Every single member of the staff has treated him with respect and love as if he was their dad or grandfather. The patience and dedication the Pt and Ot have with their patients is outstanding. They listen to their patients and the families concern on how to make their stay comfortable and in my dad’s case to get him physically dependent again. Thank you Vista Staff for taking such great care of my dad and rehabbing him to become independent again so he can go back home."

"My mother is in Luther Manor. The location is better than others, and how they take care of the place is a whole lot better. It's clean and very well maintained."

"I am staying at The Fountains. They are very kind to all their residents. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. They've been very kind to me while I've been looking around and being very willing to work with me. The meals have improved a lot. They have many activities. I don't participate in a lot because I'm in independent living, but they have them. They have a lot of private parties. They offer a lot of different games. They're very kind about taking people to different locations if they wish to go out to different meals."

"We toured The Summit at Bettendorf. We saw some of the memory care and some of the others, but independent living is what we were interested in. I was very impressed with the community. The independent living apartments are especially nice, with larger square footage than some of the others. You get more bang for your buck kind of thing. The activities and the socialization possibilities are better. The physical activity possibilities are top-notch with free classes. The physical director handles everything as far as activities and gives them exercises to strengthen certain things, and I love that. I also love the fact that they could get their meals any time of day, and they weren't stuck with whatever the meal of the day was. They could pick off a menu and it's included with the monthly fee. If they were gone in the middle of the day or the evening and they missed the main meal like they would in some of the other places, they wouldn't have to worry about it and they could just get it whenever. It's lovely. It's very clean. The staff is very courteous and helpful."

"Grand Haven was large and open. The room was big, so Mom could put in her own belongings. She would have her own bathroom, and she could bring in her own bed. The place was very good. They always have activities going on like trips. They would have 3 meals plus snacks. They can have ice cream any time they want, and they can also have any kind of food if they're hungry at any time. It was very good talking with the people there. They were very upbeat and all were saying "hi" to Mom. The residents can also help grow the garden and grow their own vegetables."

"We will be moving to Park Vista Retirement Living North Hill. The tour was good, everybody was nice, the place was very clean, and the apartment that we're getting is really nice. The place itself looks really nice and some parts are pretty fancy. We'll be getting a one-bedroom, and when we move in there the meals will be provided twice a day. They have a beauty shop and barber shop, they have amenities, and all kinds of stuff. They have a place to exercise, a library, and what they call a pub. They have lots of different places and things to do there, so it's just nice. The guy that showed us around was very, very nice, and very accommodating. We get a housekeeper every other week, the utilities are included, and all the meals are included."

"My mom is a resident of Crosstown Square. They've been wonderful to my mother. It's changed in ten years because it wasn't the nicest place when she started there. They've remodeled since she's been there. There's a lot of pluses. There are some minuses, but they did a nice job there. The staff was excellent. I wish they would get a new heating system. I enjoyed their food. They do have good food. She plays cards. She plays bingo, does happy hour, does crafts, and goes on all the trips they take. They do have nice activities there. It was high expense-wise, but my mom has been very happy there, so you can't put a price tag on that."

"I thought the assisted living facility was amazing. The entire building felt very homey and sweet. From the moment I walked into the lobby, I felt like I was in a house rather than some place clinical. They have a big lobby with a fireplace, lots of comfy chairs, and a few radios. The residents seemed to congregate in the lobby's to meet up and talk and they all seemed really comfortable and at home. In the dining area, it felt more like a big dining room instead of a cafeteria. The residents all work with the staff to set the tables for dinner and they get to pick from a small menu that is changed daily. But the best thing about this assisted living home was the staff. They were all very friendly and treated the guests like friends they haven't seen in a while, rather than people they're paid to look after. It was a great experience that I would be happy to have a loved one stay at. "

"My father-in-law is at Park Vista Retirement Living. I like that they're always there. It's very clean. The food is amazing. It's a restaurant type. They have a main meal, but you can order what you want, even if it's not for that day. You could even order meatloaf and it's a full meal. Then they come back and ask if you want more. The maintenance guy was amazing. He came to help hang up stuff. They made it stress-free to move in. They had carts to help move in and they offered to help. We moved in before we started paying rent, so there was no stress. He moved in on a Thursday, and on Friday, he attended music. They had a guy playing music and was singing there. He went down and had a good time. He keeps talking about that. Everything that they said they offered, they offered. So, they are worth the money for peace of mind, safety, cleanliness, and the ability to be in a community of people, which is very important, but one of the main reasons we picked them is because their nursing staff is there. We checked out all the places that we went but when it came to how many residents there were to how many nursing staff, CNAs, and helpers, Park Vista Retirement Living offered us the most comfort that my father-in-law would be able to get help if he needed it."

"My parents will be moving in to Liberty Village of Geneseo this March 22nd. We chose them because the size of the town is smaller, and my dad can still hopefully drive around for a little while. We couldn't go in because of COVID. We just sat outside with the director and she was so helpful in answering my questions and talking to my parents. They're going in for the independent living, but they have assisted living and memory care if we need it. We went into one empty apartment that they were getting ready to get painted. The apartment was just normal, but they had a courtyard in the middle, and I liked that idea. I liked that kind of a neighborhood feel. The location was great because even though Geneseo is a small town, it has a hospital, so I liked that a lot."

"I toured Sarah Harding, and then decided not to go. But I was ready to go there. It's independent living. I think if you can't get around yourself or take care of yourself, then you have to go somewhere. They want independent people there. It's very friendly, it's neat and clean. They have laundry facilities. You don't have a stove, so they've got a microwave, and a refrigerator. Activities are outstanding. They got an activities director, and they got their own bus. If I understand it, I think the bus will take you to doctor's appointments if you need that, and the bus also goes to out-of-town trips and places. I rode their bus one time; they were going to Rock Island to Circa 21 for a play. The activities director has got things going all the time at Sarah Harding. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They're good people."

"I have been living in Countryside for five years now. It is quite handy. We have mail delivery inside. We have a laundrymat inside. The people are great. The staff is very friendly and very hopeful. I do my own cleaning inside the apartment, and they keep the outside clean. I also do my own cooking. We have a community room where we do what we want to do like bingo or play games. We also have a computer room. "

"Regency Retirement was a really nice community and with apartment-style units that vary in size. They had all the amenities, as far as laundry and garage. The people needed to go out for doctor’s appointments, but it was a nice facility. Some of the rooms were spacious. She looked at two bedrooms and couple of smaller ones. They seemed very neat and clean. "
