"Heritage Woods is a great assisted living facility. It is a newer facility and everything is new and up-to-date. The staff are friendly, kind, and helpful. The process of getting grandma moved into Heritage woods was fairly easy, and it was a smooth transition. They also offer and easy out lease option, so that if for some reason, your family member doesn't like it there, they only need to give a 1 month notice. The facility and staff are very accomodating if you want to hold a special event on the premises. There are many different activities for the residents to get involved in. There is a patio out back to sit and enjoy. The only thing that made me give this location a 4 star rather than 5 is the food. This is probably a complaint at most places though. The food is decent, but not much excitement to it.Overall, I think it is a great location. "

"Senior Star at Elmore Place accommodated us very well. It's fairly new, very clean and nice. The staff who showed us around was very nice and very well informed. We appreciated them. We were shown a lot of amenities. They had a workout area with bikes, a library, and a computer room."

"My mother-in-law is at The Alverno. They have enough people on staff to take care of the people. It's very clean and neat. The meals are adequate for the people. They treat her very well, and she's adjusting to it. So far, they have met our expectations. They play bingo, they paint, and they also have a little game with the balloon and fly swatters where they sit and swat at the balloon as they exercise. One day when we were in there, they had them all shucking corn, which they seemed to enjoy."

"My mom is a resident of Bickford of Clinton. Everything is wonderful about the place. All the staff, the seniors, the activity director, and everybody has been wonderful to my mother. They've gone way out of their way to help her, no matter what. She just loves it there. She loves the chair exercises and the activities. This all lifted her health. It's just amazing. They play bunco, bingo, and checkers. They do activities and make all kinds of different crafts. She just absolutely loves it. The social aspect is just wonderful, too. When she went in, she wasn't feeling well. This has lifted her up through the years. It's just amazing. I just love the place, and I can't say enough about it. The staff is just excellent. Everybody is so caring and nice. If they have any questions for my sister, my brother, or me, they come to us. They're just so helpful. I don't have anything bad to say because they've all just been so good to her. I think overall, the cooks do the best they can with what the recipes require of them. I was a cook myself, so I totally understand. The facility is beautiful inside. It's homey and comfortable. It's not like you're in a hospital, like some of the nursing homes I've been in. My dad was in one with Alzheimer's. They've just been above and beyond. My mom loves the activities, and she loves playing. I know there's other games that they've played. In terms of value for money, it's still less than going to a nursing home that's going to be $6,000 or $7,000 a month."

"We chose the Addington Place of Clinton but I don't know if we're gonna stay there because they just raised their rates. Mom's got a studio and it's nice. The people are a little cliquey, but other than that, it seems like a nice place. They go above and beyond to make sure that they're involved. The food is not very good, and they're trying to improve that. Other than that, besides the price increase, they're OK. The staff is great. They go on bus rides. They decorate the pumpkins. They go on Wal-Mart trips and stuff like that. They have a courtyard, a place where you can do puzzles and stuff, and two sitting areas."

"I went to Park Vista Retirement Living. The facilities were all together in the same area, but we're really looking more for independent living for my mom because she's able to do stuff. This place was pricy. The staff was very nice, knowledgeable, and friendly. The facility was very clean, well kept, and organized. They had communal areas where you could watch TV or whatever, and a library where you could go check out books."

"I did a tour of Windsor Manor - Morrison. I like it because it's close to me right now. I'm driving to visit my husband every day. With this coming winter -- I have a breathing issue, and it's been hard with this heat. It is less than a mile from my house. I like the place and the people who run it. The staff were always very nice, very hospitable, and ready to help you with anything. There is absolutely nothing in the rooms. You have to furnish everything, and that's what kind of concerned me. You have to furnish your bed, the recliner, the TV, and table to put it on. They have a walking garden that's sectioned off, and he's an outdoor person. If he gets walking, that's where it would be. It's very clean and the food was good."

"We like Grand Haven. The person who gave the tour was very nice and friendly. She had a folder already that she could give us with information, and she was still able to take us on a tour. I didn't know that that would happen because we were in the area, so we called them on the phone to see if they could give us a folder or let us come in, and they were like, "You can come in and we'll give you a tour," so I was surprised that with COVID and everything, they were very accommodating. The staff showed us a couple of one-bedroom units, one that was furnished, and one that wasn't, they were very nice, and clean, and we were pleasantly pleased with how much space there was. We also saw the dining area. It is not being used because of COVID right now, but the meals are being delivered to the rooms. I also like that it's one level, so it seems kinda a little bit more friendly and homey. Activity wasn't at the top of my list to look for, but I know they have a regular activity area where they can do different things, games, movie nights, and things like. The staff was very nice, very friendly, and helpful, and when we walked through the first time, the place was nice and seemed clean, too."

"My parents enjoy living here. The apartment are nice sizes, small full kitchen, and free services include transportation, activities (many to choose from), nurse on call, security, and medic alert. You choose your meal plans. My parents enjoyed interacting with the other residents who were pleasant. They took part in activities such as playing cards, movies, special themed events, Weight Watchers, manicure/pedicure, hair salon, and more. The staff was very caring and responsive to their needs. "

"Woodridge Supportive Living is a new facility. They managed to get dad a 1-bedroom. My mom chose this facility, but now she doesn't want to be there. She doesn't like the food, so I guess the food is not good. But the place is nice. They have a nice dining room and they sit down at assigned table and the food is brought to them. I really like the place and I love the people. If they can put up with mom, they're exceptional. She's not very pleasant, but my dad was extremely pleasant. The facility also have a salon, a library, a movie room or theater where they can watch movies. They also have activities and they have groups that come in and do sing-alongs. I think the only thing that's really too bad is they can't find good kitchen cooks. "

"The people that run Holiday Palmer Hills have been super nice and super easy to work with. They've been excellent. They encouraged mom a lot to make the change a little easier. Her room is nice. I think it's perfect for her needs and she seems to like it. We did a few touch-ups before she moved in and they got that done right away. They helped her out, like getting her cable TV and internet worked. So they've been pretty good so far. She says the food is good. They got a restaurant-style dining area and it seems very clean and nice. They have a calendar of events that she can participate in if she wants to. It's just an older building, but nothing major. As far as the price goes, they've done pretty well and they even worked with us."

"My mother is at Ridgecrest Village. The staff members are friendly, helpful, and caring. It's been a good experience. The facility is clean, and it seemed nice and homey. Her room has a big window and a bathroom. It has been very comfortable for the family to come visit. She is in their skilled nursing care facility and also receiving hospice care from a third-party provider. She's still in the same room, though. They allowed her to stay in the room, which was nice."
