Facility is well-maintained and beautiful, but you would expect this for the $$ you pay to be here. The nurses and caregivers do the best they can (they are ALWAYS overworked and understaffed), but management is more worried about their reputation than the residents. The residents are bored (and I got to know many of the residents, so this is not just my mom's feedback) and isolated. For example, dinner ends at 6pm and they are more than happy to scurry everyone back to their room. There are NO nighttime activities, breakfast is in their rooms in the morning, so from 6pm until noon the next day, they do NOTHING. They appear to have a lot of activities, but they don't. Many times, we would go to an "activity," and no one was there. They don't encourage residents to get to know one-another, and families are not included in anything. The food is mediocre and the majority of the food service staff is uncaring and rude. Again, this is a VERY expensive place to live. My mom was paying $10K+ per month, plus her downpayment from independent living. When I asked management early on if I could have a meeting with them just to see how my mom was doing, I was told "We don't do that. If you have any specific issues, contact the main nurse." The day-to-day caregivers do their best, but they are treated very poorly by management. It's such a shame. They lost MANY good workers while we were there due to how poorly they were treated. This please could be a gem, but current management is horrible!

My dad is at The Meadows at Shannondell. The facility is very clean. My dad has been kept clean, and he seems very content. The staff members are very friendly and very attentive. Every day they have an activities person, and their activities look fun. His room is very clean, the bed is made, and there's no dirt or anything on the floor. The bathroom is clean. It's expensive, so I don't think everybody could afford to be there. But what they're paying for, they're getting good care.
