The caregiver spent a lot of time on her phone when she was here. I have to point out things to her that she did not do or that she could have done better. The time was unreliable as far as giving me any advance notices of changes. Sometimes the caregiver would be a half hour late.

It's terrible because I don't have anyone to help me out right now. I gave them a lot of opportunities to fix the issues I had with them. They need to learn how to deal with patients. They need to understand that we are people. When they speak to people, they need to have people skills. The other thing is that they are hiring anyone. I could tell by the product of what comes out to my house.

We get our hours. With him having a lot of doctor's appointments, it is hard to navigate hours. We get to do our own hours, and we have to be flexible with all the appointments. I like her because she reaches out to all the people and goes above and beyond customer service. When something is missing, she is like your own personal assistant.

I think they could have the supervisors come out and check on things instead of just the nurses. They could have the case workers come out and check to make sure things are okay. We have been with a few companies, and some of them have nurses that come every week, and Talem only has a nurse who comes every 90 days. They could have nurse who could refill the medicine.

Before this started, I would go a week without taking a bath. Before this, I was a sales professional. I never left the house without being in a suit and tie and clean shaven, but then with my condition, that began to go by the wayside and this has turned things around. They have worked with us to get the help that I need in the appropriate quantity so that I can manage my condition. There were some issues they had with their phone system at first, but they worked with us quite well to make sure that got smoothed over.

I would like to see some kind of structure and to know what kind of things need to done like medications or appointments. I would like to see more support from the agency in the structure. I want to be able to say what we can do at a certain time. I would like to see them plan it. The discharge person at the hospital has referred more people because they weren't even aware of the care that was available for my husband and I. I was concerned that they were going to send my husband to another facility for one week and they were unaware that they could go through an agency. Since then, they've been able to send other people to Talem Home Care - Broomfield, CO. They do offer care at home.

The first person they sent out suddenly decided she was going to move after a week, so I had to switch caregivers and we had to have someone new.

My hours were increased in December and we notified Talem Home Care, but they haven't provided me with a weekend caregiver. My hours were again increased in January and they still haven't provided me with a weekend person and it is going into eight months.

I want care. I've had so many people call out at the last minute and they didn't send anyone. I do all the footwork, making the phone calls and getting my friends and family to help me take care of Gary. There's a total lack of communication and they don't call when scheduling is changed. There's a location check in every morning, and a caregiver didn't show up and so they could see that the caregiver didn't show up and no one ever called me to explain anything or apologize. The client sat in bed for 16 hours and he could have died.

Communication needs to improve between the agency and myself. They don't call me and communication broke down. The caregiver had no idea that I called for her to come. It was very frustrating. My caregiver is extremely organized and I am not. She comes in and helps with organization and she has been fabulous because she is so organized. When my family came, they actually stayed her because my house was clean. We had Christmas dinner here and I just had surgery and so they had dinner at my house because everything was so nice and clean. It was the best my house has ever looked.
