of you. We made some great friends. "

"My father had a much better time in the hospital than in assisted living. In the assisted living center, they came and worked with him only a few hours each day, whereas in the hospital, they worked with him the majority of the day. Also, in the facility, there would be patients out walking the hallways in the middle of the night yelling at the top of their lungs, making it very hard to sleep. Overall, I would never use this assisted living facility in the future. "

"Pennington Square is a wonderful facility. It allows for a less invasive option to the full blown nursing care facility next door. While the residents are well cared for, they are also able to have their privacy. The facility always has plenty of activities scheduled for the residents to choose from as well as beautiful facilities for residents to entertain themselves. The overall look and feel of the facility feels very much like a home. The staff is very friendly and always seem eager to help. Overall the facility is a wonderful resource for our community and allows citizens to receive the assistance they need and still feel the comfort of a home. "

"We like Grand Haven. The person who gave the tour was very nice and friendly. She had a folder already that she could give us with information, and she was still able to take us on a tour. I didn't know that that would happen because we were in the area, so we called them on the phone to see if they could give us a folder or let us come in, and they were like, "You can come in and we'll give you a tour," so I was surprised that with COVID and everything, they were very accommodating. The staff showed us a couple of one-bedroom units, one that was furnished, and one that wasn't, they were very nice, and clean, and we were pleasantly pleased with how much space there was. We also saw the dining area. It is not being used because of COVID right now, but the meals are being delivered to the rooms. I also like that it's one level, so it seems kinda a little bit more friendly and homey. Activity wasn't at the top of my list to look for, but I know they have a regular activity area where they can do different things, games, movie nights, and things like. The staff was very nice, very friendly, and helpful, and when we walked through the first time, the place was nice and seemed clean, too."
