I toured Canyon Winds Independent Living. I liked the people that were living there. The staff was very pleasant. The food was excellent. And, I mainly liked the fact that everything was in one building. You didn't have to call for a golf cart to take you to an activity, except the pool. One of the things that I liked about the people of Canyon Winds is there was a wide variety of people there from wealthy Wyoming farmers or ranchers who were retiring to better weather to women who had very little funds and were living in a studio. You could go from a studio to a one-bedroom to a two-bedroom to a two-bedroom with a view. There were lots of options for living. I liked the idea that it was more of a community rather than just a whole lot of well-to-do people living together.

My mom is staying at Canyon Winds Independent Living. Her apartment is lovely. The food is fabulous. The people are great. The staff goes above and beyond. She loves it there. They have a theater, a gym, and exercise classes. They play bingo. They have certain groups that get together and play different card games. They have happy hour every Friday at 3:00 and entertainment often. The management is wonderful and attentive. I eat there a lot with my mom, and I've never had a bad meal there. They have a jacuzzi. I couldn't recommend it more highly.
