My mother was in Albemarle Health & Rehabilitation Center for over a month. The rehab center did not work for my mom. She is 97 years old. When we put her there, we explained to her that she needs to work hard on the rehab part because she fell and broke her hip before. She did not take to it. She wanted to do it, but just did not have strength and she developed some issues while she's there like bed sores. They decided that she is not a candidate to stay there any longer, and they made us move her out to another facility. We were not going to leave her in Albemarle because it was so expensive. Most of the staff are fine. We noticed that they didn not seem to be staffed very well, and they did not have enough people to answer the phone or return phone calls. They have a very strict visitation policy, like zero visitations while my mother was there and we could not visit her at all. My mother said the food was fine. We were paid for by Medicare for her rehab, but to stay and live there would be $9,000 a month. That is pretty strong.
