I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom has been here for 7 months and I have to say I am very happy with it. It is much better than where she was in Lancaster SC. I love that they call to tell me they are changing meds when they do. The staff and nurses I have had interaction with have been great. You are not going to find a place that is going to be all 5 stars from everyone. You have to be your relative's advocate and follow up on things. I go all different times of the days, they never know when I am coming. I speak up if I feel something is not right. Overall I honestly feel that this is a great nursing home for my mom. It feels alive when you go in, not dark and dingy like other state ran homes.

I visited this facility

White Oak Manor-Rock Hill was nice. I just don't think it's going to work for a dementia person. It's well-kept though and they were very helpful and answered all the questions. The dining area was clean. They play outside with some games. So, they keep the residents busy. They have a garden and a barber shop.

They do not answer call bells in a timely manner, sometimes not at all until the family calls. They have a few good staff and a lot of horrible staff. She went without showers, medications not given correctly, doctors weren't notified of changes/concerns unless you basically beg them to see your loved on. Then your told, "I'll put it in the book" staff spoke to her whatever kind of way, A lot of mental abuse, and neglect. I regret putting my grandmother in this place. I thought they were great at first I found out just how horrible they were. I wish I would have done more for her and listened when she would tell me of all the horrible things that went on.

Thee are some beautiful souls that work there, but horrible, uncaring administration. The place has really gone downhill lately to the point we moved our family member to another facility.

I am/was a resident of this facility

White Oak Rock Hill does a very good job to meet the needs of their residents. They do their best to accommodate realistic family members and residents requests or concerns. The overall staff is very caring.

My mother-in-law was in White Oak Manor for two and a half weeks. It was a clean, neat, modern, and fairly new facility. She was very impressed with the nurses and assistants who helped her. It worked out well for her.

My mother is in this facility. She has been there several weeks. Over the past week, staff are not answering the call button in a timely manner. We have pressed the call button so that they could take her to the restroom. We waited patiently until we took her ourselves. They finally came 20 minutes later. This has happened several times. We have spoken to the HEAD Nurse and Administration,. They have yet to fix the issue. We will be contacting outside of White Oak Manor and take the proper steps. Check everything out before bringing your family members here.

Grateful for your service!

I am a friend or relative of resident

I am responsible for an elderly friend and selected White Oak Manor- Rock Hill because of other helpful reviews. Now I have the privilege of writing one that might help someone else. This facility is very nice and clean. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty. They were extremely nice, helpful, patient and respectful in what might have been a very frustrating experience -- all times of the day and night. They were knowledgeable and thorough in their duties - from the receptionists, to the nurses, to the social workers and everyone in between. They were able to answer all my questions and were as prompt as could possibly be expected in returning phone calls. They were all very professional and I couldn't be more appreciative.

Mom is at White Oak Manor – Rock Hill for about two months now. The staff is very kind, and they are doing a wonderful job. They are very easy to get along with. They communicate very well. She is sharing a room right now, and the facility is not dated. It's pretty old although they have a newer side although, the side that my mom is in is quite run down. The food has been excellent. My mom has gained probably about 15 to 20 pounds. She really enjoys the food. With their activities, she plays bingo. They also have people coming in to play music. They also do their nails.

I visited this facility

I’ve been to White Oak Manor before with a church group. They were very helpful. One of my friends’ mother was there, and she loved the food. She loved the staff, and my friend always said that her mother never had a complaint. The atmosphere seemed friendly and welcoming. When my church group went, we played hand dolls for the residents. They had bingo days or parties; they would have other groups come in and entertain.

I visited this facility

White Oak is OK. It wasn't quite as clean, but it is still a nice place. It just didn’t seem quite as good as the other facility. It was alright, but there was some trash around. They might have been having a bad day and there was some trash around in there. The rooms and apartment are a good size, and they looked really good inside. We really didn't have a whole lot to do with the staff except for one lady. She was really nice. They are doing about the same activities as the other one like cornhole game and bingo. They got someone doing your hair and everything. I didn't taste the food, but I did see the dining area, and it is really nice.
