I toured the facility to find a placement for my mother with dementia. The facility was clean, staff greeted me at the door and immediately answered all of my questions. I was so impressed with the professionalism of not only the administrator and nurse there, but also with the caregivers that I admitted my mother the same week. I immediately felt that this was a home and not a drop off place for my mother. She enjoys the activities and interactions with the staff and other residents. They all treat her like she is one of the "family". I am so grateful to find such a place for my mother to relieve my stress and peace of mind.

My grandpa was at Larson House. The staff are great, they are caring and kind. Not only do they take care of the person living there but they care about the family also. Grandpa was there till he passed, they were so caring, offering water, coffee and the office girls were helping too, checking in on us, talking and making sure grandpa was comfortable. They really care about what they do, we couldnt have picked a better place! Joe

I have a relative there. Generally they do a good job. The bathrooms in the apartments are not cleaned very well. No specialty diets that I know of. I was there at supper time and they were having hot dogs. Food could be much better.

I have made referrals to this facility. This is an assisted living community and memory care home. It is family owned and operated. Larson House is a for profit organization, they are not part of a large chain or organization which they feel makes them able to be more flexible and person centered. Energetic director that strives for person centered care in her facility. Staff receives specialized training on dementia. They have good professional staff nursing involvement. Staff can manage sliding scale insulin with the use of insulin pens if doctor ordered. Many CBRFs are not able to handle sliding scale insulin at all. Unfortunately, they do not use mechanical lifts such as hoyers, but they do use EZ Stands. Larson House staff are committed to their residents. A structured activity program is provided and the residents are encouraged to attend. Individual activity programs are created for those who need it. The Food is good. The building is very nice and well maintained. The rooms are spacious and open. The grounds are well maintained. Waunder guard system added October 2010. The staff is involved in the community recently hosting a Brat Fry where all money was donated to the Alzheimer's Association and they also participate in the Memory Walk annually.
