"I toured The Leven Oaks. It was closer to me. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to tour the actual place. It was very pleasant and welcoming, and even the residents there were very friendly. I was able to speak to the marketing individuals there to show me around. I toured one room, the dining area, the kitchen, the administration area, the lounge, and the backyard. I just had a very detailed orientation of the place. I was able to see a bigger picture if my in-laws were there, and how it would be. It was very private tailoring to their needs, and everything was just explanatory over the phone, so a lot of things were clarified. So, I enjoyed the tour that I had. The staff showed me a private room with a private bath. They had some furniture there to make it look very comfy and cozy. When I went in there, it was very snug, especially for individuals. For a couple, it might work too, you just have to pan it out. If my in-laws were to be there, then that would be the kind of room that they would like, like to have their own private baths, and it has the scenery of the backyard."

"Brookdale Monrovia was beautiful. They take bariatric patients. Everybody was friendly and attentive. The rooms were nice and there was no hospital smell in the hallways. It was very clean. They have a lot of activities for the residents, so it was just very nice. The staff was great. Susan was wonderful and everybody else was very nice too."

"I'm a resident of Leisure Vale Assisted Living. It's been very, very relaxed for me. I enjoy it. The cleaning lady is always there if you need a mop or you want to get your bathroom cleaned. She's very reliable. She's here every other day. The laundry is always done the right time, the right day. I've had no complaints. I have a refrigerator, a bathroom, and furniture. You get three meals a day. We have every so often a dance, a live pet show, a musician or singer, and we have bingo and church. The staff is very professional. Obviously, they went to school for their caregiver training. I like the food. It's like diner style. It has the grilled cheese, French fries, stuff like that. There's nothing wrong with this building. All the rooms are quite large, the day room is large, so is the kitchen. Since I've been here, we've had enough entertainment, like they had petting goats, dogs and a little pony. I think it's worth it. I was paying this much at the independent living I was in and I got the same thing. They got a patio in the back, a lobby and an outdoor sitting area in the front."

"My aunt moved into Glen Terra last June. She seemed to be doing well, is more independent, and already joining the activities and eating well. They have exercise programs on week days, some outings, and bring them to church if needed. They can eat in the dining hall, order, or select from the meal program, then order in and eat at their apartments. It's almost like a hotel."

"We toured Sparr Heights Estates Senior Living. They have an activity calendar with things scheduled all day long. They get the residents to the activities. The day I toured, they had bingo, an art project, and a singing session. They had musicians come in with cellos that played the concerts for them, so I'm very impressed. They have some facility pets there that they bring around for the residents. I brought my three teenage children with me and we've been there for five hours, and my kids loved it. Linda was so accommodating, and with different personal issues going on with each family and their needs, she was able to exhaust how they could help with all of that, and I was impressed. We didn't eat there but while we were there, Linda had snacks brought in for my kids. The other thing that is special about this place is, that other places have locked-up hours that you can't go visit. At Sparr Heights, you can visit 24 hours a day. If I wanted to check in at 3 a.m. I could and I'm allowed to spend the night if I want. I'm just amazed. It's such an open-door policy. They're like completely transparent on everything there. I have been to facilities that look more high-class than this one. This facility, it's like you don't walk into it thinking it's a five-star hotel, it's a bit more homey."

"While evaluating Sakura, Shin and Daniel made my mom and myself feel very comfortable that she would be well cared for. There was transparency and all our questions answered honestly. After being there for about a month, she confirmed that our trust was well founded. She is enjoying her stay and feels part of the community."

"I have visited Hollenbeck Palms before because I knew someone who was living there. I'm somewhat familiar with it. The nice thing about it is that they have independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing all in one facility, so they have it all. The staff and employees were very nice, courteous, and informative. It's a historic building, it's really nice, and the grounds were beautiful. It's a large eight-acre property, and it looked very well-maintained. I actually want to live there. I was able to try the food once and I understand that it has to be modified with the sodium, and it has to be healthy for seniors, but for me personally, it's bland food. I'm not a resident though, and the people that live there probably like it. For the layout, it has individual buildings, and for me it's fine because I'm mobile, but for those that are not so mobile, they might be confined to their own areas. I would say the layout seemed appropriate, it was functional. There were a lot of stairs, but it was nice."

"I loved Belmont Village; it was so pleasant and the sanitation was very good. I tasted the food and it was very good -- the menu was as well. The staff was very pleasant, polite, and very hospitable. They also have a pastor who comes to lead bible study once a week. They have different kinds of activities. I'm hoping I can afford to move there. "

"Hollywood Hills is wonderful. My mother actually loves it. I can't say enough about it. I'm absolutely extremely pleased. My mother has been a resident since the 1st of July, so it has been 90 days. It's very well run. They're very conscientious and very empathetic. It's a great, great community. Everything is lovely. It's a brand new facility. It's absolutely beautiful. She has a private room; she loves it. The service is great, the food is great, and the people are great. Everything is great. It's a lovely facility and absolutely beautiful. I don't have any complaints."

"It is a very nice facility and the only reason why we didn't go with this one because it was far. Their halls were nice and wide so it didn't feel cramped in the hallways. It's very well lit. Carpets were out. It looks like a very upscale hotel. The staff was very friendly. The walls in the hallways had this bar that people can hold on and the bar looked like an art decor. It was really nice. The rooms were large. They had a device were they would put something on the senior citizens so that if they fall and they stay on the floor too long, it will start beeping the front desk and that was a very nice feature. If you're sick the meals will be brought to your rooms. They have a movie room where you go in and all the chairs were like a movie theater style, very nice. I really like that aspect. "

"My grandfather was in the Belmont assisted-living home in Hollywood, California. He really liked it here. I liked it too but was very concerned about what kind of care he might be receiving (or not receiving) when we were not present. We received multiple calls informing us he had fallen from standing or fallen out of his wheel chair and gotten hurt. In my experience, all the staff was very friendly. The facility was very clean and my grandfather had a nice room. My grandmother did not like the Belmont assisted living home. I never understood why. She may have just been more concerned with keeping herself out of it versus anything to actually do with my grandfather or the assisted living home. I do not like the location of the assisted living home. Hollywood is no place for the elderly to live. It is way too noisy and bustling. "
