"I went to Avery Heights. I like the openness of the facility, and I like the activity that I saw around, and people interacting. It was very well maintained. It was clean, and they seemed to be very active on that. There were several floor plans available, and they all looked appropriate. For me, the one-bedroom is maybe a little small. Other than that, the floor plans were fine."

"The Residence at Ferry Park is very beautiful and well-kept, with lots of natural light. I toured their memory care and saw an apartment there. I did not get to sample any of their food, but I'm sure it's good because they have a very nice menu. The staff and the people are very friendly, very attentive, and very nice."

"Brookdale South Windsor was nice. We liked it. It's really nice inside. However, the rooms were a little smaller than the place we chose. Everyone was very friendly when we were there. The building seemed so much bigger from the inside."

"I toured Addison Place at Glastonbury. They were kind and professional. They made you feel welcome. Debbie was very nice in explaining different options of what we would have for the style of living. They had patients in their 70s, which is what I needed because some places have a much older clientele, and I was trying to stick with something more age-appropriate. They answered questions. They've worked with me through this and trying to make this happen. They gave me a blueberry loaf to bring home, which was good. The building was nice and clean."

"The Village at Kensington Place is big enough, but it's not humongous. The memory care unit has a fabulous setup. The rooms are clean. The food was great. I thought it was a really nice place. The people seemed very caring. The girl who was going to do the tour had something come up, and she asked if I would mind going with the head chef. The chef was wonderful. They sent me home with a fresh loaf of freshly baked cranberry bread and it was fabulous. They had an outdoor space in the back of the building. They have two other little areas where they can go outside."

"I visited Suffield by the River to see their memory care. It's top-notch and a great place. It's right near my home, very clean, and well-appointed. The staff could be a little bit friendlier, though. It's got everything that anybody would need but it's also a little bit pricey. They have shared rooms and private ones if you want to pay extra. They have common areas and a dining hall. They have activities and plenty of stuff for the residents to do. They also have a lot of in-house services like the usual hairdresser."
