I was a resident of Blue Sky in March 2015 but left after 29 days due to the most unhealthy atmospheres, laziest staff along with mistreatment. of not only myself but my roommate as well. She was 101 myself 72. There were two caregivers who were physically fit and able to transport, do bedpans, etc. Neither wanted to get up at night to do bedpans or assist, so we were wrapped in diapers and I given oxy to "help me sleep". Thus you lay in urine all night long so the two of them could sleep. Even though I was told by Kathy, the owner , they would provide 24 hr care, either one caregiver or the other. Next, I was being transferred to my scooter via the hoyer. This was the third time but this day the caregiver wasn't paying attention and I went down landing on my hip along with my scooter and then the hoyer landed on me and the scooter. The caregiver called in a non-emergency to 911. The PT who was there told her to call back as an emergency. The caregiver said she didn't know what to do. At the ER I was told my clothes reeked which was due to my not being allowed to get on "the list" at Blue Sky for a bath. 2 weeks from the time I came to BS. Next. I waited until 8PM one night for supper. I always saw the caregivers go by with family style frozen dinners so I assumed their "home cooked dinner" was ready. When I asked about dinner, I was told they BS had ran out of dinner (soup this time) she said they didn't have any more to eat. I could speak up unlike other residents and told her she had better fix something. This angered her because she said she just did the dishes, I wound up with 1/4 bowl of soup, no crackers, fruit, etc. These are only a few of the care I was given. A new owner was taking over Rose who was very nice kind and concerned. When she was at the facility, the caregivers made sure we had hamburgers with all the trimmings and even a snack. When she left everything went back to normal with the large female caregiver yelling at the residents sitting and watching tv etc. My daughter had checked out this group living and I also thought Blue Sky was a good place to be. As you can see it was very poor. I only rated 1 star because It wouldn't let me exit. They deserve a ZERO.

My room is attractive. It’s not all that big, but it’s functional and it meets our needs. Blue Sky is very big on cleanliness; that’s their number one priority. They’re not perfect by any stretch, but they’re trying. They strive for the home like environment. They need to work on their bedside manner and how the staff treats residents in general. They also need to work on the specific needs of the patient. If the family or if the patient required a certain thing that needs to be done, they need to be accommodating, and I’m finding that they are not.
