Happy in VA Beach!

While planning for a trip to VA Beach for myself and my 80 year old Mom, I began my search for a home health care agency to assist me with my mother for our week long stay at the beach. I completed an online form on caring.com and received a very friendly voicemail from John, Shirley's husband, the very next day. He assured me that Shirley would be glad to provide me some assistance. I then spoke with Shirley and right away she asked me what I needed and what were my Mother's limitations. She then called back with someone in mind to assist us for the entire week. I am so pleased to have found Preferred Care at Home of Virginia Beach because they personalized my experience of using an agency out of my normal area with only a few days notice. Shirley and John came to the hotel where we stayed to meet us and bring all necessary documents about their company. That made me feel extra special that they took time to visit with us as soon as we arrived to VA Beach. They were able to talk with both me and Mom to get to know us and made us feel more like family and not just "another client" to them. Shirley provided us with 2 wonderful caregivers who were professional, on time, knowledgeable and caring. They were able to adapt to my Mother's needs right away. I have dealt with many agencies within the Northern Virginia area and I must say, I have never experienced such professionalism from an agency or caregivers as I received from Preferred Care at Home. I would highly recommend this company for anyone looking for the best care for a loved one! I only wish they were closer to me since I would like to have them provide me assistance on a full-time basis. I am thankful to Shirley and John for the care they provided me and my mother and will certainly use them again when we come back to Virginia Beach. Thanks again!!

I am using Preferred Care because I needed a caregiver for my father who is 100% blind and has dementia. She comes in MWF for 3 hours a day. She is a military wife and therefore my father has this in common with her. He was in USN for 27 years. She is soft spoken and attentive - perfect for my dad.

This provider gave my mother an in-home assessment. The original person I had decided to be more flexible. If I need a caregiver in the future, I will use Preferred Care at Home.
