I toured MorningStar of Hillsboro. The facility is way too big. It looks like you're in a hotel, which is nice, and I've toured the apartments. They're nice and bright, and that's what I'm looking for. The staff member who helped with the tour was a sweetie and knowledgeable. They've got everything going on in there. They play card games, go on tours as far as getting out of Morningstar, and go on shopping trips. It's more of a fit for me. The view was beautiful. The facility was clean and solid; however, the apartments are a little small for me.

MorningStar of Hillsboro was very nice, new, and shiny. The woman who did the intake was incredibly knowledgeable, but it was much more expensive, and there wasn't a good way to access the outside from the apartment with the dog. You didn't want to have to walk the dog all the way through the facility to get outside. Physically, it didn't work out. This facility was gorgeous. They even have a swimming pool inside. They have a library, a gym, and game rooms. It seems very well-maintained.

I will be moving into MorningStar of Hillsboro. I like the floor plan, the staff's attitudes, the location, the amenities, and the value I feel I'm getting for my money. I have a full kitchen, a washer and disposal, and laundry. One of the things I like about the floor plan is that even though it's a one-bedroom, it's laid out well. There's a connection between the bedroom and the bathroom, so I don't have to go through the living room and kitchen to get there. Another aspect I like is that it's not a large corporation. If a manager, chef, or someone else sees the need for a change or an addition to the community, they do not have to go through layers and layers of management to get an answer as to whether or not they can make that change. I dealt with two specific ladies, and both of them were very knowledgeable about the community, how it's organized, and what my options were. The food is provided, and an excellent restaurant-style menu that includes weekly specials, especially recommended by residents. Another aspect of MorningStar that I like is the security. They have a way of checking on me that isn't obtrusive, to make sure I'm okay and don't need any help.

I toured MorningStar of Hillsboro. It's so nice. I had lunch there, and it was great. The staff was nice. At times, I had two people helping me.
