After my mother in law passed away from husband and his brothers decided to move their father into the Mount Trexler Manor of Tri-County Respite. Overall the facility seemed to be a good fit. There were family days and bus trips to local malls and recreation spots. I know that my father in law also went on a bus trip to Atlantic City for a day. I really dislike places that feel institutionalized and this one was pretty bright and airy. However, the dining facilities and most of the activities for residents were run in an extremely institutionalized fashion. There was also a small hole in the wall of my father in law's room that was not repaired for four months despite complaints from my husband, his brothers, and myself on at least a weekly basis. Some of the personal care assistants seemed to be extremely rude as well. I witnessed one young girl sighing and telling an elderly woman with a walker to hurry up. The woman could obviously not hurry up and seemed upset by the girl's attitude. I reported the incident but saw the same girl working there on other occasions so I'm not sure if my complaint was taken seriously. My father in law stayed there for a little over nine months and in that time he developed several colds and an ingrown toenail, but my husband nor I have any proof that any of those things were do to negligence. Overall, we decided to move my father in law to another facility.
