Our mom needed the safety of a full-time staff with her plummeting blood pressure. Brookdale quickly stepped to the plate offering her the assisted care she needed. They worked with us quickly to get her in and settled and she is thriving. The have even made arrangements for her quilt guild to meet on the premises monthly. The staff has made her feel welcome and comfortable. Though she is mentally perfect we needed to know there was someone there in the event of a sudden BP drop. Brookdale Kingsport has been wonderful, making sure mom is healthy and happy.

We toured Brookdale Kingsport. The location was an issue because it was further away from us. The rate was a little bit higher. It's a beautiful facility. The rooms were beautiful. The staff was great.

Brookdale Kingsport I was very impressed with this place. Each guest needed to be let in to enter the facility also when leaving (security) My mother-n-law said they get 3 meals each day where excellent, and snacks. she can eat in the dinner room, or her apartment. She get rides to/from Doctor. She seem very happy to be around other people. She enjoys having her laptop with internet and watching TV (both include). The staff all seemed friendly and helpful. this is a good place.

Brookdale Kingsport is basically the same as the others we toured. It had a nice dining facility. The rooms were nice and adequate. If you don't have that much money, you can go with Brookdale. It is on one level. The room had an entrance foyer, a small kitchenette, a refrigerator, a microwave, a bedroom, walk-in closets, and walk-in bathroom with a shower. They had a library. I only met one person, and I liked him.

I visited Brookdale Kingsport and loved it. It's only 20 minutes from where I live, which is important to me because I can come back to my church and everything seems to be fine. I thought everything looked great. Everybody I met was very friendly. The staff who showed me around was nice, and she's kept in touch since then. They had two rooms that were getting ready at the time, then she let me know that they're ready but I'm kind of on hold right now. I tried the food, and it was very simple. I think we had a hotdog, some pasta, salad, and a big cookie. That's more than what I would eat at home and it was fine. They had activities going on all the time, which is what I'm interested in- being around and being busy. At home I just sit around and watch TV and I don't like being alone. I can still drive, so I can have my car and come and go. They had a whole schedule of things to do. They had exercises like first thing in the morning and things like that. I think this community is fine, and it's what I would choose. It's set on a hill and you can overlook a lot of things. The location appealed to me. They had some studio rooms as well, and they weren't just a little square box with just a bathroom. The rooms were nicer and a little more unique.

Initially, the facility seemed to be a great option for my Dad. I felt like they provided me with a lot of good information and answered my extensive questions. And, the cost for my Dad was manegable However, after only two months, my Dad's adjustments were not going well. A lot had to do with his own efforts. But, when I met with the staff at our next Family Care Meeting, I was told that due to the additional needs of my Dad, his care was now going to cost $3000 more in addition to the Basic Room and Board we signed up for. Yes, you read that correctly, $3000 more for various services like Bathroom Aid, Dress Assist, Transion Assist requiring 2-man assists, medication management, an Oxygen Safety Fee just to use Oxygen, etc...... I was flabbergasted since this list of additional fees for various services were ever shown to me during any of my visits to the facility prior to his placement. I was shown a meager 2 services for $88 each which I would have been happy to pay if it was required due to any health declines. I asked very specific questions and none of this was mentioned. I felt very nickel and dimed. I actually felt like they were really not wanting to keep my dad because of his needs and the work required to keep him so they were basically making it impossible for him to stay due to affordability. If this was not hard, I would have kept him at home, but his needs were more than my Mom could handle at home which is why we turned to Assisted Living in the First place. Therefore, needless to say, I felt blindsighted and taken advantage of. I am now in the process of finding my Dad another facility. Brookdale Kingsport gave me 30 days to find alternative placement. And, they verbally mentioned that I would need to pay additional fees of around $1500 immediately for him to stay. This now puts my parent's in a debt situation in which their bills now exceed their income. Thus, I am very disappointed and hope that people read my review so that they can avoid such a surprise. I have been an advocate for my parents, but am very concerned that people that do not have any advocates are being taken advantage of and being robbed in terms of costs to live with a decent Quality of Life in what should be a no stress environment during this phase of their lives.

Brookdale Kingsport seemed like it was very dark. It was too dark in the hallway, which wasn't good. I didnt like it. They ought to make an upgrade. Like they could put some wooden floors in. They have a lot of activities. We ate there and the food wasn't very good. They serve three meals a day. They showed me a 1-bedroom, which had a door where you could go outside on a little patio. The staff who showed us around was nice and knows what she's talking about.

Brookdale Kingsport is excellent, and I love everything about the place. They're doing an excellent job. I haven't tasted the food but I know my stepfather is cleaning his plate. He has a 500-square-foot apartment with a walk-in closet, and the price is extremely reasonable. He's been there since June. The last time I went there, a gentleman in the lobby played a guitar. They play bingo every day except for Sunday. They have some standing planters wherein they planted vegetables, which was going quite well, and they told me that they have one outing a month. Everyone smiles, are friendly, and appear to be happy to do whatever you ask them. They have a very nice courtyard. The person who took me on the tour was all bubbly, excited, energetic, and spoke to everybody she came across. The people are enthusiastic. The activities aren't poor, but they're not great.

We really liked Brookdale. Everybody was very friendly, and it seemed really low key. However, it would be a 30-minute drive from my brother.

My father-in-law is at Brookdale Kingsport. This place is close across from our church; that's how we've come across it. It is a really nice place. The staff seems to be OK to me. The dining area is really nice. My father-in-law is in a nice little room. I really like this place. It is a really nice place. Everyone seems to be kind and courteous.

The apartments at Brookdale Kingsport are bright, clean, cheerful, and big. My sister has a little kitchenette and a big walk-in closet. They have musical groups that come in, and they have activities like bingo and arts & crafts. I think the food is very good, and the portions are great. The nursing staff is fantastic, and communication is excellent.

I've been to Emeritus at Kingsport and I will not go back there. I was able to say there for a month. The food was terrible. They are short of staff, but they were trying the best that they could at that time. All in all, they need to hire more staff.

My mother-in-law is now at Emeritus at Kingsport. They chose this one because my husband's sister lives in Kingsport. Also they have a couple of aunts who have lived there for quite a while, so they were very familiar with it. They like the staff. They like the way they are taking care of her there. She has a little apartment with a sitting area and a small kitchen, but they provide her meals. She also has a bedroom and a bathroom, and off the back, she has a little walk-out porch where she can go out and sit. Her apartment overall is fine. They also have activities. She plays dominos and cards. They have classes and church services. Right now, it is an adjustment for my mother-in-law, but overall we are really pleased with this community.

My mother–in-law is at Emeritus at Kingsport. The sanitation is very good. She has a good room; its size is adequate. It's also clean and well kept. Food is adequate as well. However, they could have more skilled help for the number of patients.

I was impressed with Emeritus at Kingsport. We did go there for my parents and it was one of our options. Their staff appeared nice. We didn't have an opportunity to eat that day, but it sounded like they have a reasonable options as far as choice of the meals that residents would like. Their rooms were smaller and there was a lack of privacy between two rooms. I didn't think they have doors between two different rooms. That was something we wanted so each parent kind of have their own room. Their living environment was nice but it wasn't open like the one they're living in right now.

Emeritus was extremely nice. They staff was caring and stayed in contact with me. But distance wise, the place wasn't suitable for our needs.

When my grandpa was a resident here, he was always treated well and very respectfully. He was in the army when he was younger and they had a nice sign on his door that mentioned his service. They put up photos for him and were always very patient even when at the end, he was often irritable and quite cranky.I always felt that the nurses cared about him as a person. They were extraordinarily kind to my parents and me when we visited, and I often observed interactions between staff and other patients that seemed to be the same great level of care my grandfather was receiving.Regardless of the level of care someone needs, this is an excellent facility. Even the more advanced care units still has a "homey" look to it, and they strive to make everyone, patients and visitors, feel comfortable there.

I highly recommend the Emeritus assisted living facility in Kingsport. It is a very beautiful stone building with a well-kept inside. Emeritus is within driving distance of Johnson City and Bristol, which makes it convenient to commute to and from caring for the elderly when I am stationed there as a caregiver for one of my clients. It is a bit more expensive than most, but definitely worth the extra money to provide a place like this to the elderly who needs frequent assistance from someone to do daily activities.

I worked with an Alzheimer's patient in this facility and was impressed by its cleanliness. The housekeeping staff were quick to respond when this patient had an accident in his bathroom. The rooms were more like tiny apartments, very comfortable and private. The lunch I observed being served appeared enticing and well-balanced. I would highly recommend this facility.
