If you have to have Rehab with PT and OT… this part is really great. Those PT and OT folks know their stuff and for the most part, give of themselves to the max. But come as an outpatient. But for the other 23 hours, it’s understaffed. There was an inconsistency with the communication between the nurses. Although they were consistent with medications, if something new came up with me, one nurse would attend and follow up… the next wouldn’t. I had to remind each new shift. Unfortunately one of the nurses there is so obese, it didn’t seem professional. With her, my meds fell on the floor, and she didn’t replace them. She’s very kind, but she seemed to be in back pain a lot. The CNAs that were there work themselves to death , especially the day shift. But waiting for a change of diapers was up to 2 hours. There was one night , on a weekend, there were4 CNA’s. for around 60 of us. Stomach virus going around. I lay in poop for 4 hours until morning shift kindly came in. I rang the button, all night. They would come in to turn off the ringer, and said she has 2 more ahead of you…each time. That night shift never showed up. I ended up stripping the bed, cleaned myself, and waited for morning shift. The next night, I took care of myself but called to get the padding changed. The CNA came in and helped me, telling me she was one of 4 on staff that night and she was going to leave as it was too much to handle. Come Monday morning I could tell administrators knew something was wrong. It’s like they brought in “Service Pro” to be there. There were all these new folks standing at the ready to clean up… then painters came in. It was weird. But when I went to PT that day, I saw where one of the clients must have fallen. He had stitches all over his face and hands. I wasn’t the only one neglected that weekend. Not that I’m blaming, but blame on the Administration for allowing the weekends to be so understaffed. Oh lastly, I lost 15 ponds. Food is horrible.not bad, horrible. They want us to get better without good nutrition? RFK should find out how poor nutrition is in the food. Ice cream…I read the ingredients. Cream then high corn syrup, sugar, more corn syrup… first 4 ingredients. I must say that most of the employees work very hard, but they are very understaffed especially on the weekends.

I have been a resident in this facility for some time now. The staff is nice, and the food is good. I like living in a place that I feel cared for.

My mom was a n hospice and they did not pay any attention to her they bright her food twice and twice we told them she was not eating. We asked for congealed liquid and they brought a cup of water with a draw. The attendant was not trained we had to show him how to clip the oxygen sensor on her finger - after 3 hours we were working to get her out- very very sad

My mothers was in hospice and it’s just a matter of time. In the first 3 hours they tried to bring her food so we explained that hospice Dosen’t eat solid food then we asked for congealed liquid so they brought her a cup of water with a lid and straw BUT THE WORST was a staff member came in to take vitals and we had to show them how to clip the Oxygen meter to her finger and so much more so after 3 hours we were working to get her out of the horrible place
super unimpressed

They don’t clean up the toilets or change the residents clothes. The nurses take over a hour to respond to a call.

I just took my husband for respite care at Berkshire Health & Rehabilitation Center for one week. They have physical therapy available there. Some rooms are private and some are semi-private. It was very clean. The staff seems very caring. I know they have activities available, but I didn't see the activities. I know they had them posted. They had some people come in and give some entertainment. A lady called me to find out what kind of hobbies my husband has, so I know that they have things available for the people. They can work on puzzles or do different kinds of crafts and stuff. They seemed to be caring. It seemed clean, and it did not smell. Like everywhere, they can get more staff. Right now, with the COVID thing, everybody is a little bit short on staff; however, they seem to be better than some places.

Very disappointed in the care my dad received. He came from the hospital for therapy. The doctor didn’t tell the family he changed his meds on admission. It was an extremely important mental medicine. He decided to use a different med that was only supposed to given as needed for sleep/anxiety and have to him 3 times a day. My mom finally found out about the med change but My dad spent 4 days sleeping not eating/drinking. Finally got them to give him fluids. Talked to Dr and he said as the family we should of asked about meds. He took no responsibility for not telling us about the med change. Then he began to wake up and they decided he was a fall risk and we had to have a sitter with him or he had to be discharged. No other nursing home would take him because they told them he needed a sitter. We ended up taking him home before he needed to.

My stay at Berkshire was very good. The therapy was excellent. The folks who helped me were friendly. I would of course recommend this facility to others who need to get back on their feet. Fantastic facility!

My frail and elderly father was in there for a couple weeks due to injury and weakness after being in the hospital. Someone from this place called my mother one day and told her to come pick him up in 2 days as he was well enough to go home, despite the fact that he cannot walk unassisted, use the bathroom alone, etc. There was no home health care set up prior to discharge except to give my mom some phone numbers. The rude discharge/administrators threatened my elderly mother that she would have to pay a $20,000 copay if she wanted to keep him any longer. Extremely poor management. The nursing and PT staff seemed ok.

Everybody in this entire facility has been professional and caring. Berkshire is a premier of all care. They all put in great effort. I was really impressed. Even the office staff was on target with what they had to do.

I was a resident at Berkshire following a hip replacement and I must say that all of the staff there is outstanding! All of the nurses are knowledgeable and always have a smile on their face. The rehab team is top notch and I would recommend anyone in need of rehab to go to Berkshire!

Very rude to family members! One nurse I corresponded with over the phone actually hung up on me before I could get my non medical question out...after I waited 15 minutes to talk to....I wonder how they actually treat thier residents, I only hope they get more respect! It just floored me to be treated so poorly as a family member of my sister....wow!!

I did visit Berkshire Health and Rehab Center, and it is a very neat and clean place. It also looked like they are well staffed. They have all kinds of different hobbies, and they try to find out what would interest the patient and try to form some things around their interests. They have several nice sitting rooms and a couple of outside garden areas.

My mom was not cared for at all in Berkshire. Some of her CNAs were hateful to her. They would tell her to just use the bathroom in her diapers. They didn't feed her, I had to pay someone else to go in at lunchtime to feed her and I'd have to go by after I got off work and be there. They had activities but we're just not happy with it. It could have been cleaner and they could have better staffing.
