It is pretty difficult to find people who can relate to people in their 90s with various impairments. I can't speak to all the factors. The level of social contact is not always where we would want it. In terms of response it was excellent, unfortunately a caregiver that we thought was a good match ended up dumping my mother on the sidewalk due to insufficient care with a wheelchair. It has taken a while for her to recover.

On one hand, I feel my mother is in good hands because someone is always there, but it has taken my time to evaluate caregivers and orient them to my liking. We have had a problem with a caregiver that was completely unsuitable for us, and had to be ejected from the phone. I received an unauthorized time for an hour that someone did not do. I do not want to deal with charges.

I've had one female and one male visit me from Visiting Angels. Each of the visits is four hours, and I found both of them really very good and very capable. They did what I wanted and needed to be done without hesitation, and one of them will be here again tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it. The lady changed the bed and did light dusting of the house since it hasn't been done in a while. The gentleman did some chores for me around the house and accompanied me as I drove to pick up a grocery order from Walmart. In addition to that, he moved some items that I could not myself in the condition I'm in, and helped me and my wife put away the groceries in the kitchen. The only thing that bothered me a little bit was that because of a prior commitment in scheduling or whatever it was, I didn't have the same person I had the first time. I'd like to have one stick with me so I don't have to instruct them on what they need to do every time, since most of those things are routine.

It has a huge impact because there are certain things my mother is unable to do, and the caregivers help her get those things done. I would tell a friend that it varies depending on who is actually doing the work. Some of them are good and some of them are bad.

I had the extra set of eyes to be there for my mom and they were there to communicate with me. We were having a problem with the nursing home taking care of brushing her hair consistently. They were suppose to brush her hair and the caregiver told me that they were not doing that. I contacted the nursing home and we had that fixed. They have been a blessing. They visited regularly and they were able to be advocates for my mom. They were able to keep me updated. My mother loved Heidi.

Visiting Angels has been here three times, and so far, I'm happy. They called me back immediately and gave prompt attention to my call and concerns. The caregivers are always on time and excellent. However, the cost is very prohibitive, so I can't use them as often as I'd like. They provide housekeeping, companionship, meals, and some personal care.

Visiting Angels care is really good, though it’s very expensive at $10,000 a month for 24/7 care. I think we’re going on our fourth month with Visiting Angels. We have two people that switch off every fourth day. My dad is very hard to manage.

Visiting Angels is working out well. We are just a month into there, so it’s still developing, but so far, everything has worked out fine. In terms of scheduling, it has been fine. The caregivers' work attitude has been very good. They seemed very caring to my mother-in-law.
