My wife has moved into The Landings of Prescott Valley. It seems like there's a pretty decent staff, but not enough actual medical personnel. They have good facilities. They have things to do, and people are mostly responsive. My wife has a little problem, like she was supposed to get bathed a couple of days ago, and they didn't bathe her till last night, and that wasn't so good. With regards to activities, they have programs for the residents to exercise. You can get transported to various places like Walmart. Food is sometimes good, and you have choices, too. The food was okay.

Rooms were okay. The call button was across the room from my husband the door was closed and he was calling for help. He fell resulting in 13 stitches while under their care. Dirty disposable briefs were mixed in with his clothing and personal items which smelled horrendously. No refund has been issued even though they sent my husband to the hospital and was not in their care facility at that time.

My mother lived at The Landings for a little over 1 year, from 2022 to 2023. In that time there were numerous medication errors from staff simple not giving prescribed medications to staff not ordering required medications as well as other neglect and theft. When brought to management’s attention it was always the same excuse: “we did nothing wrong, this is a pharmacy issue.” Or “ we now have a new call system in place”. The pharmacy was contracted with The Landings. When we contacted the pharmacy they always explained that The Landings team either did not order the meds or sent the order without a doctor’s signature. At one point The Landings discharged my mother from the pharmacy system. ( I have a photo of this) The Landings, of course, also denied this. On two different occasions my mother was extremely ill and pushed her call light. When no one came she called family. The first time it took over 20 minutes for staff to come into her room, while she was vomiting in the bathroom. The second and last time was on Nov 13th, she called me and I stayed on the phone. She couldn’t breathe and needed her oxygen. I used another phone and called The Landings phone 3 times, it was only an answering system. I got in my car and drove to The Landings, while trying to keep my mom calm. It took them over 25 minutes to enter her room. I took her home with me that night to never return to the neglect she endured while at the aesthetically pleasing facility. When the staff gave me the medications they had, there were 4 medications missing. I asked what they planned on doing that night when her prescribed medications were due to be given. The staff said they would have documented “ not delivered”. When I got home and looked in the medication bag, they had given us someone else’s prescription medication. ( I have photos of this). The LPNs who oversee the medical treatment, such as medication management, the DON, and the Care Manager are both incompetent and uncaring. It is unfortunate that the management does not see this incompetence and neglect. I have reported all this to Az Dept of Health. They are investigating. I have everything documented and recorded.

My mother moved into the Landings a little over a year ago. 2022-2023. In that time period there was 7 incidences of theft. There was several medication errors of not giving her her medications or not ordering her medications. When reporting these errors to the DON nurse or the care manager they always blamed the pharmacy. After investigating this was not true. It was the Landings error and they never took responsibility and were never concerned how this impacted my mother’s health. On September 27th, 2023 my mom was vomiting in her bathroom and she pushed her call button for 20 minutes. I was on the phone with her. The Med Tech did not come to her room for 20 minutes. The next day I reported this neglect to the head nurse and her response was we are short staffed. The next incident was on 10-11-23 and 10-12-23. My mom was not given her thyroid medication both mornings. Usually given at 6 am and I called both days at 7:00 am and she was sleeping and said no one had given her the thyroid medication. Both days reported to head nurse and the head nurse said it was a computer glitch. I called the Med Tech on 10-12-23 she looked at computer and my mom did not have any thyroid medication it had not been ordered. So she did receive her thyroid medication for two days! On November 13th my mom was not able to breathe and pushed her call button for 20 minutes. No one came to her room to help her when her oxygen for 20 minutes. My sister had to go pick up my mom due to the negligence. I have documentation and all of this has been reported to the AZ Health Department.

We're choosing The Landings of Prescott Valley for my sister because everything was included. It was a very clean establishment. The people that I talked to were really friendly and very informative. And also, it was probably the cheapest of all the different facilities that I went to. The rooms were perfect for elderly people. They had a beauty parlor for the women and a place to get haircuts for the men. They had a place there for laundry, and the people there helping would do the laundry for you. They had cleaning services. They had a very good 3 meals a day menu. I saw their menu, and the food was appealing to me, plus they had free snacks that they could get at any time. So, it was pretty good. I even saw that they were giving assisted individual exercise classes for the elderly.

The people at The Landings of Prescott Valley were pleasant. I saw everything I needed. It was clean and well taken care of. Everything was neat. I've watched it get built for the last three years. COVID slowed the start of it down. It started with a smaller facility and they doubled the size of it once they started. They had their first building permit and then they doubled it because we're short of a retirement community around here. The staff was friendly. I just had the one that took us through it and showed us areas that were coming into play with the care that my wife needs. The facility looked good, but it's just built on vacant land, so there were no trees around it. There wasn't much landscape, but it was all neat and clean. There were no weeds or anything. It's a pleasant-looking place, but nothing outstanding for being the kind of a facility that it is. Nothing is distracting about it. It's a new building. You don't have trees and you don't have shrubbery or stuff. It's still growing. The staff during the tour was thorough and complete with what she could show us.

The Landings of Prescott Valley didn't have as many facilities as what I needed, but it's a newer place. It's very well kept, very light, and airy. They had one available room, and it was very nice. It was also very neat and clean. The staff and the residents that I met were very friendly. It was all one story, which was nice too.

I found The Landings of Prescott Valley for my mom. She has moved in. It's new, it's clean, the staff is great. They've got a dining room, they've got a theater room and they do your laundry, give you your medications, and do all sorts of activities. They have bingo, they have pets come in once a week.

I have placed my wife into The Landings of Prescott Valley. It's a beautiful new facility. It has just opened in April. They have a memory care for 30 patients and she's number 6, so nobody has ever been in her room. It's pretty close to the hospital too. One of the things I like the most is that it is brand new, but it has been built with the patients in mind for the memory care. It is very light with lots of windows. There is an atrium in the memory care. There's very wide hallways; my wife wants to wander all day long. The rooms are furnished very nicely, very much like home. There is a beautiful view out her window. She can see the Mingus Mountains, and there are flowers in the front that she can look at. We are getting ready to take some of her things to her. They will hang pictures on the wall for us. She got her radio and other personal items that she can have in her room to make her surroundings seem more familiar. I checked her in last Wednesday. They got her in there very quickly because I needed that. I had knee surgery. They were so accommodating and so generous and nice. I can't say enough good things. The staff there is just amazing. They're really great people. They have made special meals for my wife and brought them to her room. Because it's only four months old, everything is brand spanking new, and I'm sure they'll keep it that way. They are letting her do the activities that she wishes to do, and they're monitoring that. She wanders, so they have a floater that kind of looks after her. She can't wander out of there, but just make sure that she's OK. Sometimes they open the atrium door up, and she wanders outside. It's an all-enclosed atrium. She's able to walk out there and come back. They always have people that are constantly supervising, so nothing bad could happen. It was by far not the most expensive that I looked at.
