They have been working with us now for probably about three weeks, trying to get everything to bring mom in there and they're amazing. It made my mom feel very welcome every time that we've gone to see her. They have a beauty salon and they do nails. They have a dog on site, which my mom loves, and all the meals are home-cooked, so I can't ask for anything more. She went to exercise class this morning, which we were all happy about, and they also have crafts and stuff, but she hasn't done any of those yet. She said she loves the food too, and I've seen the menus and it looks awesome. It's basic, regular home-cooked meals. It's all very worth it for us.
What you can do with Caring
About Marla Vista Assisted Living in Green Bay, Wisconsin
There are a number of reasons why Marla Vista Assisted Living has emerged as one of Green Bay's most popular Community Based Residential Facilities (CBRFs). Residents, families and visitors tell us that the high-ceilinged, sun-lit common areas and spacious landscaped grounds are especially appealing. They also appreciate the fact that our knowledgeable, caring staff works around the clock to assure their personal comfort, safety and peace of mind. The efficient, well-organized way we manage the community is impressive but, if residents were polled, most would probably say they're more impressed with the social and recreational activities -- or with the delicious home-cooked meals prepared by our talented kitchen staff -- than with the hard to earn Deficiency-Free rating the community received from the state in 2009.To learn more about this providers license and review other available state reports, please visit: Wisconsin Department of Health Services Division of Quality Assurance Provider Search

Marla Vista Assisted Living is one of the smaller ones we've visited, which was a positive. The staff who gave us a tour was very nice. I talked to some other staff members, and they were also nice. I talked to a couple of residents, and they were happy there. The rooms are adequate in size and very clean. Everybody can dine together if they wish. If you wish to eat in your room, they bring the food to your room. At the back there was a patio, and a very large green space. It's fenced in, so the residents couldn't leave. I was really happy with it. The facility was very clean and kept up nicely. The patio was nice.

I toured Marla Vista Assisted Living. The facility was very clean and nice. I thought the rooms were a good size. People seemed nice. The people that I encountered were living there and seemed to be happy with where they were. Overall, it was very nice; I thought it was good. I didn't see the meal plans, but they had a room where coffee, juice, or water was always available. They had nice walk-in showers, so that part was all really good. The staff seemed very nice and attentive. There weren't a lot of people around at that time. There were a couple of people sitting outside. A lady was coming down, she was in her wheelchair, and then somebody came, pushed her in, and then helped her get some breakfast. They seemed to be pretty on top of things. They have stretching classes and lots of crafts. They have a big craft room. They have the game night. The calendar is full. It has like five or six things every day. They have a hair salon there to get haircuts, and podiatry is available. It is very clean and very nice. Everybody was pleasant. The administrator was the one that showed us around. They just had a big celebration for The Fourth. They're going to have another get-together with the neighborhood, inviting the neighborhood people to come, so I thought that was cool, too. They showed me one of the rooms that were available for respite care. It had a walk-in shower, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a sink. You could have your own snacks and food there if you wanted.

It is very nice, homey, and my mother-in-law loves it there. The staff members in the assisted living level are very friendly. The place is very clean and the dining area is very nice. It's a really nice place overall and my mother-in-law is very happy there. We tried out four different places and this one feels more like home.

I visited here and it was very pleasant. It appeared to be very neat, very clean, and everybody was very hospitable and very kind. They have private and shared rooms. I also saw the dining area. The facility looked very nice.

Choosing a place for our mom was an extremely difficult decision. After we took the tour and met the staff and saw the various activities and level of care they could provide, we felt comfortable choosing them. We are 10 months into this and my mom is very happy there. We now have the peace of mind that our mom is safe around the clock and has medical experts who have group activities and exercises to give her the best quality of life she can have.

My experience here was very good. Everybody was very friendly, helped out, and give me all the information I need. They were very nice, very comfortable, and warm.
